All you have to do is ingest metadata validation trong Rosetta: That's what you need to know
Hello everyone,
PolyTrack
As soon as you get to the end of the Rosetta, go to the end of the metadata validation process:Large ingest files often hang or encounter metadata validation errors that are difficult to diagnose.
See what the metadata is like for what you are talking about, where it's from now on.
Current automated workflows sometimes skip important checks, creating risks for the quality of the archived data.
As soon as I get back to the next day:
Is there a workflow that doesn't have to do with what is ingested?
Why can't the metadata validation be…

Add Bulk-Edit Functionality for User Records in Alma
Currently, Alma only allows editing user records one by one. This becomes very time-consuming when libraries need to update information for a large group of users (e.g., changing departments, status, or expiration dates).
I suggest adding a Bulk-Edit User Records feature, enabling administrators to select multiple records and apply the same changes to all. This functionality would:
Save significant time when managing hundreds or thousands of records.
Reduce the risk of manual errors during repetitive edits.
Improve overall efficiency and staff productivity.
The feature could work similarly to Bulk-Edit for inventory, with options to search, filter, and apply group changes…

API updater for Derivative Copy Files
Dear Rosetta Product Team,
At the National Library of Israel, we intend to update DC (Descriptive Metadata) values via the Rosetta API.
The update process works successfully for the Preservation Master, but when attempting to update the Derivative Copy, the request fails with a “Not In Permanent” exception. As confirmed by Rosetta Support, this behavior is currently expected because the updateMD SOAP API method does not support entities stored in the Operational Repository (including Derivative Copy representation files).
We would like to request an enhancement to allow updates of DC values for Derivative Copy representations via API, similar to what…

Coming to Poor Bunny, I cannot help but mention the dense shock barrier effect. Do you think you can overcome the continuous attack of arrows, saw blades, flying bullet systems or shaking weights at the same time..?

Stable synchronization solution between Alma and LMS when metadata changes frequently?
How to optimize data synchronization between Alma and learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle or Canvas, when metadata in Alma changes frequently and there is a risk of display errors or duplicate learning resources on the learning system? Has anyone implemented an effective automated solution?

Bitlife
One of the most surprising things about Bitlife is how quickly it draws you into the illusion of real-life choices—without ever leaving your screen. At first, it seems simple: make decisions, watch the consequences unfold, and try again. But the more you play, the more you realize how cleverly it simulates the unpredictability of life. I’ve lived hundreds of lives in Bitlife—from a struggling artist who ended up in jail, to a billionaire tech mogul who lived to 110. It’s both hilarious and strangely introspective. The game makes you think about cause and effect, about how one small decision—like studying…

Web Services: 1. new argument for SOAP/REST: institution code / 2. general limitation of answers to content of a certain institution
Hello,
we would like to limit the content delivered by a SOAP/REST request to data belonging to a certain institution.
We assume there are several ways to reach this goal.
A first approach could be to introduce a new argument ("institutionCode") similar to producer ID:
<arg2 xmlns=""></arg2> //producerID
as used in e.g. getDepositActivityBySubmitDateRegarding a more fundamental solution:
As a constortial leader we are especially interested in functionalities that support Rosetta's multi-tenancy approach.
Therefore we would welcome a general limitation of web service request answers to content of the institution of the requesting user.
Thanks for your considerations

Rosetta REST API to Retreive IE
Would like a REST API which will retrieve a Rosetta IE METS record
You can retrieve the METS by adding 'dps_func=mets' to the delivery URL -
however, the delivery manager will not deliver the METS information if there is are access rights preventing the delivery of the digital asset
so would like a way to retrieve the METS data regardless of the access rights on the asset

Solr Startup Checker Plugin
After having had some issues with the new default Solr port in Rosetta 5.4.0.0, I suggest creating a startup checker plugin for Rosetta to test for Solr availability. Possible error scenarios involve:
1.) network down
2.) Name resolution down/misconfigured
3.) Solr default port closed in the local firewall / Solr not listening- & 2. could be checked by pinging the other servers' DNS names (NOT the IPs), which would test network availability and DNS resolution in one step. As Rosetta servers usually are located in the same subnet, we don't have to worry about ICMP firewall restrictions.
