2. I have a idea for that

   One way Rosetta could improve is by adding more interactive, lightweight practice modules. Learning a new language feels easier when combined with casual play and quick challenges. For example, I often use small puzzle games during breaks on sites like https://blockblast.dev, and it really helps me refresh while still keeping my brain active. If Rosetta could incorporate short, game-like activities in between lessons, it would make the learning flow more engaging and fun.

3. All you have to do is ingest metadata validation trong Rosetta: That's what you need to know

   As soon as you get to the end of the Rosetta, go to the end of the metadata validation process:

   Large ingest files often hang or encounter metadata validation errors that are difficult to diagnose.

   See what the metadata is like for what you are talking about, where it's from now on.

   Current automated workflows sometimes skip important checks, creating risks for the quality of the archived data.

   As soon as I get back to the next day:

   Is there a workflow that doesn't have to do with what is ingested?

   Why can't the metadata validation be based on the pipeline?

   What about the script that doesn't tell me what's going on?

   I'd love for everyone to share their experiences and practical solutions they've applied. I believe that the exchange will help the whole community improve the process and avoid common mistakes.

5. Ability to integrate our Ingest tool with Rosetta

   We are looking at supporting the ability to add a new format to our Ingest tool, in conjunction with this we would like that to trigger some type of API call to Rosetta and add the file format as an allowed format as well.

   In Rosetta you can add a new file extension in the Submission Format area of the UI. We have provided the option to add a new format in our Ingest tool, So once they do this, we would like this to trigger an some type of API call to Rosetta and add the new file extension as an allowed file extension without having to go into the UI and add the file extension manually in the Submission Format location.

6. Additional rule input parameter: material flow

   Since the organization levels in Rosetta are limited to consortium and institution, we often have to ingest objects of different origin an type into a single institution. This poses problems as for certain sources you want to activate more or less extraction and/or file extension rules that for other sources. Currently we have to leave the more permissive rules off, make the SIPs fail and end up in the TA, enable the permissive rules, rerun the SIPs and finally disable the permissive rules.

   This is a pain and requires many manual interventions that are error-prone and can influence other ingests that happen at the same time.

   Rules can be selected based on Producer name, but it is far more work to set up and maintain a number of Producers that it is to create multiple material flows. We therefore would like to suggest to add an extra selection parameter for selecting a number of material flows.

8. Best fit mode for the JWPlayer in IE viewer

   With the new IE viewer in version 5.4 the JWPlayer (for video and audio) does not have a best fit parameter meaning that the right-hand side of the player is hidden under the metadata pane. The only way to see the whole player is to close the metadata pane manually or zoom out in your browser. We would like to see a “best fit” parameter added to the JWPlayer in Rosetta so that the behavior would match the jpeg viewer (which fits itself to the frame by default).

   The General Representation Viewer only displays the physical structmap if there is one. It should be possible to to configure the Delivery Rule / Representation Profile for the General Rep Viewer to show the logical structmap instead.

10. New (additional) print / download functionality with configurable / restricted amount of pages

    Because of new legal situation we may offer for our users to print or download a part of restricted documents, currently 10% per session.

    This means we would like to integrate an additional functionality in our viewers with a download/print button, which calculates and allows to download / print 10 percent of opened IE, only once per viewer session.

    Maybe it is possible to enhance the new Rosetta "download all" feature with this requirement? From user guidance we see this at the same position and configurable via delivery rules too.

11. Rosetta UX

    I am currently working in Rosetta 5.4 and there are a couple of UX isues that would make using the prodiuct a lot easier.

    One of these is on the pull down list. It pwiuld be good if the pull-down lists were sorted alphabetically - for example when adding a New Deposit Material flow when I access the 'Select conent structure' the list that is display is in some sort of order but it is definettly not alphabetical

13. UI interface - Deposits: Delivery XSL Files | Details xsl viewer

    i have been working in the XSL viewer / editor -- to make it readable i have to copy and paste the information out of the XSL window -- reformat the information to make it readable -- however when I paste the reformatted XSL file into the Rosetta XSL editor the formatting gets lost -- for example <xsl:for-each> all of the information is wrapped back to a single line -- it would be great if the formatting is maintained in the Rosetta XSL editor

14. Counter / SUSHI support in Rosetta

    Increasingly libraries and consortia are using counter / sushi to measure usage of digital and electronic resources across disparate parts of their holdings.

    If holdings being held in Rosetta are to be valued by the broader institutions funding and maintaining those resources, we need to be able to report usage using the counter and sushi protocols (which ExLibris has already demonstrated knowledge of in their support in ALMA and 265 services).

    Key features would be basic counter and sushi reporting; use of IP ranges and user groups already defined in Rosetta for reporting; and grouping or content by already defined sets and/or collections for reporting.

    For compliance purposes and as a lesson learned from SC 00560356, I suggest improving the documentation and configurability of passwords throughout subsystems of Rosetta installations.

    I suggest creating and maintaining a KB article on how and where to change passwords for:
    - System user "dps"
    - System user "oracle"
    - Oracle user "sys"
    - default Rosetta user "admin1" (John Smith)
    - Cantaloupe Image Server user "admin" (changeable by configuring ".../system.dir/thirdparty/tomcat/rosetta-webapps/cantaloupe.war/cantaloupe.properties")
    - Solr user
    - Rosetta console UI user

    The passwords for Solr and the Rosetta console UI cannot be changed at the moment (Rosetta 5.5.0.0); I suggest considering changes to enable institutions to set their own passwords.

    Furthermore, I suggest that ExLibris set up suitable infrastructure for exchanging passwords securely. GPG-encrypted mail or a public write-only (!) storage would be suitable candidates, SupportCase comments (that might be publicly readable) and encrypted mobile instant messaging services like Signal (that often involve personal accounts/devices) are certainly not.

16. Small change to Create Derivative Copy task

    Right now when you use the Create Derivative Copy task you have to select a plug-in type (either Transformation Profile or Stream Handler) even in cases where you are not transforming anything - we create derivative copy representations that are exact copies of the preservation master representation with no transformations. I would like to have a 3rd radio button - something like "None" - added. Since we're not selecting any file formats and we are choosing "Copy other extensions" the system is doing what we need it to do and we think it's odd to have to choose a plugin type when it's not being used. Low priority, but worth mentioning I thought. Thanks!

17. IIIF Universal Viewer - Force Download

    When selecting a JPG file to download the following occurs
    1. the file is downloaded
    2. the file is then automatically rendered in the browser
    3. the customer needs to ‘right mouse’ click and download from the browser.
    The problem is that the download file is 600dpi but when it is rendered in the browser the browser resets the dpi to 96dpi.
    Would prefer the option to ‘force browser to download image files’

18. IIIF Universal Viewer - email Options

    Require the option to allow ‘email’ from the viewer.

    Would like to configure the at least following information as part of the ‘email’ option

    1. Descriptive metadata
    2. Handle / PI identifier
    3. URL to image

    Allow the customer to enter
    1. Subject
    2. To email address
    3. Their own email address
    It may be useful to include a ‘captcha’ block to prevent misuse of this function.

19. Rosetta UX - scheduled Jobs management

    I am not sure what the default sort sequence is for the 'Scheduled Jobs Management' but it would be good if the default sort sequence is by 'Name'

20. Rosetta SIP Producer ID

    Carried out a search for SIP ID in the 'Rosetta Management | Submissions:Search for SIPs' -- the results returned provides the 'Producer Id' -- you can grab the ID and use it to find the producer name -- it may be useful to not only include the producer ID but to also include the producer name - this may save that additional step of checking producer ID t get the producer's name
