How can we improve Leganto?

  1. Display Instructor's name along with list title and code in search.

    This is a very simply display improvement. Students looking for lists from searchlists often want to find their list by instructor name. Sometimes they will browse by department, or try to find their course amongst other sections and there is no indication of who the list instructor is from the brief list record. Even if they search by that name, they may misspell it and still have to and have to click through to open the course to be assured they have the right list. Adding it with the code at the bottom of the display would be a useful…

  2. Option to receive email notifications for new or changed citations submitted by instructors

    We'd like the option to receive emailed notifications for new or changed citations submitted by instructors. This option should be configurable to allow Library staff to select either immediate notifications for each change or daily digests. Each reading list should have the option for staff to indicate whether if they'd like notifications for that list.

  3. Customer setting to disable automatic assignment of reading lists

    We would like the option to globally disable the automatic assignment of reading lists to staff who work on a list. Automatic assignment adds an extra step when staff are searching for lists.

  4. Ability to search for and delete Courses that do not have a Reading List attached

    To ensure that the LTI link works between our LMS and Alma we have to create a Course Record for all units that utilise the LMS. This results in thousands of Course Records being created in Alma each semester. However since not all units in the LMS use a Reading List only a fraction of these Course Records eventually have a Reading List attached. Therefore we have a lot of empty Course Records in Alma cluttering up the Course area in Alma and resulting in some confusion for Library staff in identifying active, current courses.

  5. Manage Digital Representations

    When looking at a citation, we would like to be able to see if "Manage Digital Representations" has been ticked by looking at the citation information without having to click through to "Manage Digital Representations" to check. Could a filter be added to filter what hasn't been checked on a reading list or some indication on the citation information section?

  6. Default item type for e journal articles

    When adding a Primo Central electronic journal article title to a readings list, the type defaults to article rather than electronic article.
    This would then be more obvious to instructors and students that they are looking at an electronic article instead of a physical article.

  7. Leganto Instructor Rollover - Relocate "Roll Over List" to appear next to "SEND LIST" button

    As Library staff, I would like the Roll Over List button to be placed at a more obvious spot in Leganto, so instructors can easily find the button and Rollover their Lists with fewer clicks.

    UNSW Library will enable the Leganto Course Instructor Rollover in November 2018. We want instructors to use this feature, and not be confused with the Duplicate List option.

    Current Behavior:
    1. Instructor opens a Reading List in Leganto
    2. clicks on Reading list options menu option
    3. selects "Roll Over List", which is beneath "Duplicate List"
    Concerns:
    a. They need to know where the button…

  8. Move Material type field to the top of the Editing form

    We think the field for material type should be moved to the top of the Editing form.
    This makes sense for several reasons.
    - It makes sense to define a document before registering it, and that’s where cataloguers start.
    - Different document types have different sets of fields, and choosing the material type first would ensure that the instructor starts registering in the correct form.
    - When changing the material type during the process, some fields may move or disappear, including fields the instructor had just been working on, leading to a poor user experience.

  9. Allow users (especially students) to add a note when link is marked as broken

    When checking the broken link alerts each morning we often have to email the users to diagnose their access issues. It would save time if the user could add a short note at the point when they click 'Mark as broken'.

  10. Index Start Page and End Page for Book Chapter and Document type citations in Analytics

    Start and end pages for article type citations are currently indexed in Analytics, and Article Number of Pages is present/calculated in Analytics. Start Page and End Page for Book Chapter and Document type citations, as well as Total Pages for Document citations are not.

    We'd like to share this data with our Copyright Clearance department without using a workaround.

  11. Suppress tags from specified citation material types

    We would like to be able to hide certain tags from specific material types, for example hide our 'Digitisation request' tag from citations which are already available electronically.

  12. Move citations in bulk from a list to My Collection rather than only one by one

    Moving citations one by one through the options menu is painful. Users should be able to move all citations in a list, or selected subsets of citations in a list to My Collection. The ability to select and copy all or select some and copy is a very common usability feature for list management.

    This would really make My collection the easiest way to search and find previously used materials across course lists.

  13. publish needs to be become more visible and a dual process of 'send to library' and 'publish'

    Not only does the publishing button need to be made more visible. But needs to act as a dual process of 'send to library' so librarians get contacted when changes are made but also publishes the reading list. Or 'send to library' needs to be made mandatory again when tags are changed (i.e. from core to supplementary) as this will change how many copies the library may need to purchase.

  14. Option to change the default tab on the Reading Lists Tasks List page in Alma

    We'd like either a global option to set the default tab to All or an option for each user to select their own preference. This would improve the workflow for staff because they often collaborate on Reading Lists and searching from the All tab is preferable to searching from the other tabs.

  15. Leganto +ReadingList widget

    In adding the +ReadingList widget to the bookmark manager of a browser, you need a two-step process. First click the widget from one's Leganto settings menu and click again on the widget button from the pop-up window. This is more of a user experience issue, many if unfamiliar will choose to drag the widget after clicking on the menu settings and will drag the URL instead of clicking another time to wait for the pop-out window to drag the right widget with the javascript (see below).

  16. Leganto Instructor Rollover - Allow Library Internal Notes to be copied to the rolled over list

    As library staff, I would like the Library Internal Notes to be copied to the rolled over list, so that I can keep the information I recorded in original list.

    Internal Notes for a Citation or a Reading List may include:
    - special copyright/license information,
    - special considerations/actions
    - historical decisions or agreements

  17. Set order and default option in File Upload Copyright Options

    We would like to control the order of display of the File Upload Copyright Options and to be able to set which one is the default option.

    There is no configuration to do this currently in the File Upload Copyright Options table

  18. Remove an individual user from all courses/lists where they are an instructor/owner

    This is only currently possible as a bulk process using the reading list 'Remove all owners' job, or by using the course uploader. This is inefficient in cases where an individual member of staff leaves or is no longer teaching on a specified module and therefore needs to be manually removed as a list owner / course instructor.

  20. Improve the visibility of "Publish" list option

    We have noticed quite a number of Instructor created lists remain in Draft in error, as Instructors are not always aware when a list is 'draft' or 'published'. The option to 'publish' is hidden within the Resource List options menu. Instead, it would be useful if the 'publish' option appeared as a visible button and hence be easier to find and also possibly serve as a reminder to publish a list.
