  1. Journal information appearing condensed in Summon (spacing is needed)

The journal information that shows on our Bib records appears condensed in Summon. It would be helpful to have the information separated with a blank line and the word "location" in bold. If bolding can not be done, a new line between the locations would be very helpful.

  2. Make the 50-item limit on Saved Items in Summon configurable.

You can only save 50 items in the saved folder in Summon. It is not configurable.

  3. Make View Changes in Client Center Exportable

We'd really appreciate if the View Changes in Client Center had an exportable format, such as Excel.

  4. I wanted to ask whether the possibility of being able to modify proximity search searching has been considered?

We had proximity search settings set in EDS so that words entered in the keyword box had to be within 3 or 4 words of each other, (if I'm remembering correctly). That seemed to be a good happy medium for our users so that phrase searching wasn't needed. It's an adjustment for those used to EDS of now needing to put phrases in quotes, capitalize boolean operators, and this really broad threshold for proximity searching when using Summon.

  7. Allow full replacement marc uploads without having to approve the load in the content ingestion interface.

Allowing for full marc record loads without additional approval in the admin interface would decrease the number of steps needed for libraries who wish to always do full marc record replacements. It would also make record upload automation possible through custom scripting or services such as Innovative Interface's Scheduler.

  9. Make searches with ‘query expansion’ customisable

We would like to be able to add, remove or edit query expansion topic matches to improve the topic and subject matches and prevent incorrect query expansion.

Query expansion is supposed to link synonymous subjects and topics, so the user doesn’t have to enter all terms in their search (e.g. ‘heart attack’ and ‘myocardial infarction’). Sometimes the query expansion function gives incorrect or unhelpful topic matches. For example a search for ‘civil litigation’ automatically expands to include ‘jurisprudence’. These are not synonymous terms.

ExLibris tell us that currently it isn’t possible to change or remove specific instances of query expansion,…

  10. Match & Merge Duplicates in Video Type

Match & Merge duplicates in the video Type. They don't do it because "there hasn't been much duplication in video." Well, we have some and they won't merge them. Ideally we should have no duplicates in any type.

  12. Make OA Content excludable

Right now you can include OA content, which we like. But can we make a way to exclude it for the users who get confused when they expect to see an article and (for most OA articles) are dropped at the home page of the website?

  13. Expanding the Credo content connected to records used by Summon Topic Explorer.

Credo has content that should be showing up in the Topic Explorer box, but it's not because that content isn't connected to the records Summon searches for Topic Explorer content.

  15. Fix EZproxy rewriting on altmetric links

Citation count links to Web of Science and Scopus are rewritten under an EZproxy session but links to altmetric are not. The stanza needs updating: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Summon/ProductDocumentation/OverviewofTheSummonService/TheSummonAdministrationConsole/Summon%3AWeb-BasedProxy_Support

  16. Database recommendations based on content type facet

Currently the database recommender is powered by tags (and an algorithm based on the result set?). We would like for the content type facet to also power database recommendations. For example, if the music facet is selected, Naxos is recommended. If the standards facet is selected, Standards Australia is recommended. The new database facet assists with this to a degree, but it is not foolproof.

  17. Usability of Advanced Search

Certain elements of the advanced search screen are very difficult to use on mobile devices, particularly the 'Content type' and 'Discipline' multiple check-box options, where scrolling through a long list is problematic.
Is there a way to improve this, perhaps by using a larger pop-out box that can be scanned at a glance?
