Recommender for standing expressions (that have little or nothing in common with an actual title)
We are switching from Ebsco Discovery Service EDS to Primo VE this year. One functionality that EDS offers - and that seems to be lacking in Primo VE - is the Item Exact Match Recommender https://cloud.ebsco.com/apps/item-exact-match-recommender-custom-data-file-driven
We use this mainly for documents that are widely known by a standing expression that will not help when doing a search for this expression with Primo.
Examples:
1) "Metzger" refers to the document "Lern- und Arbeitsstrategien" by Christoph Metzger. No one knows the title, but everybody knows the standing expression.
2) Decisions by the Swiss Supreme Court, "Bundesgerichtsentscheide" - hardly anyone knows that…6 votesHello All,

Collection Discovery tiles should display the pub dates of items
A pub date should appear on the tile even if there is no room for a long title and it would need to be abbreviated. Then, complete bibliographic citation information (at least title, author, publisher, date) should appear when the user mouses over the tile. Also, LC order to simulate a bookshelf browse would be nice.
Our plan is to use Collection Discovery to create collections of new and significant publications in the disciplines to encourage browsing. Providing just the book cover and title and not in LC order is limiting.

Provide a subject area in Analytics that lets us report on hotswap/indexing.
Every so often we find out from our cataloging staff that after several pipe/index cycles records are still not appearing in our Primo instance. We then go to Primo BO and find that records haven't hotswapped or indexed in several days (sometimes longer). We would like to KNOW when this happens. Primo Analytics provides reports on Pipes and on PNX/FRBR-Dedup cycles, but NOT hotswap/index cycles. The only way we can know if this is slowed or stopped is if a staff member happens to report it to us. It would be very useful to have a subject area in Analytics…

Add 956 field to the Links area of the Detailed record
Currently the only links that display from the bib record are in the 856 with a 4 in the first indicator. We'd like the ability to show 956 links, for local information like digital library links.

Direct linking for Digital Objects to have an order in case of several DOs
Currently direct linking for digital objects when there are more than one does not follow any order. Hence, when a record has several D.Os any of them could benefit arbitrarily of the direct linking.
For example, take an English record that is accompanied by several DOs of the document in different languages. The ideal scenario will be to have the English Record and Direct linking to the English D.O. and in the Full Display the options to see other language versions. Currently, the Direct Linking takes any D.O. , which could be confusing to users.

Pin Book resource type to top of resource facet list
In university libraries, a task for many users is to find books. However, because Primo VE with CDI returns so many electronic books, the Book resource type is dropped below the "Show more" fold. It would be helpful if Discovery Admin could pin some resource types to the top of the list to accelerate users in this task.

The ability to customized Worldcat link in Worldcat search API
It would be great if the worldcat link in the Worldcat search scope (enabled via Worldcat search API) could be customized to allow either 1. a proxy prefix or 2. for replacement with a worldcat discovery link.
We're looking into this because when we were on campus, the link was able to - via IP recognition - offer users the option of going to our Worldcat Discovery instance, which brings together worldcat records with our services (i.e. ILL) We would like to somehow replicate that experience now that our services have all gone remote.
Thank you!

Allow direct linking from database records without impacting other records
Database records in the database list behave as other records in Primo.
You click on a post from the database list/brief display, the record opens itself, and from there you can click on the database link. While this makes sense for regular records, this is a bit unnecessary with database records:
- not many more details are displayed on the detailed view.
- when looking up a specific database, the only interesting information is the link itself. Many users reported that this extra click was annoying as what they want is to access the database. Some of them, especially within…

Customize the Discipline Hierarchy for "Personalize Your Results"
We would like to customize the "Personalize Your Results" service in Primo UI in order to change the display and hierarchy of the existing disciplines. Currently, discipline labels can be customized, but not rearranged. However, depending on the country, history and traditions, institutions may have a very different approach towards disciplines and their hierarchy.
We have patrons who do not understand why ‘Physics’ does not belong to ‘Sciences’, why ‘Public Health’ is not under ‘Medicine’, etc. This request aims to give the customers the possibility to create their own hierarchy, not to create or merge disciplines nor to have any…25 votesHello All,

776 first indicator and display
The first indicator for the 776 field specifies whether that field should be displayed or not. I added some 776 fields with a first indicator 1 (do not display note) yet this field is displaying in Primo. I would suggest that when 776 is used with a first indicator 1, this field does not display in Primo as per MARC (see link below)

Display order of portfolio at Catalogue (can we prioritize the links to be displayed?)
For title with multiple portfolios, come from different platforms, I wonder if there is any way to prioritize the links according to our needs, e.g.
Criteria 1: portfolio with access to the current issues will be displayed first, instead of the portfolio with closed holdings.
Criteria 2: purchase portfolio will be displayed before the free access portfolios
Criteria 3: platform with less broken link reports received will be displayed before the one with more broken link reports

Ability to use other fields instead of interface name for View Online fields
We are looking to change the display of the "View Online" space. At the moment, if a resource does not have an Interface name, it displays "view full text". I would like to suggest to have the ability to use the Electronic Portfolio name as an option.
Reasoning behind this: We have hundreds of vendors as well as use Ebsconet as our subscription manager. It is clunky to go in to every single vendor just to add an Interface name.

Include Local collections in Collection Facet
Primo with PCI and CDI do not show Local Collection names in the Collection Facet. This is a disservice to our locally loaded collections. The way this facet is currently configured, it only relates with metadata fields on CDI records and will not show local collections.

PrimoVE - allow search scopes defined by Ex Libris and local search scopes to be combined
It would be great to allow search scopes to be combined in PrimoVE so that predefined search scopes and local search scopes can be configured to search as one scope. Currently, PrimoVE is not able to do this and makes searching more complicated to educate end users on how to search.
For Example, Allow 690 and 6XXs to be able to be search all under Subject. Curently Subject does not include 690.

To have possible filtering FRBR groups to display only records that match with the search definition
it is important to have possible filtering FRBR groups to display only records that match with the search definition. It happens in recommended bibliography. They are reprints of the same book with the same ISBN, but students need only the last reprint. So, it would be useful to filter FRBR groups and display the last reprint not all of them.

Reinstate asterisk wild card search
We used to be able to use an asterisk (*) for searching in advanced search combined with other pre-search filters such as language or material type. This was great for finding all titles in a particular language or all titles in a particular format. This has been removed. Please bring it back!

Adding 'preprint' as a new resource type in CDI
Preprints from preprint archives such as arXiv.org are currently shown as 'article' in Primo. While preprints are a wonderful thing for open science, it’s important to maintain a clear distinction between a journal article, which has undergone peer review, and a preprint, which has not. The article is citable, the preprint is generally not. This is something we teach our students, and also something we try inform the general public about.
Many preprints are also never published in journals in the end. Other preprints end up as e.g. book chapters, not articles.
While arXiv (1991) is the oldest and best-known…

An option for excluding search results from reference lists
Sometimes search results are not quite relevant because the search keywords appear in enriched data - which I don't see on PNX - like bibliography (a reference list). Though it's not perfect Google scholar has a checkbox option 'include citations'. If Primo gives an option like that it would save the time of users searching more appropriate records.
