  1. Separate courtesy notice before max loan period reached

    Users as well as staff find it difficult to keep track of the max loan period, especially with auto-renewals the expectation is that the loan period gets renewed all the time, and it catches people by surprise that the max period has been reached. A separate message warning them of the max loan period approaching, with its own configurable number of days before due date it will be sent, would give users time to arrange for either return of items or bringing them in for renewal.

  2. Normal library card scan through the scanner should register the record into the history list. Plus,History of transactions a separate tab.

    When scanning the patron's library barcode with the scanner into the Manage Patron Records, it does not go in the history list/box. However, if you put the details manually, it does appear to have registered the record in the history list. It will come in handy if the scanned record goes in to the history list.

    Plus, if it is possible to add 'Transaction History' option in Fulfilment, that would allow staff to check if the transactions such as checkouts, checkins, holds, transfers, and etc from the self-checkouts, helpdesks, check in rooms or from personal accounts. That will enable the…

  4. Fulfillment unit rule to have more parameters ie statistical cat

    We have lapsafes in different departments, who would like to restrict loans to just the students from their department. We would like to have Fulfillment unit rule to have the extra parameter of Stats cat 1 etc. In order that we can make a rule to stop or enable specific department students being able to loan specific items etc.

  5. Course Reserves: Reading Lists: Add "Action links" to top AND bottom on the page

    When working on long reading lists [Classic UI] [staff] could click on Add Citation "action links" on the top of the page and at the bottom of the page. This was helpful in that [they] could keep adding items to the list without having to scroll all the way up after adding each item. Currently, this can only do that on the top of the page. See screenshot attached.

    We would like to see this screen be updated such that the action links are available at the bottom of the page as well.

    We would like to have the process fee for lost items to automatically be removed when the item is returned. The replacement cost is automatically removed, but the processing fee remains and must be waived manually.

  7. Increase the 10MB email attachment limit for digitization requests

    Currently the limit for email attachments when filling digitization requests is 10MB. We would like institutions to be able to choose their own limit that suits their own institutional email policies (e.g. Otago's attachment limit on their email server is 30MB). Other institutions may wish to have a lower limit so it should be possible to set a limit that is appropriate up to a maximum value that can be supported by the Alma email infrastructure.     As stated in the comment for this idea, we understand the need to have a file uploaded in various sizes so we will handle this as part of the “ship digitally” option as an alternative to the actual attachment of the file.

  8. Ability to save a note on a patron's record to finish writing later without posting an incomplete note..

    Currently when adding a note to a patron's account, if you are interrupted and need to move to a different screen (eg you need to serve another patron) you either have to post the note as it is or lose it, there is no option to save without posting for you to complete it later.

  9. Being able to turn off hovering over letters bringing up the entire letter

    When you attempt to edit a letter, the mouse hoverover shows the entire letter. This covers where you are attempting to edit. It would be helpful if you could turn this off or change the text to "letter" rather than the full text of the letter. You can click the mouse to get rid of the hover over but as you move the mouse again the hover over comes up. On a long email this is not easy to work with.

  10. Use data in the Physical Condition field to create a conditional message in the On Hold Shelf Letter

    There is currently a notesaffectloan label in Letters that will conditionally create a message if a patron has a block on their account. Another factor that could affect the decision to loan an item is the physical condition of that item. A conditional message in the On Hold Shelf Letter that the item is Brittle or Damaged or Fragile and may not be available for loan would be ideal.

  11. Record Scans in Fulfillment History Even When In-House Use is Not Checked in Scan in Items

    For some workflows it's advantageous to give an item a final scan before it is off to shelving or wherever. However this scan isn't necessarily statistically useful so a lot of items may pass through scan in items without the in house use box being checked and those scans don't show in the fulfillment history.

    For purposes of physically tracking items would it be possible for these scans to register in the fulfillment history of an item as something other than a return, loan, or in house use? Maybe just as "Scanned?"

  12. Resume auto renewals for all copies when request is filled or cancelled

    Currently Alma only resumes auto renewals for the one copy it has recalled, and the other copies of that title have to be manually renewed in order to restart the auto renewals process. It is difficult to explain to users why one copy is auto renewing again and their copy is not, because there doesn't seem to be any logical reason or advantage to this.

  14. Have users actual work address (building and room number) appear on the screen

    We do not use a "hold shelf" in our library. When a user is next in line on a returned item, it would be useful to have their location information (building and room number) appear on the screen when we check the item in. All we see is "Work Address". It would be helpful if their actual work address appeared on the screen. Now we have to navigate to Contact Information for the patron. Thank you.

  15. Add "Call Number" to the item information box when creating Brief records in reading lists.

    When creating Brief records, a box for call number is missing under Item Information. An extra step is necessary to add it by 'changing item information' in the 'scan in items' function. Brief records are also missing "Replacement Cost". When creating records for personal copies I use:
    Title, Author, Call #, Barcode, Material Type, Collection, Item Policy, Replacement Cost

  16. Have the ability to sort by: Storage location ID when scanning a tray of Items.

    When processing books we put new barcodes in an item record in the storage location id input box so we can locate them within our facility and preserve the original barcode. When we are done processing a tray of items we verify all the items are in the tray by placing the tray barcode followed by an asterisk (ex. 00000000*) in the search bar. Alma then pulls all the records that are linked to the tray.
    The problem is that they are ordered by call number instead of the storage location id. This makes it dificult for us to verify…

  17. Communicate patron cost avoidance resulting from library circulation services.

    Add the availability of information in the FulLoanReceiptLetter.xsl Alma letter to include the value of the current loan (i.e. item list price) and also the sum value of the history of loans to date, for the patron. This would allow the letter to be customized to tell the user the amount of cost avoidance achieved by using library services to gain access to circulated items. For example, text might be added like this:
    "You just saved $XXX.XX by using your library. You have saved $X,XXX.XX this past year."

  18. Send Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals - send at different times based on Item Policy

    Currently the Send Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals job has a t value "Days before Due Date" that applies to all loans, irrespective of the Item policy. Therefore if the item is only on a week loan then user is getting the courtesy letter quite soon after the loan was issued.
    We would like an amendment to this job so that it can be configured to allow the courtesy letter sent at different times based on the Item Policy.

  19. Allow Multiple Rollovers for Reserves Courses

    We attempted to implement course rollover at our institution but ran into an issue that means it did not fit how our university operates. We don’t get all courses in our course feed on a single date for a given semester, and we need to start loading the next semester’s courses before all of them appear on in our feed. This creates a problem for rolling over courses because it would require us to rollover the same course more than once.   20. Provide ability to create templates for reserve materials

    1. Our Fulfillment staff are unable to use locally created templates to create records for materials on course reserve. We do not want to give them cataloger roles.
    2. They have the following options-- print book, e-book, print article, e-article. This is limiting and we place other types of resources on reserve, including streaming audio and video.
