I’m currently working with Alma and Primo VE, and I’ve noticed something that I’m hoping others in the community might have experience with.
In our discovery interface, the item availability status does not always update immediately after a change is made in Alma. For example, when an item is checked in or its location is updated, the availability in Primo sometimes takes a while to reflect the change. I suggest adding a native planning calculator in Rosetta to estimate storage growth, retention impact, fixity workload, and multi-year preservation cost.
Many institutions still do this work in spreadsheets, which creates inconsistent assumptions and slows down decision-making. A built-in scenario tool (for example 1/3/5-year comparisons, storage tier options, and CSV/PDF export) would improve transparency and reduce manual work.
