    Hello everyone,

    While working with Rosetta 5.4, I’ve noticed that the search function inside the Submission Workflow can sometimes be quite time-consuming. For example, when looking for a specific collection or material type, the current search only provides a long, flat list without enough filtering options. This forces users to scroll through dozens (sometimes hundreds) of entries before finding the right one.

    A possible improvement could be the addition of filters or sorting options (e.g., alphabetical, date created, last modified, frequently used). This would save time for daily users and make the workflow smoother, especially in large institutions managing multiple…

  14. UX: improve list view of IE delivery rules

    The IE delivery rule list contains the following fields:
    - active
    - name
    - description
    - creation date
    - modification date
    - commands view, edit and delete

    the dates and commands take up half of the screen, not leaving much space for the name and description. Both these fields are rarely descriptive enough to fully understand the implication of the rule and we have had several occasions where an operator added a rule, changed the order or modified a rule without understanding its impact. Resulting in wrong viewers being used or even files not viewable at all.

  15. make passwords configurable, create password exchange infrastructure

    For compliance purposes and as a lesson learned from SC 00560356, I suggest improving the documentation and configurability of passwords throughout subsystems of Rosetta installations.

    I suggest creating and maintaining a KB article on how and where to change passwords for:
    - System user "dps"
    - System user "oracle"
    - Oracle user "sys"
    - default Rosetta user "admin1" (John Smith)
    - Cantaloupe Image Server user "admin" (changeable by configuring ".../system.dir/thirdparty/tomcat/rosetta-webapps/cantaloupe.war/cantaloupe.properties")
    - Solr user
    - Rosetta console UI user

    The passwords for Solr and the Rosetta console UI cannot be changed at the moment (Rosetta 5.5.0.0); I suggest considering changes to…

  16. Clean-up job for operational repository file system

    Currently the clean-up job removes old data from deposit storage. Clean up job should clean also Operational Repository / Storage Repository Group file system. Data related to finished SIPs or committed IEs should be remove after some period from the FS path which is configured for operational repository.

    The job should not remove data in TA area.
