Your feedback matters to us. Help us to extend our discovery indexes, KnowledgeBases and Community Zone by telling us what collections and data you’d like to see us add, using the message areas below. You can also support something already posted.
If you are suggesting new content for Discovery that is not yet in the Knowledgebase you do not need to submit two entries (one for Discovery and one for Knowledgebase)
Specifically you can suggest:
• New collections for Discovery (Primo Central and Summon)
• New collections for the Knowledgebase (Alma CZ, SFX KB and 360 KB)
• New authority files to be added to the Community Zone
• Enrichment of Community Zone bibliographic records for certain collections

We would love to be able to respond to every idea that is submitted, but this is not feasible. We are, however, committed to responding to the most popular ideas—those that have received the most points.
For more information please review our FAQ and guidelines. Thank you.

  1. Add Firenze University press open access book collection

Firenze University Press publishes the outcomes of academic research carried out by the University of Florence and by the national scientific community, with the aim at spreading them both at national and international levels.
A certain number of these works are included in the open access catalogue.
All publications are certified by the Editorial Board that coordinates the peer review process.

It's possible harvesting data via OAI-PMH.

  2. Idunn open access e-books

    Idunn open access e-books

We would like to see open access e-books from Universitetsforlaget added as a separate e-collection in Alma CZ. For more details, see this link:
    https://www.universitetsforlaget.no/en/boker/apen-tilgang

Note that there are two Idunn e-collections in CZ already:
    Idunn.no (all Idunn portfolios)
    IDUNN Open Acess Journals

  5. Need up-to-date 'Westlaw Thomson Reuters' CZ Selective Package

There is no up-to-date ‘Westlaw Thomson Reuters’ Selective Package in the Community Zone. This Westlaw database has had much flux over recent years, including name changes.
Due to internal changes of where particular content is kept in the database, even in the most recent CZ Selective Packages many parser parameter links need to be updated.

  7. Add Ebooks Minnesota collection to Alma CZ and Primo Central

Please add the Ebooks Minnesota collection to both the Alma CZ and the Primo Central Index. This collection is freely accessible to all people located in the state of Minnesota and is therefore used by every Minnesota library (public, K12, higher ed, etc.). The MARC records are available from Minitex: https://mndigital.org/projects/ebooks-minnesota/faq#marc

  8. Open Textbook Catalog: Please use direct feed of MARC records from https://open.umn.edu/opentextbooks/discovery

In the CZ there is an existing collection (613790000000001601) for the Open Textbook Catalog.

Compared to the MARC records available at https://open.umn.edu/opentextbooks/discovery the CZ collection has fewer titles (651 vs 766 as of 07/13/2020).

Also the CZ bibliographic records are extremely brief and usually have nothing more than a title in the 245 field. The bib records from open.umn.edu are fuller with author, title, publisher, content and summary notes and subject headings.

This request is to ask Exlibris to use the publicly available MARC bib records from the open.umn.edu website to enhance the existing CZ collection.

    Thank you.

  10. F-Mesh in MARC21

F-Mesh is a bilingual French/English version of the Medical Subject Headings (Mesh).
We are a French speaking Library network using MARC21. We were very happy to hear that Alma now includes F-Mesh as a subject headings vocabulary. However, as it is available only in UNIMARC, we cannot use it. If you are in the same situation, then don’t hesitate to vote for this Idea!

  12. Add Learning Express to Discovery, KB and Alma Community Zone

  15. PCI / CDI: Please make sure that Open Access archives are really OA

In Primo Central Index / Central Discovery Index, some archives are incorrectly referred to as Open Access.

Please check the availability of documents in Open Access archives with "Link in record". If these archives sometimes also contain blocked documents or only title pages, tables of contents or abstracts, please split these archives into several collections, e.g. Open Access and Restricted Access.

Records which link only to title pages, tables of contents or abstracts should not appear in Open Access collections with "Link in record".

    Example:
    Open Access LMU (https://epub.ub.uni-muenchen.de)
Auf "Open Access LMU" finden Sie 64725 verzeichnete Publikationen…

  16. Springer Nature Open Access Community Zone Electronic Collection

This is a request to add a single free/open access collection for all Springer Nature free/open access journals. Currently there are 4 community zone collections in Alma with many overlaps:

    SpringerOpen Free - (CKB)613170000000000044

BioMed Central open Access - (CKB)611000000000000500

Bacon Springer Nature Global Open Access - (CKB)613780000000000900
Springer Nature Oa Journals - (CKB)614910000000000075

We’d like the addition of one single consolidated collection because having the above 4 collections is unnecessarily confusing for students and staff as they currently encounter so many electronic collections for the same journal/article even when different community zone electronic collection links in Primo end up…

It would be very useful to have this database searchable in Primo Central Index.
