Your feedback matters to us. Help us to extend our discovery indexes, KnowledgeBases and Community Zone by telling us what collections and data you’d like to see us add, using the message areas below. You can also support something already posted.
If you are suggesting new content for Discovery that is not yet in the Knowledgebase you do not need to submit two entries (one for Discovery and one for Knowledgebase)
Specifically you can suggest:
• New collections for Discovery (Primo Central and Summon)
• New collections for the Knowledgebase (Alma CZ, SFX KB and 360 KB)
• New authority files to be added to the Community Zone
• Enrichment of Community Zone bibliographic records for certain collections

We would love to be able to respond to every idea that is submitted, but this is not feasible. We are, however, committed to responding to the most popular ideas—those that have received the most points.
For more information please review our FAQ and guidelines. Thank you.

  2. Add books from Proquest's Oasis database to PCI

We are recommending Primo to our users as the route to suggest new books for purchase. However, PCI is not great for books, unless they are part of a publisher's e-book collection.

Proquest have their own database of books in print via Oasis - this would be a fantastic addition to PCI and would greatly facilitate purchase requests or resource sharing requests via Primo.

  5. PCI / CDI: Please make sure that Open Access archives are really OA

In Primo Central Index / Central Discovery Index, some archives are incorrectly referred to as Open Access.

Please check the availability of documents in Open Access archives with "Link in record". If these archives sometimes also contain blocked documents or only title pages, tables of contents or abstracts, please split these archives into several collections, e.g. Open Access and Restricted Access.

Records which link only to title pages, tables of contents or abstracts should not appear in Open Access collections with "Link in record".

    Example:
    Open Access LMU (https://epub.ub.uni-muenchen.de)
Auf "Open Access LMU" finden Sie 64725 verzeichnete Publikationen…

Adding this to Summon Index is highly desired.

  7. Westlaw UK - Journals

Currently there is a collection in PCI that gives access to the Westlaw Journals, but there is no collection for only Full text access (the current collection gives links to both full text and abstract). We would like a collection for Full text only.

    Dear Dana McFarland,

A new comment was received for case #00740133:

Case Title: Journal title: Decolonization: Indigeneity, Education & Society - Content not included in Summon Index?

    Last comment:
    Hi Dana,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

It does indeed looks like we do not currently have any article-level records for the journal Decolonization: Indigeneity, Education & Society (ISSN: 1929-8692) in the…

  9. E-Journal target for SFX: JSTOR_SUSTAINABILITY_JOURNALS

We are proposing to create a new target for the JSTOR-collection "Sustainability Journals" with the name: JSTORSUSTAINABILITYJOURNALS

The SFX target JSTORSUSTAINABILITYJOURNALSANDRESEARCH_REPORTS (4577 portfolios) exists already but cannot be activated when the journals-only collection is available at an institution.
Therefore its necessary to have an Journals-only target in SFX as well.

The title list with its 111 titles can be found here:
    https://www.jstor.org/librarians/products/thematic-collections/sustainability/

  10. Cambridge EBA - please add collection to CKB

Please add a collection for Cambridge EBA titles. Not all titles are available for EBA, so currently the options are to not activate (certainly not ideal), activate the collection for all Cambridge e-books and live with having titles active to which we don't have access (leads to user frustration), or activating collection for all Cambridge e-books and then deactivating the titles to which we don't have access (we don't have the staff time for that.)

  12. F-Mesh in MARC21

F-Mesh is a bilingual French/English version of the Medical Subject Headings (Mesh).
We are a French speaking Library network using MARC21. We were very happy to hear that Alma now includes F-Mesh as a subject headings vocabulary. However, as it is available only in UNIMARC, we cannot use it. If you are in the same situation, then don’t hesitate to vote for this Idea!

  14. Bloomberg Law

Bloomberg Law (https://www.bloomberglaw.com) is a major platform for American legal content, including books, journals, news channels, and other sources. Please add an Alma CZ collection covering the Bloomberg Law content made available by subscription to academic law libraries.

Please also explore the possibility of using Bloomberg Law MARC records to enrich the CZ records: https://www.bna.com/marc-records-bloomberg-m17179934017 Without enriched CZ records, libraries that are currently loading vendor records for this collection are likely to continue doing so rather than use a CZ collection.

Also, the linking and title lists of the following BNA e-collections are outdated. Bloomberg has shut down…

  15. Add OPUS FAU, the Open Access Repository of Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU, incl. FAU University Press)

The online publication system OPUS FAU is the central electronic publication platform of Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU - one of the largest universities in Germany, it ranks 2nd among the most innovative European universities).

OPUS FAU contains qualified scientific works (cf. our content guidelines https://opus4.kobv.de/opus4-fau/home/index/help#policies) from research and teaching and all contents from the university publishing house FAU University Press, too (cf. https://www.university-press.fau.de/index-en.shtml and https://opus4.kobv.de/opus4-fau/solrsearch/index/search/searchtype/collection/id/16224).

International Monetary Fund content is now free. Could you add eLibrary.IMF.org as a database? It contains books, reports and journals. MARC records are available.

  19. Direct ingestion of Burlington Magazine (ISSN 0007-6287)

Some articles from this key art journal are categorised as citation-only in our Instance of Summon, when full text is available. This is apparently because the journal is not directly ingested. Can direct ingestion be introduced for this title?
