Allow people with whom folders are shared to move references from that folder into its subfolders
Users with the "Can Modify" permission on a shared folder should be able to move references from the main shared folder into its subfolders

Specify when multiple shared first-authors or selectively modifying a given citation
Nowaday, there are more and more issues with sharing of first-authorship. In our field, it is recommended to cite all first-authors.
Here are two articles:
1. Dohner K., Ramos-Nascimento A., Bialy D., Anderson F., Hickford-Martinez A., Rother F., Koithan T., Rudolph K., Buch A., Prank U., et al. Importin alpha1 is required for nuclear import of herpes simplex virus proteins and capsid assembly in fibroblasts and neurons. PLoS Pathog. 2018;14:e1006823. doi: 10.1371/journal.ppat.1006823

Enable open URL link resolver buttons in shared folders opened by non-RefWorks users
Enable open URL link resolver buttons in shared folders opened by non-RefWorks users
I am my campus' RefWorks administrator and a reference librarian. We use RefShare in legacy RefWorks to send search results to our patrons. Use of our search service nearly trebled during the three years after we licensed legacy RefWorks and we believe this is largely due to the presence of a "GetIt@UNMC" button in each record in our RefShare format search results. Many search service users became interested in using RefWorks after receiving search results in RefShare format. A "shared folder" feature without "GetIt@___" open url link…

An localized icon image for OpenURLs (like Legacy RefWorks has)
Currently each citation in legacy RefWorks can be configured to include the institution's unique image in place of the OpenURL link. Not sure why this is not an option in New RefWorks

folder lock
Have an option to lock certain folders which prohibits articles being deleted from them. Would help from accidentally losing files.

Keep search terms while searching PubMed from within New RefWorks
In the Advanced search form, if a user types in a term then decides to change the search field, the text they type is erased. This leads to user frustration. I reported it to the Support Portal and go the reply that is by design not a bug. This would be a suggested improvement, if you would like to make suggestions for improving the product please add them to our forum at https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/909445-refworks . The suggestions made here are used by the management and development team to chart future product development.

Capture PMID from CINAHL records upon import
EBSCO has isolated the PMID in as a piece of data in their CINAHL records; however, this doesn’t appear to be captured in an import into RefWorks. Please capture this item when available in CINAHL records.

data-driven article recommendations
There is a demand for data-driven article recommendation function for RefWorks.
Some kind of web services have already implemented this kind of function.
One end-user said that it should be based on not only articles in user account but also references cited in those articles. I hope this idea to be considered.24 votes -
notification when new references are added to shared folders or projects
especially when working with shared folders and projects it is very useful if I can easily spot recent changes / additions /modifications made by the other users of the project/folder.

Add more severe authentication
We have institutions which have multiple campuses or branch office and use a common institutional email address domain.
If only one campus/office of a large-scale institution subscribes RefWorks, it needs to restrict to access or create new account from other places.
I think that to add the authentication by all of the following required items would be resolved:
- access to the unique URL
- enter the invitation code
- enter the institutional email address domain10 votes -
Include referring URL or permalink
RefWorks should capture the referring URL or (when coming from an ExL/ProQuest property) the permalink for a record when importing. This would help patrons go back to where they found the item, in case they need more details about it, want to get the item, or want to find other things like it.

You can post your choices here. -
There should be a more accurate update on saving.
Current it only says "updated: sometime" instead of a specific time stamp. This is very frustrating because I can't be sure my notes are definitely saved.

Enable stats at folder level
Enable stats at the folder level. If we make a folder of citations public, we can see how many view the folder. This would be really helpful!
At this point, we would have to use a link manager, like Bitly to count views. Having to add another platform, such as Bitly, to support our RefWorks-related needs is not ideal.

improve custom field functionaliy
- Custom fields should be definable at the PROJECT level, as defaults to add to each new reference added to the project.
- Export and import of ref projects should include metadata for custom field names, and add those in (on import) so that the data is not lost.
- Allow for export of metadata, so that as instructor I can create a specific set of custom fields, and have students import it to start a project.

Añadir una campo personalizado. Add a custom field

Espacio muy estrecho al visualizar = Very narrow space when displaying
Cuando se visualiza una referencia, el espacio que se abre a la derecha, en vertical, es demasiado estrecho. ¿Se puede ampliar al doble, por lo menos?

Save to RefWorks Design Improvements
For the love of all that is holy, please create an option to minimize the 'Save to RefWorks' pop-up window when you're trying to input a reference. When Save to RefWorks can't manage to input most of the information itself (85% of the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), you have to manually input, but the giant RefWorks window blocks half of the article information that you need to input from view

Increase compatability for screen reader software by adding support for Read Aloud by LSDSoftware
While support exists for a few other screen readers, it would be very helpful for users with specialized access needs for the RefWorks read an uploaded PDF feature to be compatible with the Read Aloud browser plugin.

Multiple Citations on Google Docs
On Google Docs, refworks will generate the same list of references multiple times while multiple people work on it. Is it possible to have just a single list on google docs?

List bibliography in Japanese phonetic alphabets order.
Some of Japanese author guidelines requires authors to
sort bibliography in Japanese phonetic alphabets order. But current RefWorks can not respond to this requirement and it reduce the value of RefWorks.
It might depend on the bibliography database provides, but I am glad if you consider to improve this limitation.24 votes
