  1. Related items functionality should be implemented separately for journal articles and book chapters so you can opt in separately.

We need the ability to turn off Chapters until it works properly. The book Reviews tab isn't an issue.

  2. Add link to local e-content that is owned by the library and may not be part of a subscription or database.

Local e-content (pdf of purchased document; link to digitized image collections; link to proprietary capstone papers; etc.) should be easily located with a SUMMON search.

  3. Improve the COinS metadata to include e-book URLs

Add ebook URLs to the Summon COinS metadata so it can be included when importing a bookmark or reference into other systems.

The COinS metadata available in the HTML of a Summon results page includes valuable information such as record ID, title, ISBN but it doesn't include the e-book URL. This is a problem if you want to bookmark items to Zotero, Talis reading lists or other systems.

  4. Request link on catalog details page should not display for electronic only material

For libraries that have switched on the catalog details page, they have the option to configure a Request link.

This button displays on all records from the catalog, even if they are not requestable - for example if they are online only, the button still appears.

For example, this book is only available electronically (but the request link (Place hold button) is displaying then you get an error on the LMS side when you try to request it):

The dragon and the elephant : China, India, and the new world order

This setting should be configurable to only display…

  5. Improve holdings display for journals in Summon or turn off catalog details page based on material types

We're looking for ways to improve the way holdings display for journals in Summon.

We're screen scraping Real Time Availability for our books, but our journals just display "Check availability" and link through to the OPAC (because the records have a different structure).

We would like to turn on the catalog details page, but this adds an additional click for users before they can actually see our journal holdings.

For example, here is a journal record in our OPAC (we have print and electronic on the same record):
    http://librarycatalogue.griffith.edu.au/record=b1551062~S1

    and in Summon preview

    http://griffith.preview.summon.serialssolutions.com/#!/search/document?ho=t&l=en-AU&q=landscape%20architecture%20australia&id=FETCHMERGED-griffith_catalog_b155106213

Whereas the ebook displays a bit…

  6. Allow users to browse the "Virtual Shelf"

The Virtual Shelf tab would appear for each record on the search results page. It would allow users to browse items based on the location of an item in the search results. Then the user could navigate through items "on the shelf".

  10. Library Locations > Translation in english

The library's locations are currently displayed in German only. We would like to add the English terms.

With the language setting "German" the locations should be displayed in German - as it is currently. In addition, the terms of the locations should be displayed in English in the language setting "English".

  11. Licence terms displayed in Summon search results

We would like to see the same functionality in Summon as is currently available in Primo - licence terms being visible in search results within the Summon interface.

As we are on Intota for our ERM, we would want to see Intota licence content linked to Summon search results and displaying there.

  12. Increase Facet Limit

Summon facets are currently limited to only display 100 values for performance reasons. Would it be possible to increase this or ideally remove the limit without causing performance issues?

  13. Add DOI registered by other registration agencies than CrossRef to "Citation Trail".

It seems that recent "Citation trail" is referring DOI registered by CrossRef.
But there are many publishers and universities in the world which use DOI registered by other registration agencies like JaLC, KISTI, CNKI and so on. It would be beneficial for Summon users in the world if it could be realized.

  14. Option to toggle WoS / Scopus citation counts in search results

It would be good if we could choose to make either WoS or Scopus citation counts visible in Summon, instead of having to have either both or neither switched on.

Because we no longer subscribe to WoS but do subscribe to Scopus, the only way we could get WoS citation counts removed from the Summon search results was to untrack Web of Science in Intota. We don't like to untrack resources that we've previously subscribed to, because doing so means we can't see any of the historical data attached to Web of Knowledge collection databases. This is just how Intota…

  15. Integrate NII's "cites/cited by" Information to Citation Trail

NII(National Institute for Informatics) provides "cites/cited by" Information.
    https://support.nii.ac.jp/ja/cia/manual_result
It is very desireble to integrate this "cites/cited by" information to "Citation Trail", for there is not much Japanese article information in current "Citation Trail".

  16. Add "Search within journals"

I'd like to cross-search between multiple journals I designate.
There is "Search within a journal," but it's only for one journal. Please add the facet for multiple journals or the function something like that.

  17. Fix EZproxy rewriting on altmetric links

Citation count links to Web of Science and Scopus are rewritten under an EZproxy session but links to altmetric are not. 18. Automatic holdings update message

Change the link behind the 'New!xx/xx/2019' message that displays when Ebook Central Perpetual and DDA automatic holdings have been updated so that the link displays the updated titles themselves, not the summary screen of total titles held in the package.

It's not possible currently to easily identify which titles have been added on that date to match against Libcentral & ensure all the titles we have access to display in Summon

  19. Minimise requests by patrons for locally subscribed content by filtering via Summon Citation Linker

As a small team processing many document delivery requests, it would be good to minimize the number of requests for items already held in locally subscribed e-journals. Proposing that citation details entered via a local online form could be submitted to the Summon Citation Linker for checking and identification of subscribed content. If held, a return to the patron of a link to the full-text content would be provided. If item is not subscribed, form information is forwarded to library staff as usual. Would greatly benefit both the requester who can receive access to required content instantly and also library…

  20. Apply the same tag to multiple Best Bets

We enter our databases as Best Bets and add tags for their title and title variations. There are a few instances where we have multiple collections with similar title variations, such as Joanna Briggs Institute. It would be a great improvement if we could add the same tag to multiple Best Bets and have all of them display when that tag is searched; this would also be more consistent with how our database entries in our 'classic catalogue' can be searched.
