Linking correct URL: Ebook Central Perpetual and DDA (AABBV)
For some titles in this database not only one but several URLs are stored in the Client Center. Then the correct URL is not always selected and the link to the full text does not work correctly. Although the link leads to the Ebook Central platform and the correct title is opened, but access does not work. A message appears that this title is not available. Then the correct URL must be added manually in the Client Center as "User-specific URL". Work can be saved and processes simplified if the workflow is set to automatically use the correct URL of…

Fix book review linking
There's no consistent format for book review titles appearing in various periodicals. Across the Summon index, one sees entries like:
- {author name} {book title}
- {book title}
- Review: {book title}
and all manner of different combinations of these elements. Unfortunately, OpenURL linking to destination databases fails unless both sources agree upon the format of the title. Summon describes book review titles one way and it might match some databases, many it will not. Links from Summon to ProQuest databases don't even work consistently (see attachment).
Summon needs an approach superior to naive OpenURL linking or poorly formed searches using title metadata.…

Licence terms displayed in Summon search results
We would like to see the same functionality in Summon as is currently available in Primo - licence terms being visible in search results within the Summon interface.
As we are on Intota for our ERM, we would want to see Intota licence content linked to Summon search results and displaying there.

Add Cite Them Right as option for exporting citations
Cite Them Right is a citation service similar to Citace.com and EasyBib that is gaining popularity. To support individuals and institutions who want this option, we would add this option where other citation services are currently offered in Summon. Institions should be able to choose to turn this on or off as an option. It should be included as an option under the Export To lists found in the menu behind the elipses (...) menu for each search result. It should also be available as an option for Export To in the Saved Items folder.

Improve holdings display for journals in Summon or turn off catalog details page based on material types
We're looking for ways to improve the way holdings display for journals in Summon.
We're screen scraping Real Time Availability for our books, but our journals just display "Check availability" and link through to the OPAC (because the records have a different structure).
We would like to turn on the catalog details page, but this adds an additional click for users before they can actually see our journal holdings.
For example, here is a journal record in our OPAC (we have print and electronic on the same record):
http://librarycatalogue.griffith.edu.au/record=b1551062~S1and in Summon preview
Whereas the ebook displays a bit…

Make Institutional Google Scholar content searchable within Summon
It would be great to see Summon integrated with Google Scholar, allowing for our institution's Google Scholar content to be searchable within Summon.
This would eliminate many access issues that stem from users searching for open-access content that we either don't get from our providers, or that hasn't been indexed yet.

Use Seamless Access for authentication
Seamless Access is a new tool for Single sign-on authentication, this is how they describe it:
SeamlessAccess enables true Single Sign-On. Your users will be able to sign in using their preferred sign in credentials, and will not be bothered for them again for all SeamlessAccess-enabled sites.

"Littel Navigator" for Topic Explorer
"Littel Navigator" is a discovery support tool which is used in libraries in Japan. With it, user can check the conceptual relations between search words and other related words. The ralations are presented like network diagram.
It would be helpful for users to expand their knowledge, if it can be integrated into Topic Explorer in Summon result page.

Utilizing Talis Aspire Item linking API
Talis Aspire Reading lists have an 'item linking API' which can be used to improve Summon search features. This linking API can provide information whether search results items are part of the Reading lists. It will hugely benefit Talis Aspire customers if this integration can be achieved. Thank you.

Allow URLs for OPAC and ILL tools to change based on Summon UI language
Put the base URLs for OPAC and ILL tools into the language translation tool, so a different URL may be used based on the language chosen by Summon user. Currently we are forced to use custom JS to make this happen.

Match & Merge catalog with IR
I would like if possible to match & merge records from different sources: Library Catalog and Institution Repository (Dspace) to have only 1 record in Summon with 2 availability options.

I would like Summon to have the functionality to connect to Endnote via Z39.50 allowing users to search all our resources.
I would like Summon to have the functionality to connect to Endnote via Z39.50 allowing users to search all our resources. Currently, we can only set up a connection to our Voyager catalog in EndNote, and our Voyager catalog does not have records for all the journals and databases we subscribe to.

Import LibAnswers by college in shared group systems
Springshare's LibAnswers FAQs can be imported into Summon, but not for individual libraries in Springshare "shared group systems." In our case, the API url provided for the entire system is https://maricopa.libanswers.com/api/1.1 while the url for my college is https://maricopa.libanswers.com/api/1.1/faqs?iid=2299. The only API url recognized in Summon is the one that ends in 1.1 - for the entire system. This enhancement request is for Summon to allow existing API parameters to pull in LibAnswers FAQs by group. This will allow each group member to have their own FAQS (and not those of the entire group) imported into Summon. This functionality…

Summon integration with SirsiDynix Enterprise
EBSCO EDS integrates with SIrsiDynix's Enterprise catalog tool, allowing discovery content to be surfaced and accessible via the catalog, alongside a user's account info, physical items on loan etc - all in one place. I'd like to see Summon similarly integrate with SD Enterprise.

Minimise requests by patrons for locally subscribed content by filtering via Summon Citation Linker
As a small team processing many document delivery requests, it would be good to minimize the number of requests for items already held in locally subscribed e-journals. Proposing that citation details entered via a local online form could be submitted to the Summon Citation Linker for checking and identification of subscribed content. If held, a return to the patron of a link to the full-text content would be provided. If item is not subscribed, form information is forwarded to library staff as usual. Would greatly benefit both the requester who can receive access to required content instantly and also library…

Add union catalog as limiter/filter
Summon does a great job searching our local catalog. I'd like to be able to add our statewide union catalog (OhioLINK) as a second, separate catalog and allow users to click a filter to "add in" results from that catalog if they don't find the book they're looking for in their initial search. Right now we have to have users link out to OhioLINK and do a separate search - I'd like to keep them in Summon for union catalog searching.

Add link to local e-content that is owned by the library and may not be part of a subscription or database.
Local e-content (pdf of purchased document; link to digitized image collections; link to proprietary capstone papers; etc.) should be easily located with a SUMMON search.

Change Availability Statement of DDA titles to something other than Full Text Online
We currently have Automatic Holdings set up for E Book Central Perpetual and DDA database.
The original set up was done quite quickly and therefore only our owned titles appeared in Summon, but students could search for DDA titles in the EBC platform.
However EBC have sorted out the set up so now over 500,000 DDA titles are discoverable in Summon.
This might not be a bad thing except that the availability statement tells the user we have Full Text Online.
My proposal is that there is a way of distinguishing DDA titles from Owned titles for Automatic Holdings, and…6 votes -
