  2. Provide institutions with the ability to systematically boost the ranking of Subscribed PCI collections over Open Access PCI collections

Often, there are multiple versions of an article offered in Primo. The different versions might be the result of having access through paid subscriptions and open access collections. However, there is currently no effective way for an institution to give systematic preference to the type of collection they want their patrons to see first. We request the ability to systematically boost the ranking of Subscribed PCI collections over Open Access PCI collections.

  3. Second sort in facets

Currently, Primo shows the items in the facets (e.g. the subjects facet) either sorted alphabetically or by the number of items.
However, it seems to order the items randomly when the number of items is identical for several different subject heading in the facet.
It would be beneficial to be able to configure a secondary sort option for these items (for example when using a multilingual subject heading system - to present the same subject in both language one after the other).

  4. Add a list of suggestions to zero result searches in the A-Z Journals list

It is not possible to display a list of suggestions when a user retrieves zero results for a search in the A-Z Journals list. However, it is possible in Primo simple and advanced search. It would be beneficial to provide users with a distinct list of suggestions if they retrieve zero results in the A-Z journals list.

  5. Please make the MARC bib. 245 subfield p from the bibliographic record available.

The MARC 245 subfield p from the bibliographic record is not exposed to Primo. This means that the data in the b245p is not available to display to users in the My Account section of Primo, as part of the requesting process and on pull slips for items. This becomes important when the items have 245a data that is the same. For example, when a video game has the same name with more info in the 245p like the ones below.
    b245a b245p
    Angry birds. Star Wars
    Angry birds. Trilogy
    Assassin's creed. Brotherhood
    Assassin's creed. Revelations
    Batman. Arkham Asylum
    Batman.…

  6. Configuring brief display for different formats

It would be useful to be able to configure different fields to display in the brief results for different formats within Primo.

  7. Browse by physical location in Primo

In Primo, it is not currently possible to browse by physical location & in our previous system, we were able to do so. For instance, from http://primo.rollins.edu/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?fn=showBrowse&mode=BrowseSearch&vid=01RC&tab=books_tab&dscnt=0&dstmp=1467208388734 we would like to have the option to browse by one of our locations, for instance For example, I would like to see what titles we have in Rare Special or Rare Florida Collections, but I do not see from the browse menu.

we would like to be able to somehow browse by a given physical location in Primo without doing a keyword or title search for a particular item.

  8. Stop the difference in the item display between Alma and Primo when the description field is filled in

I would like to see all monograph items display as such in the Primo location tab.
Currently if an item (even if tagged elsewhere as a one time monograph) contains anything in the Items description field Primo is treating the item as a serial.
For an explanation of how Primo does this see the following knowledge center article: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Knowledge_Articles/Difference_in_the_item_display_between_Alma_and_Primo_when_the_description_field_is_filled_in

This is a problem as it prevents users from easily seeing the availability information.
See for example the attached screenshot where the number of available titles does not display.

Please change the logic in Primo so that it does not treat…

  9. Holdingsfile should take into account the holdings of physical items

In our Primo we have set up that only articles that you have access to is presented in the first result-list, but that you can remove this filter by checking the tick box on the left to include result that you do not have access to.

Currently only the holdingf for electronic journals are taken into account. If the library has only the physical journal the article will not be part of the first search result. It will look like the library does not have this article, when the truth is that the user could get it in print.

    The…

  10. PCI to recognise the elements of a DOI to find the item

Errors in search results are likely to occur when users are searching for DOIs from citations. DOIs are often formatted differently in citations or online but the user will naturally just copy-paste the DOI as it appears. If the user searches for this 10.1016/j.acalib.2008.10.014 in Primo Central - you find the article. However if you search for http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.acalib.2008.10.014 as it might be displayed in a citation, the article is not found. Anything preceding the DOI registry number (including doi:10.1016 for eg) will not result in a successful search.
