exclude/include reviews from resultlist
There should be an option "expand my results to include book reviews", similarly to the option "expand my results beyond library collection" in the facets. While having reviews in the list is helpful for some tasks (e.g. acquisitions) they appear misleading to our students and we wish to exclude them by default.
This idea was completed by changing the the ranking to boost down book reviews.

I have posted a new Idea Request as a companion to this one as the solution here has not had a noticeable effect on the problem.

I am requesting that Institutions have the ability to exclude specific resources such as 'Reviews' from the search results. This is very confusing to users and gives them the false impression that there are more resources available than there really are. PLEASE strongly consider this suggestion for the sake of all the stakeholders. Thank you. Mary Braswell

Nope, not true that this is completed and agree with others, this is not a solution! Search for a book and you are more likely to get the review articles, most of them not classed as "review". You need to dust off the way that Summon 360 did it, but corralling book review articles in a separate space. We have seen no improvement for this continuing, confusing problem.

But that is not a solution! You need to have different resource types facets for review articles and reviews for books, films etc. How come so difficult to discuss this problem with ExL? I have tried eagerly in SalesForce and the answer is:"We have discussed this at length, and have been considering the benefits and ramifications of adding such a resource type.
At this point in time, we believe that we can add greater value impact in other areas than here, especially considering the effort involved in re-assessing all existing records.
That said, it is important to mention that updating the list of resource types is on our radar to be included in our future plans. " To me in my profession as a librarian I can't understand how a mix by review articles and book reviews seems not worth prioritizing. -

Sure, correct metadata are required anyways, so I think thats a different issue. The goal here is to exclude reviews by default, rather than force most of the users to filter them afterwards.

The problem is that (book)reviews often are mixed with review articles. If that would be solved then a working resource type facet would be a better solution than "expand my results to include book reviews", in my opinion.
