  1. folder lock

Have an option to lock certain folders which prohibits articles being deleted from them. Would help from accidentally losing files.

  4. Manual Referencing - Editing/Deleting Fields

It would be useful if fields could be deleted as well as added when editing or compiling a manual reference e.g. Bills – we do not need the Sponsors field as it will add Anon which is not required.

  5. Citation Style Editor: customize fields more

In an output-style the field Publish year (date) is listed twice in one reference type. Behind the Short title and behind Place of Publication. The first time it is mentioned, it should end with a parenthesis. The second time not. But it is not possible to define different settings. I think it should be possible to differ. My suggestion is: It should be possible to choose a field, make a copy and give it a new name, for example "Publication date with parenthesis". Then I can edit the field independent from the other field "Publication date".

Thank you for this opportunity. I want to suggest that the platform be modified so that one can read an article while using the web version.

  8. Specify when multiple shared first-authors or selectively modifying a given citation

Nowaday, there are more and more issues with sharing of first-authorship. In our field, it is recommended to cite all first-authors.

    Here are two articles:
    1. Dohner K., Ramos-Nascimento A., Bialy D., Anderson F., Hickford-Martinez A., Rother F., Koithan T., Rudolph K., Buch A., Prank U., et al. Importin alpha1 is required for nuclear import of herpes simplex virus proteins and capsid assembly in fibroblasts and neurons. PLoS Pathog. 2018;14:e1006823. doi: 10.1371/journal.ppat.1006823
    2. Schilling M, Bulli L, Weigang S, Graf L, Naumann S, Patzina C, Wagner V, Bauersfeld L, Goujon C, Hengel H, Halenius A, Ruzsics Z, Schaller T, Kochs…

  9. Highlighting OCR'ed pdfs

Pdfs that are imported from subscription databases are able to be highlighted and notes created. However, pdfs from other sources, like scanned pdfs, smartphone created pdfs, and pdfs from the web, are not able to be highlighted and notes added. It would be nice if pdfs from any source, imported into RefWorks, can be highlighted and notes created in the document.

  10. Please make RefWorks for Google Docs compatible with Open Athens (single sign on)

Please make RefWorks for Google Docs compatible with Single Sign such as OpenAthens. Our students don't want to use it since it requires an additional password.

  11. link resolver visible in publicly shared folders

I would like to have our LinkResolver links visible in publicly shared folders as an alternative to attachments. That way we can prevent giving illegal access to subscription based articles outside our institution.

  12. citas hipertextuales

  13. Provide the ability to add different reference types to an existing style

There are new forms of information all the time and students are referencing increasingly varied things in their assignment. It would be useful if we could add new reference types to our institutional referencing style to cover these things.

  14. APA Output Style

Create an option to truncate or untruncate the output in APA. There are times when a truncated citation in APA format is fine. Other times, I need to have a list of each and every author.

  15. RefWorks on board in a computer. Like Endnote is resident.

Need to be able to access RefWorks on an offline basis. Not everyone can write their papers on an online only basis.

  16. try to generate a performance: function FIND ( phrases, words, collors, field codes...)

The idea is to find all you need by using an pertinent function FIND which works with all formats.

  19. Remove shared folder access codes

We've noticed that when a user shares a folder, the link that the recipient receives generates a screen that asks for an access code if they are not already logged into RefWorks.

We can see that there is a login link in the top banner but most of our users will miss this.

Is it possible to have the usual login options (e-mail address and institutional login) in the main screen?

We've also noticed that, once you do login, it takes a little while for the shared folder to appear in the menu section on the left and once it…

  20. Make more author name flexibility possible!

Currently, anything that does not follow a strict last-first name format doesn't work in Refworks. (E.g. the citation manager can't handle "Paul VI" as an author.) This seems like it would be so easy to fix by the use of quotation marks or some other indicator to keep the formatting as it is typed by the user. The entire world doesn't strictly follow Western-style naming traditions....
