Add filter for "Available Now" (i.e. not checked out etc.) to Availability filter/facet
The Availability filter/facet in Primo VE currently includes options to limit by "Available online" and "Held by library". It would be helpful if these options could be further refined to enable filtering to materials that are actually currently fully available/accessible -- for example, not checked out to another user or in another out-of-library processing status. This is functionality that I see in other library catalogs, especially for electronic resources/ebook collections.

8756 made it through NERS 2024, this should become possible by autumn 2025.
"Primo VE Facet for physical availability, configurable for locations / policy"

I just added votes to this, even though it looks like it's been determined it won't work. It's exactly what we need. Where could I find Ex Libris's explanation of why it's not possible in VE?

As this won't happen in Primo VE for performance reasons, maybe the thread could/should be closed as "won't do" to release the votes?

Did not make it though round 2 of NERS.

A facet for "available on shelf" for physical items would be a good start. This is available in PBO but not in VE.

And it's apparently a parity issue compared to Primo BO.
Via the Primo mailing list:
"BO has a top level “Available in the Library” facet to limit your results to just items that are available on shelf, while VE has a similarly named “Held By Library” facet that limits items to physical titles – whether or not they are on shelf."

And if this filter could be used for "available for check out", it would be great.

This filter should not just be available for Primo VE only!
