3. Options for applying Primo Dedup process selectively

   We want options that can prevent two Alma BIBs from being merged by Primo Dedup Process.
   It could be an option per pipe or local record, or any better method. (Related SF Case# 00872193, etc.)

   e.g.)
   * Alma-P : Dedup OFF
   * Alma-E : Dedup ON
   * CDI : Dedup ON

   Currently Primo runs dedup process for all records. (Please correct me if I am wrong.)
   It is a necessary and useful function for electronic resources - especially for articles- but sometimes not for local print materials.

   Catalogers decide whether to maintain separate BIBs or to merge them based on the phisical/bibliographical differences between similar titles.
   When the decision was made to maintain them separately, it is intended that users will distinguish them and use the one they prefer. We also think it is users' right of selection.
   However, current all-or-nothing process does not allow users to recognize the differences between the similar but unique physical items on different holdings by presenting them in one merged record.

   We would appreciate if you kindly provide us a good solution for that.

4. Option to change Dublic Core normalization rules for collections in BePress' Digital Commons

   Currently items imported from Digital Commons do not display a date because out of the box normalization rules for Dublin Core records will not display the date if the date field ends in Z, which is a timestamp. Since BePress claims it is required to include a timestamp, I am requesting that we can modify normalization rules to display a date with a Z field.

5. Searchable Training Videos

   Enable the content of all training videos to be retrievable when searching the Ex Libris Knowledge Center. This would improve training by making the video content more accessible. By indexing audio transcripts of training videos, customers can more easily retrieve information relevant to their query and help ourselves.

6. Multiple CDI records for one article by the languages of its metadata

   Please do not use language filter when CDI merges records. It creates multiple records for one article, which confuses our patrons. (Case 00881023, 00824833) If CDI cannot merge them well, please provide a kind of "See Also" link to other records which have the same DOI. (CDI e-book records already display "Chapters of this book" link under the availability status.)

   Many of non-English articles have English version metadata too because many journals oblige it. Western aggregators index English metadata whereas local aggregators index local language metadata. The problem is most of times they don't care about the language of the full-text but of metadata. So in those cases the language facet is useless because when our patrons open the full-text of a English record the full-text is actually written in non-English language.

   When one of the records (or both) has linking problems, the situation gets worse. One of my patron was so upset and pointed out it's hard to imagine that somewhere on the search result list there might be another record in different language for the same article. It's understandable, because only the volume and issue number and the page ranges are identical on the list.

   If Primo provides the link to the other records for the same article, it will be more discoverable. The chance is low that the original article and its translated version (if it exists) share the same DOI, so it could be used to create the link.

   Please do not use language filter when CDI merges records. It creates multiple records for one article, which confuses our patrons. 7. Pin Title-Level bibliographic record at top of Newspaper Search results

   Many users at our institution simply want to browse the most recent issue of a newspaper we have a subscription to. They are not searching for specific articles.

   It would benefit our users if the newspaper search results provided easy access directly to the record (and view-online link) for a specific newspaper title. Perhaps this could be similar to the "Highlight Reference Entry On Top" where the appropriate record is pinned to the top of the results.

   So, a Newspaper Search for "New York Times" ought to pin the title-level bibliographic record (that our institution has full access to) to the top, while the article-level records are displayed in the search results.

   Many users at our institution simply want to browse the most recent issue of a newspaper we have a subscription to. They are not searching for specific articles.

8. Make location choice mandatory on the resource sharing form

   If a user has the option of choosing between multiple pickup locations in their resource sharing form, make this field mandatory and the location drop down menu read:

   Choose one: (<--- default choice is no choice)
   Location 1
   Location 2
   Location 3
   Etc.

   Right now, the default is based on a setting that could be, for example, the patron's home library. What I'm specifically requesting is that the default is "Choose one" and that the choosing be mandatory.

9. Separate Reviews from Book Chapters in Related Records Display

   If you turn on the Related Records functionality in Primo VE, you get Chapters and Reviews. There's no way to select only that only chapters or only reviews display. It's both or nothing.

10. Our library would like you to add a second email address option in the dialogue box coming from My basket in order to streamline c & c

    Our library would like you to add a second email address option to those provided in the email dialogue box accessed from My basket so that clients can send a list of items for click and collect to both the Library email and their own email as cc if desired. (Some clients may not wish to use this option, so it should be optional and not essential.)

    Also please add another slot to the dialogue box specifically for the name of the patron to be inserted before the slot for the notes, i.e., Name of patron: John Smith
    This slot should be automatically populated when the dialogue box pops up if possible.

14. Add prm-spinner after patron submits a Request Form

    When patrons submit a request form (Physical Item/Article/Resource Sharing) in Primo VE, there can be a time lag of up to 45 seconds before they get a confirmation message. Before Ex Libris disabled the Send button, patrons were resubmitting the requests during this time lag. Now it appears they are reloading the page and resubmitting request.

    I suggest you simply add an in progress status with a spinner so patrons get a visual cue that the form submission is in progress and they just need to be a little patient.

15. auto announcement for maintenance or outage

    We would like to see built into Primo (all flavors NUI/VE etc) an auto announcement banner when there is scheduled maintenance or major outage.

    We would also like the message that it displays to be customizable via a table in the back office.

    This would help to alleviate an extremely manual process that we currently do with pulling the cloud notification emails and entering in text and dates manually to be displayed in Primo. It makes more sense to have this be an automatic process much like the emails sent out by cloud services.

16. Ability to see full bib info in Collection Discovery Resource Editor

    Greetings,

    We are using Collection Discovery to highlight new and significant items in the collection for medical specialties and topics, but the Collection Resource Editor doesn't show the pub date, making it hard to main maintain meaningful and up-to-date title lists. I'm talking about this (see attached). It would be helpful to see the publisher and pub date.

17. No-contact pickup option for hold form.

    Add a field to the hold form so patrons can indicate that they want no-contact / curbside pickup of their requested item instead of coming inside the location they selected. Allow it to default as checked.

18. add abstracts scanning in scrolling view

    When Primo (now Promo VE) switched from a book catalog interface to a journal (Central Index) database interface, one new functionality was desired/required by researchers.
    The ability to toggle on/off viewing Abstracts in the results is an important option for real-time exploration. Many scholars perform a preliminary scan of titles to remove obvious non-matches, but they then prefer to view the abstracts from
    possibly important materials before downloading items into their personal databases. What is missing is the ability to select scrolling through records with the abstracts in view. This could either be added as an option on the initial Display Records view or from the Pinned records options. It would be much preferred on the initial display screen, as this would remove one round of selection effort. Almost all other journal index search tools have this option.

19. Configure collection discovery to display in shelflist order

    We are using Collection Discovery to create new books browsing for our top subject areas but it would be great if they could display in shelflist order so like books group together.
    What we really want is a low maintenance bookshelf browse feature which auto populates with new resources and removes the old. Anyway, display in LCC or some shelflist order would be good, even if the call number is hidden (because many are ebooks and it might confuse patrons).
