  1. Allow Cite It to work on a PDF open in browser

Cite It cannot be used to import details for an online PDF which is open in your browser window. Such items must be added manually in Leganto.

In Chrome, nothing happens when you click the bookmarklet from an open PDF. In Firefox, the CIte It popup window appears but is not populated with any citation details.

A Salesforce case about this was previously escalated to Ex Libris Product Management, but they have advised that it should be pursued as an enhancement request.

  2. Improve Leganto linking when user isn't already logged in

We've recently gone live with Leganto and Ex Libris have advised we come here with this issue. Students cannot use the Permalinks function to link to individual lists/items, and we expect users are going to just copy or bookmark Leganto URLs from the browser bar instead, but those URLs don’t seem to work at all unless the user is already in toLeganto. If they're not already logged in, trying to access a Leganto URL just makes the browser try unsuccessfully to load the page, and the browser eventually times out and produces errors. This is apparently expected behavior due to…

  3. Filters/sorting/duplicates

    Filters/sorting/duplicates

It is possible to look for citations within Alma’s persistent searchbox, but we would prefer a sorting function (A-Z) or a searchbox within a list. This would help looking for a citation while staying in a readinglist. Furthermore, it would help to detect unintended duplicates which have been added from, for example, ‘My Collection’ AND Repository Search AND Zotero. Or is it possible to mark duplicated citations?

  5. Language as part of citation

We would like that the language of the document to be part of the citations. In a non-english speaking country as Norway there are political interest to see how much of the reading are in Norwegian and how much that are in other languages.

Language is a part of the records in Alma, and also for the records that are fetched from Primo, so it should be possible populate automatically a vast majority of the (new) records added to a list if there is a field for language.

It must also be possible to generate reports in analytics based on…

  7. Allow ability to enable Library Discussion at citation level only and deactivate at list level

We would like the ability to be able to choose whether Library Discussion is activated at list level, citation level, or both.

The scenario for this is that we currently use library discussion at the citation level for academics to request titles to be transferred to our High Demand collection, but have found that some are using the discussion at list level for other enquiries. Discussions added at list level do not generate a notification and can be missed by library staff, unless they go into the reading list in Alma and check for notes. Ideally we would like the…

  9. Improve usability of Get It in citation view (when primove_getit = true)

At present the size of the iframe for availability of physical resources is not customisable. It is of such a size that if the user wants to make use of request forms, or there are many holdings it entails scrolling.

It would be great if this area was responsive rather than fixed size, but even being able to customise the size might help in the interim.

    Illustration: https://www.screencast.com/t/2RR7s2OVm

With primove_getit = false a responsive experience exists, but it has it's own usability issues and we want a consistence experience between Primo VE and Leganto and do not want to manage…

  11. Adding a collaborator needs to assign instructor role

Faculty want to add a collaborator. They can only see users who already have the instructor role, so they can't add the collaborator. That means they have to notify the library to add the role which holds them up from their work on the list.

They should be able to search for a specific user, add them as collaborator and that should assign the instructor role (the way it does when we load courses).

Not all our reserves staff have the User Manager role, so if we have to deal with this manually we will have to give all reserve…

  12. Leganto Instructor Rollover - Allow citation "Additional Resource Information" to be copied to the rolled over list

As library staff, I would like the "Additional Resource Information" for Citations to be copied to the rolled over list, so that I can keep the additional sources for the citation (in addition to the source in the Resource Information area) I manually added to citations in the original list.

    Current Behaviour:
    1. Rollover the list
    2. Find out which Citations have Additional Resource Information
    3. Manually add the "Additional Resource Information" source information to the Citations in the rolled over list

    Proposed Behaviour;
    1. Rollover the list, Additional Resource Information is copied through to the new list

  15. Support associating a reading list to a course via an API or similar

Alma/Leganto supports associating a reading list to multiple courses, but only manually, using the Alma interface.

Please support associating an existing reading list to an existing course via an API, or a batch job or some other mechanism that can be automated.

Without such a functionality, it is impossible to effectively integrate the feature "associating reading lists with multiple courses" with external systems, thus rendering it much less viable.

  16. Display book chapter title for book chapter citations in the Edit Reading List screen

When a citation has the material type of 'Book chapter' we would like the book chapter title to display for the citation in the Edit Reading List page. Currently we need to click Edit and scroll down to find this simple and necessary piece of information. It is also missing from the 'Citation details' tab of the citation. Often, we have multiple book chapter citations for the same book in the reading list. These citations appear identical in the current display so displaying the book chapter title as well as the book title will help distinguish these citations and improve…

  17. Automatically create first section when creating a list

All lists have at least one section, meaning creating the first section is a mandatory step. This step could be automated, and the first section created instantly as the list is created.
The tooltip could be used to inform about how to edit the title (not strictly necessary), instead of how to create the section (mandatory).

An alternative would be to offer a template out of the box with one section, replacing the existing blank template.

  19. Automatically close "Edit menu" after clicking "Set complete"

When clicking "Set complete" while editing a resource in brief view, the edit menu does not automatically close itself as it does with most other options. This generates an extra click in order to get to the next item on the list. Could the edit menu be automatically closes when clicking "Set complete"?

  20. Display usage relevant to citation type in List Analysis

Student usage of a citation is only generated if a student interacts with a citation, such as by opening the citation in full view. For some citation types, this does not present a meaningful view of usage.

For example, for print citations, it would be more relevant to display number of loans for the print copies, rather than evaluating usage purely on how many times the full citation has been viewed. Usage for fields such as Student Full Text Views are also not relevant for this citation type.

Usage shown in List Analysis should either be relevant across all citation…
