Option to rename/customise the Rialto 'Add Items' search scope
We have recently turned on the option for instructors to 'add items' using Rialto but this terminology is confusing for them.
We would like the option to customise this heading e.g. 'Search our book supplier' or 'Rialto (Library book supplier)'
This should encourage use and facilitate training. We would much prefer instructors use Rialto rather than Cite It to harvest from publisher websites. Cite It often misses key bib information and/or brings in erroneous e-links.

Add information about who published the list to Course Reserves SA in Analytics
Information about the person who published the list should be added to Course Reserves Subject Area in Analytics. We need this solution for better reporting and list management.
Right now, information about the person who published the reading list is poorly accessible. It can be found under Recent Changes in the Reading List in Alma, but it can disappear if the log is too long. We would like it to be clearly visible on the Reading List level (registered as a separate idea https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/395697-leganto/suggestions/43545540-who-published-the-list-should-be-displayed-in-read) and available in Analytics.

Who published the list should be displayed in Reading List Information in Alma
Information about the person who published the reading list is poorly accessible. It can be found under Recent Changes in the Reading List in Alma, but it can disappear if the log is too long. We would like it to be clearly visible on the Reading List level and placed next to the Review Requester field.
We need this solution for better reporting and list management. We believe that this should be an easy fix, as all of the information is already available in the system.

Rejected Purchase Request - not detaching brief BIB in Alma Course Reserves
If we place a Purchase Request through Alma Course Reserves - the system generates a brief BIB with MMS ID against the citation. But if the Purchase Request is Rejected, the brief BIB is deleted from Alma (proper) but not from Alma Course Reserves and the citation remains resource located against the brief BIB that will not be fulfilled.
Currently, we are manually detaching these citations but do think that if the brief BIB is deleting in Alma proper it should be reflecting in Alma Course Reserve.
Can the brief BIB be removed from the citation in Alma Course Reserves…

allow course archiving as well as reading list
The title says it all. Alma allows you to archive reading lists, which is useful--this leaves them as reportable in Analytics but removes them from Alma -- however strangely this function does not exist for at the course level, including the course that contains any archived reading lists. Since we get new course records every semester, this leaves a lot of expired courses that our reserves staff have to wade through, and makes this archiving feature note very useful for the course management workflow. If you deleted courses, any reading lists that had been archived would disappear from Analytics.

Support http protocol in reading list and section description fields
At the moment URLs in the description fields of reading lists and sections are handled as plain text whereas URLs in public notes are automatically recognized as links and behave as such.
We'd like to see this functionality for all text fields in the Leganto UI. URLs should always be clickable links.15 votesAvailable in March release in the new UI interface.

Bulk updating of citations across reading lists
Situation
One of our tasks in checking reading lists is ensuring that the version of each title is the latest edition. Acquisitions staff will check book citations on a reading list and, if there is a newer edition available, purchase and replace the citation on the list with this new version.Problem
When a specific title is used on multiple lists, Acquisitions staff are having to manually identify all citations using this title, add the newer edition to the reading list, and remove the older edition from the reading list.Staff are also having to manually transfer any specific reading/public/resource…
247 votesWe are closing this idea as the functionality requested in the original idea can be done using the new edition replacement feature requested via NERS. See the April 2023 release notes for more information: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Leganto/Release_Notes/2023/Leganto_2023_Release_Notes?mon=202304BASE

Allow bulk update to material type of citations
When adding citations that are ebooks, it is common that the material type is not correctly populated as 'ebook'. The material type often presents as an empty field or as a 'book'
Statistically our institution is tracking analytics to monitor how many citations are print books vs ebooks. In order to perform this reporting accurately, the material type of these ebook citations needs to be updated.
There are additional situations where material types could be consolidated (For example citations can come through as 'Video','Streaming','Streaming Video') and we would like to consolidate these into a single Video material type.
Currently this…

Allow Leganto to display different general messages to different user groups
Leganto February 2021 release included an Ideas Exchange introducing:
“Two new parameters allow you to define when and to whom the value in the general message parameter will display…The new generalmessagerole parameter allows you to specify that the value in the general_message parameter will display only for the user role indicated”The University of New South Wales welcomes this enhancement. We believe that the ability to display a different message simultaneously in both Leganto Instructor and Student environments improves this communication functionality further.
This provides the benefit of varying the wording of messages aimed at differing target groups.…

Add year field to course bulk update job
The course bulk update job can be used to update most of the key fields for each course, eg terms, start dates - but not the year.
We don't want to have to update the year field manually for all of our courses, so can this option be added to the course bulk update job?

Instructor role - view reading list status from Leganto
With the instructor role, the reading list status is not displayed when working on the list from Leganto.
We find it very necessary for the instructor to know at all times what state the reading list is in so that when the process is finished, he can publish the list. We ask that this privilege be included in the instructor role.25 votesThe Reading List Status displays to instructors in Leganto when they click on "List info"

Allow new (custom) type when creating a citation
I understand that this may be a complex undertaking since a new citation type will impact interoperability with Alma (and Primo). However, is there possibly a way to provide the function to create basic custom types that are mapped to a min. number of fields (title, author / creator, date source, file; or DC fields). For example, our staff wanted to create type 'tutorial' which does not exist (they are using the 'website' as a workaround).

Section IDs in Analytics
We currently have an issue where staff are wanting to add Section permalinks into a VLE called Insendi. It would be great if Section IDs added to Analytics or to the API. In order that we could create a report that creates section permalinks to be added to Insendi.

Filter / Remove 'notes' from material type filter
Notes are not a type of citations and shouldn't be grouped with books, journals, articles, websites, etc.
They could easily be moved to filter-group that contains due dates and likes.1 voteNotes are no longer included in the "Type" filter in the new UI.

In the Alma Reading list view of citations, allow Citation Last Modification Date to take operators such as 'before/after or between' etc
It would make some checks on reading lists easier if it was possible to more effectively filter the citations displayed, not just by the facets, but by having additional operator options for the Citation Last Modification Date. Having not just a specific date but before/after and between dates would make this more powerful.
It might be useful it it was possible be more intelligent here by offering a date since list sent for review, etc

DCS Synchronise job to run more frequently
The DCS Synchronise job can currently only be scheduled to run once every day at 23:00. It would be helpful if this job could be scheduled to run more frequently throughout the day, for example every 4 hours. This would streamline the DCS integration and allow requests to be updated and made available more quickly.
For example, if an urgent digitisation request has been processed via the DCS, it will not update on the reading list in Leganto until later on in the evening, unless staff manually update the citation using the Update DCS status action. If the job could…

Allow website to be default CiteIt! material type rather than Other
When checking lists created by academics, when they use Citeit! and if the site is not recognised/supported, the default material type chosen by Citeit! is "Other", but other is not very helpful when almost all of the time the material type is effectively website at least by definition. It would be useful if it was possible to configure it to default non-recignised/supported websites to be added as Website citation material type (non repository citations added via CiteIt!) as it would save Library staff having to edit these for no real benefit, either in terms of metadata checks, or in terms…

Add a "Set complete" option for Library staff to the Edit Multiple items options
In November 2020 the Edit Multiple Items option was added to the Leganto interface. One option which would really help Library staff when processing and checking lists would be to add the "Set Complete" option (only visible to Library staff) to the bulk options (delete, add notes, visibility dates etc.)

When copying a section from one list to another provide a 'search for' option to find the list you want to move to.
At present it gives a randomly ordered list of all lists on 'My Lists' so hard to find the one you want if as a librarian you manage a lot of lists.
