Add Elsevier Open Access Collection to Alma CZ
We would like to see a collection for Elsevier Open Access Journals (including coverage statements) in Alma CZ. As is, these titles are activated in the Elsevier autoload collection. However this collection has to be proxied in order to provide our patrons with off-campus access to subscribed content. All Elsevier OA-titles are thus behind institutional log in if accessed via Primo or linkresolver.
Hello,
The collections ScienceDirect Complimentary Free Access Books and ScienceDirect Open Access Titles from the provider Elsevier are no longer being updated.
This means that we cannot support these as separate fulltext collections with title lists in our Delivery products.
For our 360 customers, in order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata all titles were removed and the databases were hidden as of December 2020.
For more information on this, please see: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/360_KB/Knowledge_Articles/360_KB%3A_ScienceDirect_Complimentary_Free_Access_Books_Database_and_ScienceDirect_Open_Access_Titles%3A_Titles_Will_Be_Removed_--_December_2020
At this time we will close this request. Should a title list become available we can review this request again.
Thank you for your contribution!
Best,
Rael

This is still a real request. OA title Example: ISSN:1944-9097 Journal of food protection https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/journal-of-food-protection This electronic journal title should be in a Community Zone Elsevier Open Access Electronic Collection. More titles exist this is just one example.

Totally agreed.

I couldn't agree more. Elsevier's former Open Access Journals collection was heavily used in my years of experience with SFX and since June 2020 with Alma/PrimoVE.

This is an excellent idea, as Elsevier titles are very reputable. Identifying the titles that are strictly OpenAccess would be much more convenient for librarians and users as well.

I strongly support this idea. Because Ex Libris will not add OA titles from major vendors to the Free E-Journals collection, and because of the decreased quality of metadata from DOAJ, it is especially important that major vendors that offer OA content (such as Elsevier) have their own OA collections in Alma.
