Automatically Carry Over Queries Between Library Search and Research Assistant
Currently, when a user switches between the Library Search tab and the Research Assistant tab in Summon, the query does not carry over automatically. Users must manually enter the same search in each tab, which can be time-consuming and may disrupt workflow.

Ability to customise the text above search box in the Summon home page.
We would like to have the ability to change the name above the search box in the Summon home page. The text currently reads "Library Search" and, in order to customise it, the only option is adding a JavaScript code. JavaScript isn't user friendly and it relies on customers knowing JavaScript. Despite that, we have tried adding a script but it did not work successfully across all browsers, with some browsers displaying the new text and others not picking up on the change.
Creating an static option, such as adding an option in Translations, would make it easy for customers to customise the text.

Enhance Multilingual Navigation with Custom Links Functionality
We would like to request an enhancement to the “Custom Links” feature.
Currently, it is not possible to set menu names and destination URLs separately for each language version of a page.
We would appreciate it if you could enable the ability to customize menu names and links individually for each language.
We believe this improvement would make multilingual navigation smoother and lead to a better user experience.6 votes -
Add option for Public Notes to display in the Summon brief result
The 'Display eResource Public Notes' and 'Display eResource Public Notes' settings in the Summon Administration Console currently allow public notes from the Client Center to be displayed in the Quick Look, but users may not always click on 'Quick Look' before trying to access the content and would be unaware of the note. If the note could also appear on the brief result (under the journal/bibliographic information, for example) then that would flag any important information to users without them needing to click on 'Quick Look'.

Add a search result facet for Publication Title
Currently there is no option to add a facet on the search results screen to filter by publication (journal) title. Searching a specific journal can be done in the following ways:
- Pre-search, by using Advanced Search/Options to add the journal's title or ISSN as an AND;
- Post-search, by clicking on a hyperlinked journal title within a result, which opens the "search within journal" function in a new window;
- Using the E-Journal Portal to find the journal, then using the search box to search within the journal
None of these options allows for the user to execute a search, then browse a list of the publications associated with the results and select one or more of those publications as a filter. Users either have to know what journal(s) they want to search ahead of time, or happen upon one of the titles in a search result (and then they would have to re-execute that search within the journal). Searching multiple journals (the ones desired for the filter) would require a longer string of ORs than most of our users are prepared to construct.

Bring back the date slider to the Publication Date facet
We'd love the option to use a date slider in addition to manually inputting start and end dates for the Publication Date facet. The slider is so much simpler for users, as having to think up very specific dates can seem arbitrary, and takes more time to execute. You've indicated that the histogram in previous versions of the Summon UI caused performance issues; we don't necessarily need a histogram. Just a slider!

Create collections in Summon
It would be great to be able to create collections by selecting resources directly in Summon, even if we don't have Alma.
Collections could be displayed in the same way as in Primo :

Customise New Search button
We would like to be able to customise the url of the 'New Search' button, so that it links to our own Library Search home page, with embedded Summon search, rather then the default Summon instance.
Currently, we only have the option to use the Home link, via the institutional logo, to link back to our Library Search home page, which is not accepted practice, as this should link to the institution's home page.
We can currenetly use the 'Custom Link' option, but this is not user-friendly, as the link appears in the banner (and hamburger menu), rather than next to the search box.

Add "Cited by" and "Cites" links to the article "Quick Look" and saved folder
Right now the only way to view or use the "Cited by" and "Cites" options is from the search results list. When you look at the "Quick Look" of the article or save it and then look in the saved folder, these options are no longer present. Adding "Cited by" and "Cite" to the "Quick Look" and saved folder views of an article would enhance usability.

Improve the copy function in Research Assistant
The copy function in Research Assistant copies the abstracts of all the 5 articles, some of which can be very long abstracts. Links to the record will be more suitable instead. E.g. Summon permalink to the record.

Add full language and translation functionality for Real Time Availability results
When switching from Italian to English the list of results cannot display translated locations.

Offer automated holdings management for VLeBooks
VLeBooks is likely to be an increasingly popular e-book supplier. Automated holdings management, meaning new titles added to a library's holdings are added to Summon without the library having to take any action, would be very welcome.

More flexibility for the Reserve Button
We would like to suggest an enhancement request to allow more flexibility for the Reserve Button link to allow its link to target a specific holds/reservation functionality for a specific record ID.
In particular, we use the Koha Library Managament System so would greatly welcome an API integration between Summon and Koha, similar to the Sierra via Summon integration, as detailed here:

Add a language toggle to the Summon Research Assistant
We need to provide our users with a language toggle on our web pages to switch between English and French. We've noticed that users can't switch from English to French and vice versa once they're on the Summon Research Assistant page. Users have to switch languages on the Summon page, or click on the Library Search function to return to the Summon search page before they go to the Summon Research Assistant page.
Can you please add a language toggle/switch to the Summon Research Assistant?

Report version of Data Summary Dashboard
We love the Data Summary Dashboard in 360 Services. We use it for IPEDs. The only way to access it is by going into the Client Center manually. So we have to remember to go to this screen precisely on July 1st each year.
It would be great if we could have this summary information automatically reported out monthly to specified email addresses.
(For Data on Demand you can only print out title lists. You have to count them manually.)

We would like to add our IPv6 in the client center
We’d like to request the option to add our IPv6 address in the client center. We’ve been using IPv6 for years, and it would be great if you could support this. It would really help ensure we have the best connectivity possible.
I’ve asked about this before, and I noticed someone else had also suggested it, but the idea was closed. I think revisiting this could be really beneficial for those of us who rely on IPv6 to keep things running smoothly and future-proofed.

Retain special characters in 245 subfields
It would be nice if Summon was able to selectively retain special characters in the title mapping field, for example 245$p. It currently strips special characters such as brackets [] from these fields. We use brackets in our $p field for certain reasons and it would be nice if Summon would leave them in when displaying the Title fields.

Provide ability to make a link to Advanced Search with pre-selected facets
I would like to be able to provide a URL to the advanced search page and have the English language facet preselected.

Make Request button display behavior more configurable
Give libraries a configurable option to suppress the Request Button under certain conditions. For example, the library may not want to present the Request Button to patrons when there are multiple copies (items) attached to a bib record and at least one of the items is Available (on the shelf).
Academic libraries in particular may have a policy of not paging on-shelf materials for patrons.
Allowing libraries to set this kind of display option would improve the user experience as it would be clear to the end user from the outset that the item is not requestable, rather than presenting a button that makes it look as though it is.
