  1. Create a Dashboard in Summon Admin Console

Currently the Listserv is the main method of communication. Email is great but customers get bombarded with emails every day and it's easy for information to get overlooked. It also requires users to proactively sign up for the listserv which requires them knowing it exists. Many sites see turnover and do not get proper training or information passed to them.

Creating a dashboard in the Summon Admin Console can improve communication from Clarivate to customers by sharing the information in multiple locations. There can be a recent announcement feed, accessible by Clarivate and the ELUNA Summon/360 Working Group. Another section…

  2. Make the widget builder a tab within settings

The widget builder is a tool that allows you to make widgets you can embed on pages for searches or displaying content through a carousel. This feature though is currently only available by going to an external link which means knowing it exists. It seems to be the only feature that is configured outside the summon admin console.

I suggest making a new tab in the Summon Admin Console for widgets or merging it with the chat widget. It can even be as simple as linking out to the existing page but I believe it would make the feature more…

  3. The Most Instagrammable Supercars in Dubai 2026

Dubai continues to be one of the world’s most exciting playgrounds for exotic cars, blending luxury, performance, and sheer visual appeal. In 2026, supercar culture here has reached new heights — from rare hypercars cruising Sheikh Zayed Road to custom-wrapped beasts posed against desert sunsets. For anyone looking to make their Instagram feed pop, standout models like the Ferrari F8, Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren 720S, and even bespoke Rolls-Royces are must-features. Many enthusiasts browse premium collections at https://exoticcars.ae/ to scout the most photogenic supercars available in the region.

Beyond pure performance, what makes a car “Instagrammable” is its presence — bold…

  4. How to Fix “Cannot Use Import Statement Outside a Module” in Node.js Projects

One of the most common headaches for JavaScript developers is encountering the dreaded SyntaxError: cannot use import statement outside a module. This error usually happens when Node.js tries to interpret ES module syntax (import/export) in a project that isn’t configured to handle it. By default, Node.js treats .js files as CommonJS modules, so using import without the right setup triggers this syntax error.

The simplest way to fix this is by updating your package.json to include "type": "module". This tells Node.js to treat .js files as ES modules, allowing the use of import and export syntax seamlessly. Alternatively, you can…

  5. More prominent AI generated library search queries

Please promote the "View related results on your library search" link to a prominent, standalone UI element. The AI Research Assistant is great, but it creates a "bubble" by only showing 5 sources. The "View related results" link is the escape hatch that leads students to our full collection, but it is currently too easy to miss.

Making this feature more visible acts as an information literacy tool, showing users how to convert prompts into keywords.

    Benefits of the tool:
Instant query building: It shows students what a "good" search looks like (even though it is far from perfect right…

  6. Improving AI generated search queries with Model Context Protocol (MCP)

The Research Assistant can deliver better search results by implementing real-time AI query optimization through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Instead of relying on static, centralized indexes, this approach enables the AI assistant to query our catalogue and other distributed content sources directly and dynamically refine searches based on what it discovers.

Users would receive not only improved results from their initial query, but also optimized search terms they can use for further manual research. This helps them learn better search techniques while finding relevant materials faster, reducing frustration and improving research outcomes. We believe the AI can be a…

  7. Schedule end date and time for custom panels

Custom panels can be used to post announcements such as special hours or advertising events. These require the messages to be added or removed manually. It would be helpful to schedule when the post is persistent and when its disabled.

  8. How Cursor IDE Handles Large Codebases: Performance Insights

When working on a large codebase, the biggest challenge is usually maintaining speed—both in navigation and development workflow. That’s where Cursor IDE has been surprising a lot of developers. Unlike many traditional editors that start to feel sluggish once your project grows beyond a certain size, Cursor IDE takes a more AI-assisted approach to handling code structure, which noticeably improves the experience.

One of the most appreciated aspects is how quickly Cursor IDE indexes files. Even with thousands of modules, the search and “jump to definition” features remain responsive. The AI-powered understanding of code allows Cursor to create a sort…

  9. Add Person info card feature

Enable the 'Person Info Card' feature in Summon.

The option is already in production in Primo VE: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/020Primo_VE/Primo_VE_(English)/150End_User_Help/Searching_Linked_Open_Data_-_Person_Entity

For users it would be really helpful to display in the discovery the related information provided by the linked open data.

  10. Summon Research Assistant via proxy

Integrate Summon Research Assistant (SRA) with a proxy client, such as EZproxy. Currently the only way for patrons to use SRA with a proxy client is by following the authentication banner link.

We don't use Microsoft or Google authentication and our federated SSO service is not supported. We don't require authentication for anything but RSA so we prefer not use the authentication banner.

It would be helpful if we could set up the RSA link button to redirect via proxy server (e.g. https://windesheim.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://windesheim.summon.serialssolutions.com/#!/research_assistant?)

We now have a css file set up to display a proxified custom link based on…

  11. Add Publinova (SURF) to Summon

At the moment, Summon indexes the Dutch HBO Kennisbank, which includes theses and research publications from Dutch universities of applied sciences.

From January 2026, research publications will move to a new platform called Publinova, also managed by SURF (theses will stay in HBO Kennisbank).

To ensure continued discovery of Dutch applied research, please start indexing Publinova in Summon.
This will keep research publications from Dutch universities of applied sciences searchable and accessible to users.

  12. Possibility to set facet 'New Record' to Expanded by default

In Summon, in addition to the 'Time Period' facet which allows you to filter by 'Last 1/3/5/10 years', there is also a facet called 'New Record', which allows you to filter by 'Last 7/30/90 days'. This facet is collapsed by default, and there is no option to have it expanded by default. I would like to have the ability to configure this setting.

  13. Reset Preview Environment

Ideally the preview environment and production environment are nearly identical and so that you can test how different configurations and settings will work. Eventually though, it's likely that some changes you made it preview no longer match production and discovering every change is difficult and time consuming.

It would be helpful to offer an opt-in feature where institutions can select a box in the Admin Console. Doing so will schedule a refresh of your preview environment to match your production environment. This would take place before each feature release (not monthly) and only if the user opts in.

  14. Automatically Carry Over Queries Between Library Search and Research Assistant

Currently, when a user switches between the Library Search tab and the Research Assistant tab in Summon, the query does not carry over automatically. Users must manually enter the same search in each tab, which can be time-consuming and may disrupt workflow.

  15. Ability to customise the text above search box in the Summon home page.

We would like to have the ability to change the name above the search box in the Summon home page. The text currently reads "Library Search" and, in order to customise it, the only option is adding a JavaScript code. JavaScript isn't user friendly and it relies on customers knowing JavaScript. Despite that, we have tried adding a script but it did not work successfully across all browsers, with some browsers displaying the new text and others not picking up on the change.

Creating an static option, such as adding an option in Translations, would make it easy for customers…

  16. Enhance Multilingual Navigation with Custom Links Functionality

We would like to request an enhancement to the “Custom Links” feature.
Currently, it is not possible to set menu names and destination URLs separately for each language version of a page.
We would appreciate it if you could enable the ability to customize menu names and links individually for each language.
We believe this improvement would make multilingual navigation smoother and lead to a better user experience.

  17. Add option for Public Notes to display in the Summon brief result

The 'Display eResource Public Notes' and 'Display eResource Public Notes' settings in the Summon Administration Console currently allow public notes from the Client Center to be displayed in the Quick Look, but users may not always click on 'Quick Look' before trying to access the content and would be unaware of the note. If the note could also appear on the brief result (under the journal/bibliographic information, for example) then that would flag any important information to users without them needing to click on 'Quick Look'.

  18. Add a search result facet for Publication Title

Currently there is no option to add a facet on the search results screen to filter by publication (journal) title. Searching a specific journal can be done in the following ways:

    • Pre-search, by using Advanced Search/Options to add the journal's title or ISSN as an AND;
    • Post-search, by clicking on a hyperlinked journal title within a result, which opens the "search within journal" function in a new window;
    • Using the E-Journal Portal to find the journal, then using the search box to search within the journal

None of these options allows for the user to execute a search, then browse…

  19. Bring back the date slider to the Publication Date facet

We'd love the option to use a date slider in addition to manually inputting start and end dates for the Publication Date facet. The slider is so much simpler for users, as having to think up very specific dates can seem arbitrary, and takes more time to execute. You've indicated that the histogram in previous versions of the Summon UI caused performance issues; we don't necessarily need a histogram. Just a slider!

  20. Create collections in Summon

It would be great to be able to create collections by selecting resources directly in Summon, even if we don't have Alma.
Collections could be displayed in the same way as in Primo :
