Preferred language set for both Alma and Leganto
Leganto is a patron-facing system and is translated to several different languages. Alma is a back-office system for librarians and are not translated as such.
In Leganto you can select the interface language. This changes the preferred language setting on the user-profile in Alma as well. We can see the change in the history-tab on the user-profile.
The issue is that if the language is set to a language other than english, parts of Alma displays translated values (I assume values that are used in patron facing elements) while other parts are not translated. E.g. a mix of Norwegian and…

Analytics improvement regarding Leganto and Esploro
Set up an Esploro-Leganto integration in Analytics, that makes it possible to get statistics on how many assets from Esploro are cited in reading list (like you can create an list with Leganto citations there also are represented in Alma). E.g. how many citations in a specific reading list are from Esploro?

Allow students to access 'Course students' restricted lists via 'My Lists'
If you use the "Course Students" publication status for a reading list, students must always use an LTI link from a VLE to view the list. This means students can't access all their lists from one place ("My Lists") which isn't good for the student experience.
We would like there to be a way for students to only have to access the list via LTI once (if at all), after which they can access it from "My Lists".

Ability to email instructor(s) directly from Reading List
In a patron’s account, you can email the patron directly from the General Information tab. We would like to see similar functionality in the ability to generate an email to an instructor directly from their Reading List.
When working on a Reading List in Alma, the option to generate an email could be a live link in the Reading List Owner’s name in the Reading List Information box, or in the course information box above the Reading List, or in the Owners tab, or all of the above.

Improve searching for citations in Leganto list view
Searching for citations in Leganto can sometimes show inaccurate and unexpected results.
For example, if someone tries to use "" to search for an exact phrase, it won't bring up results because "" isn't supported as a search operator. Or, if a book title has a )/?/-/./( in it, including that character in your search won't bring up the book. There is also no support for partial matching on words, e.g. "manage" won't bring up "management".
This causes confusion for users if they don't understand why results are being affected and can't find resources. We would like searching to be…

Add ability to sort/filter citations by date created/modified in Leganto
In Alma we can sort and filter citations on a reading list by date but it isn't currently possible to do this in Leganto.
We only check new citations on reading lists when reviewing, and use the Leganto interface to do our checks. This means staff have to sort and filter the list in Alma and then click "View in Leganto" one at a time, which isn’t an efficient use of staff time and can be frustrating on long lists with many new citations.
We would like the option to view the citations on a list by date last modified…

Allow multiple tags to be added to a Leganto Questions response
Currently you can only add one tag per response to a Leganto Question. We would like to be able to add multiple tags per response to improve messaging for our users.
As an example, we use Leganto Questions to ask if a print book is key/essential reading, and add a "Key reading" tag if it is. If a print book is key reading on a list we will also start a process to buy an ebook, and we'd like to add a second tag to reflect this.
This change would help academic staff to see which items on a list…

Improving the in-list searching in Leganto
When searching for a specific citation in Leganto, there are instances where no results are returned. We recently noticed this happening if the search is mis-spelled, shortened or if a special character is used. This happens even if the special character is in the title of the item.
It appears to be a very specific search, almost working like a Ctrl+F function rather than being flexible. We use the in-list search function a lot, so it would be great if this could be more flexible to allow for these types of instances.6 votes -
Enable configuration of more term code options
It would be useful for us to be able to configure more than the current maximum of 99 different term codes. We have nearly 200 different term configurations.

Make Primo's related records indicator available for Leganto
When setting the "primo availability for citations added from primo" parameter to false, related records are displayed for citations in Leganto.
In theory this is great - for books and their ebook version as those are more or less the same thing.
Where it gets problematic are cases where a textbook and its corresponding exercise book are related. Leganto just mixes the inventory without giving any indication that not all holdings are for the actual title (screenshot).
Primo has a good solution for this - they added a header after the 'real' inventory and listed the related inventory below that.…

Enable the system to give you an alert if you suppress an item on a reading list
It would be good to know when you are suppressing an item that is on a reading list so you know either not to suppress it or replace it with another copy if one is lost or missing. Similar to when you withdraw or delete an item

Add ability to filter citations with files attached in reading list view
When searching citations in Alma, one of the facets available is "File", with the options "File attached" / "File not attached". However, when viewing a reading list, this option doesn't seem to be available.
This would be useful to us to quickly identify citations on a reading list which have an attached file, for example when checking copyright for digitisations.

Quick Notifications to All Faculty
During the pandemic, we've undergone numerous changes to reserve and library policies and it is cumbersome right now to quickly reach out to all list owners. We want to be able to use Leganto to push notifications quickly and easily to all users to alert them to policy changes.

Get Course Enrolments by User API Rest Call
It would be really useful to have a REST API GET call that returns course enrolments for an individual student by providing the student ID in the request. This response should return a list of courses that the individual student is enrolled on which would then allow to drill into reading lists etc.

Reading list ‘bulk export’ in Leganto
Currently the only way to export reading lists in Leganto is exporting them one at a time. I would like to suggest an option for a bulk export of reading lists, where one can export more than one list in a single operation.
A possible workflow could be adding an ‘Export’-option in the “Find lists”-menu, and using a prompt for selecting lists to export. It could additionally be available in the “My lists”-menu.
Ideally the export options should be the same as when exporting a single list or section, with choices like File Type, Bibliographic Styles and Sorting. There are…

Better interoperability – add a new symbol in Alma as an indication when an attachment is hidden in Leganto
We use the Leganto citation ‘Hide link’ feature to hide attachments from the Student view.
As UNSW process reading lists in Alma, it will be helpful if there is a symbol to indicate the attachment is hidden so we don’t have to select the "View in Leganto" for each citation to check whether the attachment is hidden or not.
We manually add a tag to show if an attachment is hidden, but it is not practical.
It will be even better if the ‘Hide link’ option is available in Alma, in addition to Leganto.
Thank you.

Option to use multiple multilingual logos
In Configuration > Leganto > UI > Branding > Logo Upoad > 'Load Leganto header logo' you can upload the logo that's gonna be displayed in the Leganto header.
But only 1 logo can be uploaded. For institutions with different logos for different languages this is rather unfortunate
Our guess is that having more than 1 logo is not an envisaged use-case (and probably a rare one, too).
Still we would really like the ability to upload multiple logos to fit all UI languages in use.

Make the workflow-note deletable
At the moment there is no way to get rid of the workflow-note created by Leganto Questions. Neither by hand nor via job.
Ex Libris told us that this is by design, but to us this creates issues as we can't create "to do" reports in Analytics based on a note we can't delete after the job was done.
It also does not improve the already cluttered 'Edit Citations' screen.
Additionally it is possible to delete the corresponding tag (Citation > Edit > Tags > Tag type: Workflow) which contradicts the "by design" statement.
We are therefore asking Ex Libris…

Can course codes information be sorted from newest to oldest when using Manage Course Association/Rollover a list
In Leganto, an instructor needs to look up a course when trying to ‘Manage course association’ or ‘Rollover’ a list to a course; however, the course codes information is listed in order from oldest to newest.
The sorting is inconvenient for them as, in most cases, instructors tend to locate the latest course. We think it will help the instructors if the course information should be default in the order from the most recent course.
