Revise display logic so that collection names do not display as corporate authors
Based on the MARC 21 standards, collection names are in the 710 field. For example:
710 2 Alumni Ph.D./Th.D. Collection (Princeton Theological Seminary)
As in https://catalog.ptsem.edu/record=b3319515~S1
This is a typical way that most libraries handle their collection names. However, the current Summon mapping and display rules result in the collection name appearing as the author in the search results when there is not a main author for the work: https://go.exlibris.link/DZxpskWX

Chat Widget Obstructs Functionality on Small Screens
Hi,
I have noticed that the Springshare V2 LibChat widget covers the "New Search" and sorting options on small screens (see attached image). It would be helpful if the widget moved to a location where it does not cover any functionalities, such as horizontally in the top right corner.
While I know that the widget's position can be adjusted to sit next to other menu icons, we prefer the right positioning on large screens. It would be a significant improvement if this issue could be addressed.
Kind regards,

Summon UI Language to Be Transferred to Catalog UI
Could you please make it available to configure language condition to the link from Summon to Catalog?
This request is from a Japanese university.
For example, it is preferable that a record on Summon (UI: English) leads to Catalog page of English version. Currently it is led to the default Japanese Catalog page even though Summon UI language is English.18 votes -
Customisable Snippet size
We would like to be able to customise the Snippet size in the Administration Console.
Snippet size for search results has a fixed length, displaying a short text that makes it difficult to assess the relevance of a specific search result.
In order to expand the viewable section of the snippet/abstract, it would be useful to have a customizable length of characters for the snippet in the Administration Console.

Display Language Filter after search in default search language
Currently the Language Filter on the left hand side of the search results displays (some) languages in their original language and character encoding (see: 日本語, 한국어, ไทย...) while other languages in the facet/filter are displayed in English (English, Japanese, Korean...).
Allow the Language Filter to be metadata independent, displaying language results consistently in the default search language (English, German, etc.)5 votes -
CDI Display Document Attributes
The "CDI Display Document Attributes" functionality in Primo allows preprints to be labelled. There is an ongoing problem in Summon where aggregators and publishers use the same electronic collections but provide a different level of access. Especially with preprints - which look like broken links because aggregators dont provide them but they are included in results because publishers do.
This functionality could identify preprints so users would have a better idea of why they can't access them.
Can this functionality please be made available to Summon users?

date limiter buttons - keep the end date open rather than automatically entering a value of today's date
issue with the "quick pick" date limiter options (1 year, 3 years, etc.) - a "hard" end date is set (today's date) which is invisible to the user unless they click the pencil icon, meaning any results with future publication dates will be excluded from the search results. It's really common for journal articles to show a publication date in the future, and the way the date shortcut buttons are configured, any such articles will not be include in the results. We believe this is counter to what users expect when they use date limiters, and in particular the "shortcut"…

Link Summon to Alma Sandbox
As Summon over Alma customer, we request Summon Preview Environment is link to Alma Sandbox.
For example, the link "My Library Account" is linked to "https://.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/account?vid=*****_INST:Services§ion=overview&lang=e now.
However, the link should be going to Sandbox.3 votes -
Availability in Location Items section
For a journal, each value in the calculated availability is calculated independently, based on the lowest and highest value of the items, even if they do not come from the same items.
I.E: if we have the following items:
2022,1 to 2022,4 and 2023,1in Summon the availability is displayed with:
from:1 2022 until:4 2023instead of
from:1 2022 until:1 2023We would like change the summary calculation in availability.

removing the red “-1” Content Type exclusion indicator
suggest removing the red “-1” Content Type exclusion indicator. We feel it comes across to users like a warning or error – an alert that is negative in nature. The navy “Selected” box at the top of the facet pane is a much friendlier and more useful indicator, and the exclusions are well marked in the Content type list itself, so the red “-1” indicator feels redundant and potentially misleading. If removing it isn't possible or palatable, please allow it to be disabled in the Summon admin module.

Go directly from Quick Look window to journal page
Some journal records have link to the 360 Core results screen on the Quick Look window.
It would be better if it were possible to go directly from the Quick Look window to journal page without going through 360 Core screen. Please see the atteched.6 votes -
Filtering Journals based on Indexing like ABDC, ABS, FT 50, Web of Scince, SCOPUS, Both Scopus & WOS
Filtering Journals based on Indexing like ABDC, ABS, Web of Scince, SCOPUS, Both Scopus & WOS
As this filter option is necessary for the research scholars & faculty members literature review purposes. They focus on particular category journals for literature search.
We would appreciate it if you could take forward this suggestion to your development team.
I will be happy to support & provide the necessary data for this implementation process.

Scrolling improvement on facet pane
When the screen is scrolled to the bottom of the search results list, the refinement function is not visible. It is desirable to be able to scroll facet portion and search result display portion independently.

resizeable Logo in Saved Search Email
It would be great if the email sent when a user clicks on the Saved Search option used a size appropriate logo.
At present it looks like it uses the largest logo imaginable and makes the whole thing look like it was made in GCSE computing class. Its not very professional looking.
At least a Saved Searches email logo option in the Summon admin would be a start.2 votes -

No information on the necessity to use parentheses in complex queries on Summon Search Query Help
Currently, there is no information about the necessity to use parentheses in case of more complex search queries in the Summon Search Query help (at least in our library and I was told that the help page is the same around the world). Users who often use Google Scholar as a rule of thumb do not use parentheses because Google works well even without them but in case of Summon, the use of parentheses in more complex queries is essential.
Even on ExLibris Knowledge Center web (page Summon: Phrase, Field, Boolean, Wildcard and Proximity Searching - https://tinyurl.com/2fy5sx2h) it is…35 votes -
Add an option to limit "Print resource"
Summon has the refinement to filter the results to print books. We need an option to limit "Print resource" (not only book, but also, print journals, microfilms ...).
Especially, Print journal is important for the customer Summon over Alma, since former ILS had it.8 votes -
Remove double separator for more identifiers (hardcoded)
Remove double separator when the bib record has more same identifiers:
I.E.: for two ISBN, Summon display the separator ;,
ISBN 0521451639;, ISBN 0521466903 (pbk.)The display of the identifiers in the Summon Over Alma services page is hard coded by design, so it is not possible to modify the display of the delimiter in the Brief record.

Make use of BL or LC Name Authority Headings
Users would like to be able to differentiate between authors of the same name when searching Summon, using the Name Authority headings already available in the BL or LC catalogues/name authority indexes:
https://lccn.loc.gov/n2007182995
HEADING: Kelly, Daniel, 1959-They can do this in our library catalogue, and expect the same in Summon
