Set default citation statuses in RIS import
When we add an item manually, a resource locate is run and a default citation status is added based on our configuration. But when we import items in a batch (eg via RIS import), these actions don't take place.
This means that items all import as "Being Prepared" instead of being automatically marked as "Complete" (if we have full-text online available) or being flagged for our attention (in other cases). We don't have a workflow to deal with this - due to low staffing we have to rely on automation - so we can't promote this batch import functionality to…

Publish_default_mode needs to developed to allow different processes dependent on set criteria
Situation - Currently we are trying to make the majority of our reading lists open access. However, due to departmental and copyright issues. We cant make all lists open access. Therefore, we currently have Publishdefaultmode set to All Students Full. Which means staff manually run sets on a daily basis to find readings lists that have been published and are not from two specific academic departments and run a bulk reading list job to change them to All Students Full, Anyone Restricted.
Solution. We would prefer that the Publishdefaultmode is enhanced to publish lists with different…5 votes -
Search/filtering of list selection dialog in Primo "Send to Leganto" action
When adding a citation from Primo using the Leganto action object, users are presented with a drop down list of all reading lists they are an owner or collaborator on. This list is sorted from oldest to newest and it's difficult to find the proper list if many are displayed.
Our faculty liaisons and course reserves staff frequently use this tool and may be collaborators on scores or even hundreds of lists that may have similar names. Faculty too, may have multiple lists of the same name if they teach the same course from term to term.
Being able to…

Add MARC field 240 as a new field in Leganto
We have several records representing e-books, which are published as e-books (much) later than when the same content was published as a printed book. The printed book may be published in 2007, the same e-book in 2019, and even if both dates are recorded in the 008-field of the record, this information is not displayed in Leganto. Only the actual publishing year (in our example 2019) is visible to the user. It makes it look like a newer edition, which it is not.
Ex: https://bibsys-k.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/leganto/readinglist/citation/14473946130002204?institute=47BIBSYS_UBO&auth=SAMLOur case was closed last time (#05336252) but we are now moving to RDA standards,…

Add "Uploaded file" as availability option in questions
Currently we can have a question appear based on whether a citation is held in print, electronically, or in the digital collection. It would be useful to also have the option of having the question appear based on whether the user has uploaded a file to the item.
Example use case: we configure a question "EU" and it appears when the item has Electronic holdings and the user has also Uploaded the file. This lets us confirm whether they really need both methods, and make sure that copyright clearance is dealt with, which we haven't been able to make work…

Sort citations by section in Alma
Most of our institutions use a two-section structure in Leganto, where one section is recommended literature. Citations in this section are not treated the same way by the library as "mandatory citations". Hence the need to sort citations in reading lists by section in Alma.
The feedback we got from an institution is that they would like "Section" to be a filter/dropdown menu where they can choose a specific section, the same way the tag menu works.

Restrict Tags to specific Material Types
It would be really great if tags could be restricted to specific material types.
We are using tags that are e.g. only applicable for books and e-books but not websites etc. but still show up for those types, too.6 votes -
Enable tags generated by questions to set item status
Currently the "revert_citation_status_by_adding_tags" options have no effect on citations that are tagged as a result of a question. This is because when the instructor answers the question and clicks "Confirm", first the tags are added, and then the citation is actually created.
Our use case is that if the instructor selects a certain answer, we want to apply a tag and based on that tag apply an automatic citation status ReadyForProcessing to ensure it appears in the tasklist for library staff.
A possible solution is to reverse the order of operations when the instructor clicks confirm: first create the citation…

Display more course details when pushing to Leganto from Primo
Instructors often teach the same subjects which are rolled over each new semester. This results in a long list of indistinguishable lists in the Push to Leganto feature since it only displays the list name.
Please provide configuration options for displaying course details alongside the list name, including course code, term and year. Institutions should be able to decide which of these course details to display in the Push to Leganto feature.
See attached for an example of how it might look.

Automatic status depending on file upload and copyright clearance
We've configured Leganto so when a file is uploaded the copyright status goes to Waiting for Approval, and the citation status shows as In Process. On the other hand when an instructor creates a citation which has a full text link available, the citation will automatically be Complete. This covers the simple cases: a citation with only a link is ready for students to use immediately, and a citation without a link needs the instructor to upload a file which they then need to request copyright clearance for.
But it doesn't support our copyright requirements for more complex cases. Eg…

Reading list comments - alerts removed if comments are deleted
We receive notification when a comment has been made to a reading list, in both Alma in the Recent Changes tab and in the Reading List Notification (bell).
However, if the comment is subsequently deleted by the student or instructor no notification is given. We have wasted time searching for comments that do not exist. It would be great to know a comment has been deleted.1 vote -
Complete change log for reading lists
Our Instructors are in need of a feature that allow them to retrieve/view a complete change log for reading lists.
The feature ‘View recent changes’ is somewhat similar, but the feed currently only display changes made by others - not your own. It would be great if this feature were expanded to include all changes made on a list.
Being able to review all changes made to a reading list is not only useful for monitoring a list, it is also an important collaboration tool – primarily with fellow Instructors, but also e.g. when reviewing course material changes with faculty…

Automatic purchase request needs to be triggered automatic with a scheduled job
Currently the Automatic Purchase request process in Alma. Is not Automatic. Staff have to go into a citation and re-save it for the automatic process to be triggered. Or we have to run the Process and Enrich Citations job to trigger the automatic purchase request.
It would be better if this process was ran as a scheduled job like the active courses process. Rather than staff accidently triggering a purchase request by just re-saving a citation that they are working on.
It would be also good that automatic purchase requests do not have to be assigned a staff member to…9 votes -
The ability to ask multiple questions and answers on one citation
We currently have a question setup in Leganto. To ask whether a piece of reading is mandatory or supplementary. We were testing asking a question about Print only items needing to be digitized. However, we found out that you can only ask one question for one citation. It would be good to have the ability to have more than one question for one citation being created.

Ability to email instructor(s) directly from Reading List
In a patron’s account, you can email the patron directly from the General Information tab. We would like to see similar functionality in the ability to generate an email to an instructor directly from their Reading List.
When working on a Reading List in Alma, the option to generate an email could be a live link in the Reading List Owner’s name in the Reading List Information box, or in the course information box above the Reading List, or in the Owners tab, or all of the above.

Improve searching for citations in Leganto list view
Searching for citations in Leganto can sometimes show inaccurate and unexpected results.
For example, if someone tries to use "" to search for an exact phrase, it won't bring up results because "" isn't supported as a search operator. Or, if a book title has a )/?/-/./( in it, including that character in your search won't bring up the book. There is also no support for partial matching on words, e.g. "manage" won't bring up "management".
This causes confusion for users if they don't understand why results are being affected and can't find resources. We would like searching to be…

Add ability to sort/filter citations by date created/modified in Leganto
In Alma we can sort and filter citations on a reading list by date but it isn't currently possible to do this in Leganto.
We only check new citations on reading lists when reviewing, and use the Leganto interface to do our checks. This means staff have to sort and filter the list in Alma and then click "View in Leganto" one at a time, which isn’t an efficient use of staff time and can be frustrating on long lists with many new citations.
We would like the option to view the citations on a list by date last modified…

Allow multiple tags to be added to a Leganto Questions response
Currently you can only add one tag per response to a Leganto Question. We would like to be able to add multiple tags per response to improve messaging for our users.
As an example, we use Leganto Questions to ask if a print book is key/essential reading, and add a "Key reading" tag if it is. If a print book is key reading on a list we will also start a process to buy an ebook, and we'd like to add a second tag to reflect this.
This change would help academic staff to see which items on a list…

Improving the in-list searching in Leganto
When searching for a specific citation in Leganto, there are instances where no results are returned. We recently noticed this happening if the search is mis-spelled, shortened or if a special character is used. This happens even if the special character is in the title of the item.
It appears to be a very specific search, almost working like a Ctrl+F function rather than being flexible. We use the in-list search function a lot, so it would be great if this could be more flexible to allow for these types of instances.6 votes -
Make Primo's related records indicator available for Leganto
When setting the "primo availability for citations added from primo" parameter to false, related records are displayed for citations in Leganto.
In theory this is great - for books and their ebook version as those are more or less the same thing.
Where it gets problematic are cases where a textbook and its corresponding exercise book are related. Leganto just mixes the inventory without giving any indication that not all holdings are for the actual title (screenshot).
Primo has a good solution for this - they added a header after the 'real' inventory and listed the related inventory below that.…
