    The current lack of transparency in holdings data significantly limits our ability to effectively utilize collections with the autoholdings function. While the autoholdings feature serves as a valuable touchstone for confirming access, it unfortunately hinders our ability to make informed purchase decisions when deeper analysis of our access is required.

    Alma Digital (soon to become Alma Specto) provides multiple methods for managing book covers or other digital material which are complementary to the print.

    1. Auxiliary representations. These won’t be indexed in Primo as online services, since they don’t represent the complete content of the record. Using the display logic rules, users can define whether they will be displayed via the quick access service or online section in Primo/
    2. Other representation types – You can deactivate the representation, in which case it won’t be indexed or appear in Primo, however a thumbnail will be generated using the file.
