  1. make passwords configurable, create password exchange infrastructure

For compliance purposes and as a lesson learned from SC 00560356, I suggest improving the documentation and configurability of passwords throughout subsystems of Rosetta installations.

I suggest creating and maintaining a KB article on how and where to change passwords for:
    - System user "dps"
    - System user "oracle"
    - Oracle user "sys"
    - default Rosetta user "admin1" (John Smith)
    - Cantaloupe Image Server user "admin" (changeable by configuring ".../system.dir/thirdparty/tomcat/rosetta-webapps/cantaloupe.war/cantaloupe.properties")
    - Solr user
    - Rosetta console UI user

The passwords for Solr and the Rosetta console UI cannot be changed at the moment (Rosetta 5.5.0.0); I suggest considering changes to…

  2. Small change to Create Derivative Copy task

Right now when you use the Create Derivative Copy task you have to select a plug-in type (either Transformation Profile or Stream Handler) even in cases where you are not transforming anything - we create derivative copy representations that are exact copies of the preservation master representation with no transformations. I would like to have a 3rd radio button - something like "None" - added. Since we're not selecting any file formats and we are choosing "Copy other extensions" the system is doing what we need it to do and we think it's odd to have to choose a plugin…

  3. IIIF Universal Viewer - Force Download

When selecting a JPG file to download the following occurs
    1. the file is downloaded
    2. the file is then automatically rendered in the browser
    3. the customer needs to ‘right mouse’ click and download from the browser.
The problem is that the download file is 600dpi but when it is rendered in the browser the browser resets the dpi to 96dpi.
Would prefer the option to ‘force browser to download image files’

  4. IIIF Universal Viewer - email Options

Require the option to allow ‘email’ from the viewer.

Would like to configure the at least following information as part of the ‘email’ option

    1. Descriptive metadata
    2. Handle / PI identifier
    3. URL to image

    Allow the customer to enter
    1. Subject
    2. To email address
    3. Their own email address
It may be useful to include a ‘captcha’ block to prevent misuse of this function.

  6. Rosetta SIP Producer ID

Carried out a search for SIP ID in the 'Rosetta Management | Submissions:Search for SIPs' -- the results returned provides the 'Producer Id' -- you can grab the ID and use it to find the producer name -- it may be useful to not only include the producer ID but to also include the producer name - this may save that additional step of checking producer ID t get the producer's name

  7. Pass hostname and port into publishing XSL

Currently the XSLs in "Administration" -> "Configuration files" -> "XSL Transforms" -> "Publishing" require hardcoded hostnames and ports (because hostnames and ports are required by links going out by OAI-PMH). This requirement means that we can't use the same XSL on both the STAGING and PROD but need to make changes between the two.

Hostname and port should be passed in as parameters to the XSL, so that these don't need to be changed.

  8. Searching for Derivative Copies

As a Preservation System, Rosetta does not record any detail relating to Derivative Copy content in the METS. This is not inconsistent with Digital Preservation philosophy, but it does mean that Derivative Copy contents cannot be discovered using a Search Query or API calls from external applications. This seems to conflict with Ex Libris’ spruiking of Rosetta as a DAMS, since all content within a traditional DAMS (including Derivative material) can to be searched and accessed using standardized queries. If the DAMS operability is going to be further developed in Rosetta, will Ex Libris add further functionality to discover Derivative…

  9. Save Set information for repeated Processes

Save Set information for repeated Processes

When setting up a recurring Process that uses a Set with different values each time, Rosetta does not keep a record of the Set values each time it is generated, so that you cannot Rerun the previous Process instances in History. We propose a change to the recording of Set metadata so that each time a Set is used, its values are stored, thus allowing a Historical Process to be rerun at a later date. An example is rolling fixity checks, wherein a different range of SIPs are checked each day using the same…

  10. Closed Caption capabilities

We are creating MP4 deliverables with soft embedded 'Closed captioning'. In addition, we have the WebVTT file used to create the 'closed captioning'.

We would like the OOB Videojs to allow customers to switch on/off closed captioning. At the moment this capability is not present in the OOB viewer. This support is available for VideoJS - https://github.com/videojs/video.js/blob/master/docs/guides/text-tracks.md. This functionality needs to be added as an enhancement to the VideoJS player and any new OOB Video players

This is also accessibility issue that we need to address

  11. Preservation Sets - Search levels IE/REP/FILE

as a preservation manager I would appreciate to be able to switch between the search levels IE/REP/FILE when working with Preservation Sets.
I agree, that migrations are on file level, but it would be helpful to know how many IEs/which IEs are involved in a Preservation Set. The test set also shows a list of IEs. Furthermore a lot of information for toubleshouting comes on IE-Level: view problematic IEs, view skipped objects, reports on locked IEs,...

  12. Additional Rosetta Collections REST API

The current Rosetta REST APIs return infromation about a collection structure.

We would like a REST API which will return all of the IEs attached to a Rosetta Collection

The information is currently stored in the Oracle VIEW COLLECTIONMEMBERSVIEW

  13. Rosetta REST API to Retreive IE

Would like a REST API which will retrieve a Rosetta IE METS record

You can retrieve the METS by adding 'dps_func=mets' to the delivery URL -

    https://digital.slq.qld.gov.au/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?change_lng=en&dps_pid=IE305955&dps_func=mets

however, the delivery manager will not deliver the METS information if there is are access rights preventing the delivery of the digital asset

so would like a way to retrieve the METS data regardless of the access rights on the asset

  15. File level access restrictions to be inherited from PM/MM REP to AD REP

we are using access restriction on file level for some of our items. For PM REP we can assign this automatically via task chain, but this approach does not work for AD REP (tasks cannot be used). Unfortunately when there are files in PM REP with access restriction, this access restriction is not inherited/copied to AD REP during the enrichment process. So we need to go to AD REP and manually add/change the AR for the files which need to have it.
It would be great if we have either have a task chain which would copy the file restrictions…

  18. Can Rosetta support automated integrity checks for external storage systems like AWS S3 or Azure Blob Storage?

Currently, Rosetta performs integrity checks on digital content stored within its preservation environment, primarily using fixity (checksum) verification. However, for external storage systems such as AWS S3 or Azure Blob fall guys online, automated integrity checks depend on how the storage is integrated.

To implement regular fixity checks for external storage, a possible approach is to use Rosetta's existing Preservation Planning module combined with custom scripts or third-party tools to pull checksum data from the cloud provider and compare it with Rosetta's stored checksums.

This feature could be greatly enhanced if future Rosetta releases included native support for scheduled…

  19. Retro Bowl

Retro Bowl revives the golden days of arcade football with a fascinating combination of 8-bit graphics and modern gameplay techniques. It's a love letter to classic sports games, blending retro looks with fascinating, strategic action that appeals to both casual and die-hard football fans.
When you start Retro Bowl, you're taken to a world of chunky pixels, chiptune music, and arcade-style animations. The retro-inspired design does more than simply look good; it evokes intense nostalgia, making every touchdown feel like it came right from the 1990s. The simple visuals keep the screen clear and focused, letting the gameplay to shine.
