Fix inconsistencies with HTML display in Custom Panel Sections between admin and production
The editor for Pages > Custom Panel Sections is inconsistent with what's displayed in the Summon interface.
Example #1--I attempted to insert a line break (<br>) in the title of the panel (to have a two-line header for the panel). After submitting, the admin tool properly displayed the line break. In Summon, however, the title displayed as a single line with the "<br>" displaying. It would be good if the panel title display in the admin tool matched how the title would display in Summon.
Example 2: I was editing the panel in source mode and entered bold tags (<b>,…

Allow Best Bets to be date-limited
It would be great to have date-limited best bets so it's easier to promote events, programs, etc. If implemented, it would be good to include a checkbox option to designate if a post is persistent or date-limited.

Springshare Chat Widgets in Summon Mobile Friendly
We have noticed with the Springshare v2 chat widget (LibAnswers) found in our Summon search page, it completely disappears when accessing it in a mobile device. With most of the links found in the Summon interface (such as the "Advanced Search" and "Add results beyond your library's collection"), they automatically get pushed into the hamburger menu.
Is it possible for the LibAnswer’s chat widget (link) to be automatically pushed there also?
We feel like users using mobile devices should be able to access our Library chat just in case they come across a reference question or would like to report…

"Littel Navigator" for Topic Explorer
"Littel Navigator" is a discovery support tool which is used in libraries in Japan. With it, user can check the conceptual relations between search words and other related words. The ralations are presented like network diagram.
It would be helpful for users to expand their knowledge, if it can be integrated into Topic Explorer in Summon result page.

open the "search within a journal" results in a new tab or window
Clicking on a journal title to use the "search within a journal" feature eliminates the original search. It would be helpful to have this open as a search in a new window or browser tab so that the original search is not lost.

Block titles across multiple databases
We want to filter out several publications and publishers from wherever they might appear in our holdings, rather than having to go in and edit the title lists in individual databases in the Offline Date and Status Editor. Once you deselect titles in ODSE, the title list no longer updates automatically and you have to manually update the database lists. We keep seeing the same lousy titles showing up over and over again (especially in various Gale products) and it is a pain to edit them out of every single Gale collection and/or deselect entire databases.

Include Selected Facets in Zero Results Analytics
In the Summon OBI analytics, you can create a Zero Title Searches report, which includes how many times the search was conducted as well as the "Search Origin." The search origin provides the information on the cause of the search coming up with zero results that can either be due to a "search" or "facet."
Currently, we can't see precisely what facets the user had selected while searching that provided zero results. We believe that including details on which facets were present during the failed search would be extremely beneficial.12 votes -
Create a facet for Abstracts (or Conference Abstracts)
Abstracts are currently classified as Journal Articles, which causes confusion as readers are expecting to be able to read the full text of a published article that does not exist. Creating a facet for Abstracts would allow them to be correctly classified and would improve the user experience
12 votesFor next year we are planning additions and changes for resource types. We will take this under consideration and will include this as part of that project if possible.

Discover the DOIs not registered with CrossRef: problems with searching the italian titles by DOI numbe
It would be really helpful to search for an article or chapter book, edited by italian publisher, through DOI number inside the relative eJournal Portal box or Citation Linker box
Now, if I insert an "italian DOI number" a syntax error is showed or nothing happens (the page remain the same)In details
with Casalini - Torrossa, is it possible reach directly the landing page through DOI URL -> ex. http://dx.doi.org/10.1400/209193with DarwinBooks and RivisteWeb both by il Mulino, the landing page is showed after clicking on a link inside a pop-up page generated by the "mEDRA engine"

Make combination of "Fulltext Online" and facet "Library Location" results possible
Many of our patrons are interested in setting the filters to results available in the specific library location they are actually working in. They miss a functionality to combine fulltext results with the specific library holdings.

Add autocomplete to search widget
The widget should make suggestions for words and phrases as the user types into the search box. This should be the same functionality as is present on the default Summon search box.

Support subscriptions with embargoes or rolling cutoff dates
Right now, if a database collection you subscribe to includes journal date ranges like "to X years ago" Summon/CDI doesn't recognize the cut off date and simply includes the whole subscription up to present in your search index even though the articles are not accessible. When you click a link, it's up to the content provider to determine how to handle the incoming link. ProQuest Research Library, for instance, will not even show you the citation record, but a search error instead. Ideally, CDI would be intelligent enough to handle these rolling cutoff dates and only include recent articles as…

Allow users to browse the "Virtual Shelf"
The Virtual Shelf tab would appear for each record on the search results page. It would allow users to browse items based on the location of an item in the search results. Then the user could navigate through items "on the shelf".

Ability to filter results by format in Summon, e.g. search for books, articles etc.
As in Primo, provide a mechanism to allow users to search within specific indexes, e.g. to search books, journals, articles separately. This is particularly important when search results cannot be ranked as we would wish, e.g. journal articles before journal titles.

Summon configuration screens should prompt you to save changes
Some of the Summon configuration pages are getting very long. You don't see the Save button clear at the bottom unless you scroll.
Please add a reminder prompt if someone makes settings changes, but doesn't press Save. I tried to change the book/ebook setting three times before I figured out why it wasn't taking effect!

Increase Facet Limit
Summon facets are currently limited to only display 100 values for performance reasons. Would it be possible to increase this or ideally remove the limit without causing performance issues?

Allow configurable for "Export To" function
HKPL suggested to be configurable for "Export To" function, allow enable/disable it, as well as enable/disable different export types (that is RefWorks, EasyBib, EndNote, Zotero, BibTeX, Citavi).

OBI usage statistics : scheduling reports for email delivery
It should be great if we can schedule usage reports to be sent automatically to a special email address every mounth
10 votesMoving this back to no status and adding a note to clarify. For Summon over Alma customers, we can schedule delivery of reports via email. But currently OBI statistics from the Summon UI are not covered under these reports.
This idea covers reports and usage outside of Alma.
