  1. Could it be possible to allow a SpringShare Libapps widgets to appear in Leganto front-end (e.g LibChat)

This ideas is to explore how far it might be possible to allow integration with a common Library CRM tool - whether it might be possible to integrate Libchat into Leganto. LibChat is the live chat bit of LibAnswers application from SpringShare's LibApps suite. and widgets can be added to webpages, and required a script element in the page HEAD or bottom, and then a div id added where the chat widget was called in the page.
Allowing such an integration for a common tool (which would be possible in a Primo customisation) would potentially allow more flexible support options.…

  2. Ability to configure citation processing rules to not generate purchase request

At the moment, the citation processing rules are configured in such a way to only enable the generation of purchase requests if the criteria of the rule are met.
It would be useful if it was possible to also create rules which could specify that a purchase request should not be generated if the criteria are met, and to be able to set the rules in order of priority. This should work in the same way as the fulfillment unit rules so that rules are worked through from top to bottom and only the first applicable rule is used; all…

  3. Copyright Clearance Center Annual License Integration

For institutions paying for the Copyright Clearance Center's annual license, it would be helpful if the process for checking permissions using RightFind could be integrated with Leganto. RightFind provides instructors with the ability to search for resources by title or ISBN/ISSN. The results display whether digital or photocopy sharing is permitted with a link to check pay-per-use. If instructors could see that a resource was already covered through the CCC annual license when adding citations, it would prevent the need to search in a second platform.

  4. Create a history tab on Course records in Alma

When looking at a course record in Alma, you can see which students are currently enrolled, along with other information about the course and who the instructors are. However, the course record doesn't have a history tab at all, so there's no record of any changes that may have happened to a course over time.

Keeping such a history would be valuable - it would help to know if the begin and end dates have been changed, or when instructors were added or removed.

The changes are in Alma but this functionality would be very helpful for us as Leganto…

  5. Display logo and favicon in the Leganto configuration area

When we upload a header logo and/or a Leganto favicon, it doesn't show in the configuration area. Having it there would improve the experience because it would be easy to see if you had uploaded a logo/icon or not, and which one it was.

This isn't a huge problem, but it also seems like it could have a simple solution - just display the file and filename in the Alma config.

  6. Enable selection of multiple RLs when adding a resource

Some times the same record / resource needs to be added to multiple reading lists. Currently it is possible to be done one at a time, by checking each time just one RL (radio button). It will be much more effective to change it so that more than one could be selected (check box).

  7. Course display - current number of enrolled students

The "Number of participants" field is meant to be a place where library staff can enter how many students are expected to be in a course. However, that field doesn't update unless staff manually update it. For libraries loading course enrollments, the actual number can change day to day.

It is possible to find the current number of students in a course if you enable the 'Students' tab for the course display in Alma. However, some libraries may not want to make student enrollment information available to everyone who has an Alma login.

It would be helpful if the current…

  8. Hide locations from Resource Locate

    Hide locations from Resource Locate

We would like an option to filter out specific locations for the resource locate functionality in Leganto.

For legal reasons we can't purge lost/discarded items, they have to remain in Alma where they are collected in locations that are suppressed from discovery so they don't show up in Primo. Unfortunately that doesn't exclude them from being used as positive results for resource locating even though they are not actually available.

We also have several collections that are not accessible to people but (some of them) show up in Primo. Those are also items we wouldn't…

  9. Add in Leganto the possibility to get a QR code for a reading list

As ExLibris / Leganto manager at Universidad de León (Spain), I would like to add in Leganto the possibility to get a QR code for a reading List, similar to the recent Primo VE enhancement. This will allow patrons quickly get a reading list whatever device they use, mainly when using mobile phones.

  10. Leganto integration with MS Teams

With the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, online learning has increased dramatically at our institution. Many instructors use Microsoft Teams for teaching, document sharing and communication with their students and spend most of their working days in their “permanent MS Teams classrooms”. It will be beneficial to, besides having Leganto available in the LMS and embedding a sharable Leganto reading list link in MS Teams, to have Leganto available as an app to add as a tab to the Teams the instructors have built for their courses. See screen capture attached.

  11. Add course adds/drops to the user record history in Alma

When you look at a user record in Alma, you can see the list of courses they are enrolled in. However, the user record's "history" tab doesn't include changes to their course enrollments. Having that history would be useful in troubleshooting access to course materials for individuals – you'd be able to see what they have been enrolled in, as well as when they might have lost access to a given course, for example.

  12. Field to display URL where item type is Website

Where Website is chosen as the item type then it would be useful to have a field that displays the URL, in both the short and long form of the citation in Leganto. Ideally this should be displayed in <angled brackets> in keeping with common reference citation guidelines, but it would also serve as a useful back up if the link were to stop working. This would not need to be a hyperlink and may need to be different to the one that we are using as it would need to exclude any proxy url prefixes that may be in…

  13. Show students why download isn't available

This is relevant when students can see the citation before the download is made available to them.

In this case there are many reasons why the full-text mightn't be available. It might be waiting for copyright clearance. Or the lecturer might have added visibility dates. At the moment all the student can see is that there's no download, so they may complain to the instructor or the library when they actually just need to be patient.

So while the Download link is suppressed, it would be useful to display a brief explanation. Eg "Restricted until [date]" if a date is…

  14. Option to rename/customise the Rialto 'Add Items' search scope

We have recently turned on the option for instructors to 'add items' using Rialto but this terminology is confusing for them.

We would like the option to customise this heading e.g. 'Search our book supplier' or 'Rialto (Library book supplier)'
This should encourage use and facilitate training.

We would much prefer instructors use Rialto rather than Cite It to harvest from publisher websites. Cite It often misses key bib information and/or brings in erroneous e-links.

  15. Support file copy options for reference manager integrations

Leganto does not provide options for uploading files to reading lists via the reference manager integrations (specifically Zotero) and instead shows attached files from Zotero collections as separate citations. It would improve the experience of instructors if the reference manager integrations would allow files to be attached to imported citations, rather than having to reattach those files in the reading list.

  16. Add fields "Date Sent For Library Review Month" / "Date Sent For Library Review Month Key" to the RL dimension in SA Course Reserves

One of our libraries uses additional conditions in Analytics based on "Date Sent For Library Review" in SA Course Reserves. This to be able to change background color depending on when the reading list was sent to the library. It helps them more easily prioritize the follow-up work on the lists.

There is no Month column/field in Reading List dimension table that can be used with Date Sent For Library Review. The only Month and Month Key fields available in Course Reserves subject area are for citations and courses (in Reading List Citation Create Date, Current Course Start Date and…

  17. Allow date filtering on the Edit Citations page

It would allow more flexibility in the Citation-level workflow if there was an easier way of working with dates in the page. Often there are far more citations slowing the page and overloading the users to make this as effective as it could be. It would be useful to be able to filter the report by a date (before/after, or between) and then use the facets to really drill down on criteria to address.

In a list in Alma, there is a "Citation Last Modification Date" which is almost doing something similar, but as it is just a specific date…

  18. LTI Relink to reading list

Currently, LTI links default to going to the course (ie the list of reading lists). If only one reading list is visible to a user, that will open directly, which fooled us into thinking of it as a reading list link, but it is really a course link.

Instructors can relink these LTI links to a specific citation, or to a specific section - it would be useful if they could also relink them to a specific reading list.

When rollover is performed, the relinked item should point to the rolled over (new) reading list, in the same way as…

  19. Overview of readings lists in a study program

    Leganto gives the possibility to
    - link to a specific course (and display the list(s) associated to this course)
    - get an overview of all the reading lists belonging to a specific academic departments, through their course association

The missing link in between is the association of a smaller number of courses, belonging to the same academic department or not:
    the study program.

Librarians and instructors could associate courses to a study program as easily as they can associate a list to a course.
Students could search for a program in the find list interface.
    An overview of all the…

  20. Automatically set Open Access citations to complete

I'd like to propose a new functionality enabling citations that are open access to be set to "complete" (semi-)automatically.

Having to go through all open citations and checking each for possible open access is a cumbersome and time consuming effort we (the library) would like to simplify.

An "[ ] Open Access" checkbox within the Add Item menu, the citation and for Cite It! would enable instructors to do so themselves with little additional work on their side.
