Improve visibility of sticky facets
The sticky facets are an excellent addition to the functionality of the new UI, but the probability of users discovering them is quite low.
In usability testing students will alter their search terms without ever hovering their mouse over the filters they have applied to their previous search, and then have to reapply the filters.
While the padlock is hidden behind a mouseover interaction this very desirable functionality is undiscoverable.
Also in its current configuration the tooltips for the selected filter and the padlock clash.
The padlock for making your selected filter 'sticky' should be visible by default, and probably…

Adding a "requester note" in Primo for a patron when making a purchase request
There is no possibility in Primo for a patron to add a note to explain why a they would like the library to purchase an item, when making a purchase request.
However, In Alma there is a "requester note" where you can state the reason the patron has requested the item, but this cannot be done in Primo.
So I suggest adding a requesters note in Primo, so the library will have more information as to why they should purchase an item for a patron.
72 votesThank you this suggestion. This is now available in Primo VE November 2019 release.

Supressing inactive portfolios and inactive collections from the discovery layer.
It would less confusing to our patrons if we could suppress the display of inactive portfolios/collections or remove them entirely from our catalog. Patrons see them and wonder why they aren't available, since they still see the record in Primo. Also there are electronic CZ records that creep into our catalog and link, but we are not subscribed so the link is dead. It would greatly help us out if we could remove or suppress them. Thank you.
1 voteThank you for raising this idea. This is now part of Primo VE January 2020 release where we highlighted “Improved Handling of Suppressed Records”

Increase the number of records allowed in the “View Online” tab
Right now, only 25 records can be displayed under the “view online” tab in Primo. If this limit is increased, or removed entirely, libraries will have greater flexibility when creating collections. For example, we have 48 local portfolios that we linked to a single bib record, and we would like all of those portfolios to be displayed under the “view online” tab of that item. So, we propose removing the limit altogether, allowing libraries to decide how many records they want to appear under the “view online” tab. We worked on this project with Ex Libris, and they ultimately advised…

'pin' \ save to eshelf all items of a specific search
Add the ability to 'pin' all results of a specific search, without having to manually select them.
The classic UI has the option to save all items in a specific page to eshelf, this is missing from the NUI and it also doesn't offer a full solution. Users asked for the ability to add all results of a certain search to their eshelf with one click.

Add next and previous arrows to detail display
Instead of forcing the user to close the detail display to then click on the details of another record, the idea would be to add next and previous arrows or buttons to the detail display to allow the user to see the next or previous records details.

My Library Card: Display BLock Expiry Date
It would be very beneficial for library patrons to be able to view their Block Expiry Date in the "Block + Message" section of My Library Card.
Currently, only "Block Description" is displayed. If the Block Expiry Date is displayed, library patrons do not need to ask the library staff. It will be a nice feature for library staff as well since the number of inquiries will decrease.
12 votesDisplay of Block Expiry Date is available in Primo VE from March 2019. For more information see: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Release_Notes/002Primo_VE/0972019/002Primo_VE_2019_Release_Notes
So now, this is supported in Primo and Primo VE.

warning message when unpinning a record from the favorites page
It would be very useful if upon clicking on the unpin icon in the favorites screen, Primo will display a warning message stating that the user is about to delete the marked record/s.
Currently, clicking willingly or inadvertently on the unpin icon will immediately and irreversibly delete the record/s.116 votesThank you for posting this idea. It is now available with Primo & Primo VE February 2021 release with more improvements were made to the My Favorites.

Improve Primo RTA status for items that are in transit, on order, in processing, missing, etc.
Right now if an item is not available, then the item says "Checked out..." even if the item isn't actually checked out. In Alma, the status is under "Process type" and we want this more detailed "Process type" to be displayed to our users instead of just "Checked out.." for everything that isn't available. This is really confusing if the item is missing or being processed by our technical staff. We need to be able to tell users more detail. We have had several users request our library order a book and then when the book is being processed it…
556 votesThank you for this idea. It is now available in Primo VE, Primo VE now allows you to display enhanced availability statuses in the brief display, specifically for records with the availability status Not Available. With this enhancement Primo VE takes advantage of the platform while calculating the real time availability of records, enriching it with more information from the items level.

Improve FRBR item chosen for brief display so that most recent edition displays
When selecting a FRBRed item to display in the Brief Results, a book with multiple editions should always display the most recent edition by default. I have tried all kinds date boosting in the search engine configurations, and I still can't get this to happen. Example: we have many editions of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, up to the 19th ed., and they are listed in the right order when you click "See all versions". However, the edition that displays in the Brief Display is the 12th edition. I've searched this title in other institutions, and they seem to have…
3 votesThis was delivered as part of NERS 6230 – Enable option to favour latest edition of bibliographic work to top the FRBR group.

Display of 541 and 561 fields in holdings records should be determined by value in first indicator of the field
Currently if display of 541 and/or 561 fields in holdings records is enabled in "Holdings Display Customization", 541 and/or 561 fields display in the GetIt section in Primo regardless of the value in the first indicator. If the value in the first indicator is zero then the 541/561 field should not be displayed - this is standard MARC coding (see https://www.loc.gov/marc/holdings/hd541.html and https://www.loc.gov/marc/holdings/hd561.html ).
Ex Libris proposed a solution to us where when the holdings record is saved the a 541 and/or 561 field with first indicator empty or 1 is copied to a 999 field, and in the Holdings…

Offer a select and "renew selected" option in Primo Loans tab
Under the Primo 'Loans' tab, users currently have the ability the ability to renew individual titles, or "renew all". But they cannot select particular titles and renew only those.
We have had several patrons complain about this lack of functionality as they only want to renew books when the original loan period requires them to (i.e. they don't want to renew early) so that they get the maximum loan periods allowed.
A "renew selected" feature on the Primo Loans tab would improve the user experience.

Add a true "exact" search to Advanced search type
The available search types do not include a true "exact" search, where the results inlcude the query term(s) and only the query term(s). This type of search is very useful for one-word queries, especially when it is a common word. Using "begins with" in these situations can still result in dozens of results. We can construct a search, but it's not something the average user would know how to do, e.g.:
Title begins with intervention
NOT
Title begins with intervention? This is a convoluted construction, and we'd prefer a true "is exactly" search type.
580 votesThe option to perform a search with a new "Equals exact phrase" operator will be available in May 2023 release in Primo VE.
Best regards,
Yael.

Primo VE Browse databases by category
We would like to be able to have the option to group the browse into more than 1 list for example a Subjects list and a Resource type list to avoid one huge list for users to scroll through to find the link they are looking for

The "my account" feature in Primo shows other institutions even if no holdings are checked out--these are schools whose holdings have been viewed by the user only. We'd like to ONLY display other schools in this area unless the user has items requested or checked out.

Change the "Guest" button to a "Sign In" button.
The new Primo interface has a "Guest" label/button which you have to click to get to a "Sign In" button. This is ridiculous. This confuses a "who you are" label with a login button. There is nothing intuitive about this. Users have to click twice to login.
90 votesThis was completed by redesigning the user area in Primo new interface.

Make hyphenated compound searchable as closed compound
Hyphenated compounds are indexed for search as open compounds in Primo when "remove hyphens" option is enabled.
In German language it is also very common to concatenate them as closed compounds, thus creating a single word without spaces or hyphens. This variant should be indexed for search as well.
Example:
"Passagen-Werk" (hyphenated compound)
• at the moment also finds "Passagen Werk" (open compound) when "remove hyphens" option is enabled
• at the moment does not find "Passagenwerk" (closed compound) but should be able to find this!!85 votesThank you for this idea. We have improved the search with hyphens for Supported hyphenated terms.. it is released with Primo May 2021 release and Primo VE July release.

direct links to HTML/PDF content in brief display within search results
For any provider that has direct links to HTML or PDF content, I believe that link should be somewhere in the brief display area right over the sendTo actions.
