Add customizable BibTex citekey field
The ability to export Bibtex files is a key feature of RefWorks. However, the format of the citekey is terrible - too long and difficult for users to recall. Other reference managers allow customization of this field, and RefWorks should, too.

I would like to emphasize and subscribe David complain that THE KEY IS NOT AVAIBLABLE in the UI, so one MUST export the reference to be able to insert the cite in the text.

Since this update, the Bibtex export no longer works as is for me. RefWorks developers added in the short citekey but also left in there the long doc ID. Bibtex cannot recognize both. RefWorks needs to remove one or the other or else users must manually edit the export for it to work.

Additionally, RefWorks should be able to read this field in when a new .bib file is being imported. Who would want to go through and add all their old labels again?

Refworks is far less useful with BibTeX and LaTeX than was Legacy RefWorks because of this problem. The current cite key is not even available in the UI, so you have to go to the exported BibTeX file to find it. The key is something like
RefWorks:doc:58504683e4b0c3b530675da9m
which is human unfriendly in the extreme. Worst of all, there is no backward compatibility to Legacy RefWorks, so to use ProCrest RefWorks I would have to change all the \cite{} references in all my LaTeX documents to the new keys. Needless to say, I am sticking with Legacy. One of the customization options should be the RefID field that is imported from Legacy to maintain that compability. Another option should be the kay that Google Scholar generates, which is human friendly. All this could easily be added as a customization in Setting. -

Yes, this should really be implemented!
