  1. Add Date Presented to Analytics Researcher Subject Area > Date

At the moment, the Esploro Researcher subject area > Asset Dates has nearly all dates except "Date Presented", which is only in the Esploro Research Assets subject area.

This means that if we need to produce a report that includes the dates of our assets, we need to use the Researcher subject area instead of the Research Assets subject area. Alternatively, we need to manually add the date for any 'date presented' assets.

It would be good if the dates were the same in each of the subject areas allowing for more flexibility in reporting.

  2. Report on Duration field and other fields not yet visible in Analytics

Currently, there is no way to report on the duration field, either through Analytics or via advanced search. It would be good to be able to report on this field, seeing as you are able to input data into this field.
There are also other fields that are not yet visible in Analytics. Pages is one example. All fields that are able to have data inputed via the Esploro UI should be reportable via Analytics.

  3. Order type for APC and "Read and Publish" agreements

We have started to make APC (Article Processing Charge) agreements and also Read and Publish (to publish OA at no additional costs) agreements between the Library and some publishers.
We found that there is no suitable order type to use in Alma when creating such orders.

We ask Ex Libris to add a suitable order type for such orders.

  4. Identify suppressed records in Analytics

We would like a way to identify suppressed records in Analytics.
We can see the utility of suppressed records in our system, but we're reluctant to apply this functionality until we have a reliable way to find them again. If we could identify the records through Analytics, we could keep track of them over time. This would allow us to include/exclude them from reports. This would be useful as policies and procedures change, it may be necessary to publish the suppressed records or delete them from the system entirely.
As an example, a faculty member may add a conference presentation…

Thank you for this idea but please note that this is already supported with the “Display in portal” field (added in May release)

  5. Research Repository

Add internal affiliation to non-affiliated researcher in the creator section of the asset form

Currently it is not possible to add an internal affiliation in the creator section of an asset against a non-affiliated researcher. This poses a problem for adjuncts, visiting academics, as well as staff that may have left the institution or had a researcher record automatically created on import. As the publication cycle often has a lag of a couple of years, assets may come into Esploro after the researcher has left, or the researcher may never have had an internal researcher record to begin with. It…

  6. Job for bulk approval of deposits/assets

Please add the job to perform a bulk approval of assets/deposits. Since we are able to load via smart expansion of a CSV file, we are able to load large amount of data but we still have to manually approve each one.

  7. Allow Changes of ETD Asset Type of Existing ETD Records

Sometimes it is necessary to change the Asset type of an ETD. For example, a change from an ETD-Doctorate to ETD-Graduate. At present there is no way of doing this. When a change is required, a new record needs to be created. This is both inefficient and results in the author losing all of their usage statistics.

  8. Ability to Search on All Date Types in the Esploro Repository Admin Screens

Our previous institutional repository software allowed for the searching of recently added records and the sorting of existing search results into most recently created. This was a search I used frequently as an administrator to quickly compile lists for requestors or for quality checking already added records. This function is required to create a set of newly added theses for checking.

  9. Researcher Profiles - Education Field

Issue: Currently on the researcher profile there is no way to re-arrange the education/qualifications on the profile and there is no logic to how the qualification and education history is displayed i.e. if dates are entered it does not impact the order of display.

Impact: A researcher who is adding Education and qualifications to their profile will want to dispaly their educational qualifications in a particular order, either from most recent to oldest, oldest to most recent, Highest qualification to least (Phd - Undergrad - certificate). Currently to add a missing qualification or to re-order the qualifications all must be…

  10. Homepage Search Scope Order (Output vs Profiles)

On the new Esploro homepage portal interface, the default search scope for the search box is Outputs. We would like the ability to change the default search scope to be Faculty Profiles.

  11. Portal - Author/Creator Facet - Show/Filter by Affiliated Persons Only

Currently the Portal shows both affiliated and non-affiliated persons together in the 'Author/Creator' facet on the results page. The suggestion here is that this facet should show only affiliated persons. The purpose of the portal is to reflect institutional work, and this would clarify that the portal user is filtering to affiliated persons. This would also reduce the potential for duplication of names (e.g. where a non-affiliated person was imported as two different persons).

    For example, please see: https://scholarlyworks.adelphi.edu/discovery/search?query=any,contains,%22Adelphi%27s%20Celebration%20of%20Scholarly%20Research%20%26%20Creative%20Works%202021%22&tab=Research&search_scope=Research&sortby=title&vid=01ADELPHI_INST:ResearchRepository&offset=0

(where Barbara Milrod and Barbara L Milrod currently appear as separate persons due to multiple non-affiliated person imports)

  12. Manually reorder researcher education history

Currently you cannot reorder the education history in a researcher record or via the profile. When you add education (without date information) through the profile or researcher record, it automatically creates a new row at the bottom of the list. Thus, if you are adding education information that was missed, this could result in the list not being sorted chronologically. Adding dates in does allow the sort to work properly, but only if you have dates for all education entries. If you only have partial dates, it will sort the numbered entries correctly, and the unnumbered ones will be sorted…

    Dear Elyse,

We implemented a drag and drop option to reorder the education section in the profile (by the researcher, accessible through the "Settings / Edit Profile" section.

Other profile areas have re-order drag and drop options as well - Links, Honors and Research Topics.

We currently do not have re-order functionality by the admin in the information management hub for the education section, and no configuration to control the order of display.

In case this is sufficient for this request, let us know so we can close this idea.

If there is still a need for making these changes in the information management hub - I would suggest opening a separate idea request.

    Thank you for your suggestions!

    Na'ama
