How can we improve Summon?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  3. Add a new report for all search terms

    Add a report similar to popular search terms that lists all search terms no matter how many times it has been searched as the popular search terms report has a default of a minimum of 16 hits.

  4. Statistics for Best Bets

    I would love to get data on how effective our Best Bets are in Summon -- to get a sense of how often users are engaging with a Best Bet to find information or a resource, based on certain anticipated searching behavior. Such data would help me to decide how much time to invest in crafting future Best Bets -- particularly the tags. But I could also include the data in annual reporting.

  5. Allow 'article name' field to be applied to Oracle Analysis System reports

    Allow the 'article name' field to be used in conjunction with 'title clicks' to produce a report that shows the frequency in which particular articles are clicked on in Summon.

  7. Include Selected Facets in Zero Results Analytics

    In the Summon OBI analytics, you can create a Zero Title Searches report, which includes how many times the search was conducted as well as the "Search Origin." The search origin provides the information on the cause of the search coming up with zero results that can either be due to a "search" or "facet."

    Currently, we can't see precisely what facets the user had selected while searching that provided zero results. We believe that including details on which facets were present during the failed search would be extremely beneficial.

    AdminBrent D. Cook (Director, Product Management, Summon, Ex Libris) responded

    Moving this back to no status and adding a note to clarify. For Summon over Alma customers, we can schedule delivery of reports via email. But currently OBI statistics from the Summon UI are not covered under these reports.

    This idea covers reports and usage outside of Alma.

  10. bX Recommender statistics

    We would like to be able to see analytics for the bX recommender tool to evaluate usage and return on investment (given that the is an additional fee on top the the Summon subscription).

    At minimum, we would want to know how many times the "Related articles" link was clicked on, but ideally also, how many times an article in the right-hand panel was subsequently clicked on.

  11. Expand the 500 row limit on usage reports in Summon OBI

    Hello all,

    I have recently had to extract some statistics from the OBI interface and found out that there is a limit of 500 rows at a time. This seems like a tiny amount of rows, given that I used to extract 50,000 - 100,000 at a time from the old stats platform. For libraries that have to extract statistics in order to do analysis, etc, it seems like a good idea to expand this limit from 500 to a much higher number.
