Stop match and merge for client catalog records.
We suggest a fully supported, optional, product feature to stop match and merge for client catalog records.
In the result list of Summon where there are several links to resources, the titles are linked to only one resource, which most of the time is good. However when a print record from the local catalog is merged with an e-book, the link most often lead to the e-book and we have noticed that the print version of the book is very often not noticed by the user. Our library have no e-books in our local catalog so we would very much like to keep catalog records from matching and merging. - KLAR In the result list of Summon where there are several links to resources, the titles are linked to only one resource, which most of the time is good. You can now stop match and merge for your catalog records. In the Summon Admin Console, under Content Ingestion > Catalog Merge Settings, simply drag and drop your catalog from the Include column to the Exclude column. If you have used this feature and have feedback, please send it to us!

Since we turned on the detail page i Summon this is no longer a problem for us at Uppsala university (we suggested this from the start). In the detail page, print and electronic are presented in a much clearer way there.
However we have now included a new suggestion in Idea exchange: Stop match and merge different editions from local catalog
https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/564566-summon/suggestions/34084270-stop-match-and-merge-different-editions-from-local
This case is about when records from different editions from the local catalog merges when included in the Summon index. -

It makes sense to have the option available, at least - it might be helpful with testing how records show up in Summon too.

We (generally) have separate records in our OPAC for print and electronic. They are then merged back together in Summon. From a user perspective, we think a merged record is the ideal, however we have the same issue as described here. The print version of the book is often missed because clicking on the title takes you to the electronic version. For example:
1. Search for "The SAGE handbook of case-based methods"
http://griffith.summon.serialssolutions.com/#!/search?ho=t&l=en-AU&q=%22The%20SAGE%20handbook%20of%20case-based%20methods%222. Click on the title and you are taken to a record for the ebook
3. The print book is visible in the Summon search results, but easy to miss
This can be mitigated a little by turning on the Summon catalog detail page.
I do not think we would choose to stop matching and merging here, but can see this is a problem for other institutions.
