Dear Alma Community,
I am writing to inform you of a recent change that affects the status of an enhancement you have created or supported in the Idea Exchange.
As part of our ongoing commitment to align our internal development processes and increase roadmap transparency with our community, some Ideas that were previously marked as “Planned” have been reassigned a status of “Accepted”.
The “Accepted” status signifies that the Alma Product Management team recognizes the value of these Ideas and is committed to their development. However, enhancements are not expected to make it onto The Roadmap in the next year.
We believe that this change will ultimately benefit our user community by providing a more realistic and transparent view of Alma development. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we implement this change.
We understand that this change may lead to disappointment or frustration, and we sincerely apologize for any…

Ex Libris asked us why we didn't use the new features described in the Release notes. It is because we don't need those, we need this. Focus your effort on features that we actually ASK for!

For full transparency, the commitment we made for this idea is to do the analysis for this feature in 2024. Based on that analysis, we will craft a solution that we can deliver in early 2025. We will keep you updated via this idea.

Dear community,
Thank you for the idea. We suggest the following high level solution:
1. In Resources menu > Overlap and Collection Analysis > Compare collection analysis, it will be possible to select multiple match methods, from the existing list of match methods, and the order in which they will be used
2. The match will work as following: Try to match by method #1. If no match was found, try to match by method #2.
3. The report will include information on the matched identifier and its value
4. Similarly, in Resources menu > Overlap and Collection Analysis > Look Up Titles, it will be possible to upload an input file with multiple identifiers columns. The possible identifiers are the existing ones, and columns format will be the same as today. The difference is that it will be possible to place multiple identifier columns, in the order they should be used.
Thaks,
Tamar Fuches

A new task will be added to the tasks widget, alerting catalogers when reminders' date arrives.

It is important to allow us to be able to attach collections to closed/cancelled po lines. Why? Because Ex Libris informed us that we have to switch our titles to another collection because of name change or for other reasons. The titles were already paid for several years ago, and the po lines were closed/cancelled. Changes happen all the time and Alma should be made more flexible to accommodate any changes happening in the real world.
