Enable independent hiding of different viewers from Alma D
Re: case 06749385
If an institution has multiple viewers configured for Alma D files, then in Leganto both will appear in the Links/availability area. However, if the educator decides that one of the viewers is better suited for their pedagogical requirements (e.g. Universal viewer has specific features for images/3d objects) and tries to hide the Alma Viewer, then both are hidden.
I feel like this is a bug, as both links have separate "hide" links, but hiding one hides both - they are not isolated. Yet, the Mark as Broken links do work independently.
I was asked to submit to…

Possibility to add item to list and to "My collection" from the same screen
When adding an item to a list from the library search, one is presented with these 3 options: List, Clipboard and Suggestions (see screenshot). It would make sense to be able to add the item to one's collection from there as well. Instead, the instructor has to go to "My collection" and search all over again.

Ability to lock section templates to avoid deletion
We have created two section templates (Weekly readings, Essential and background readings) in addition to the Blank default template. Any member of library staff with access to Leganto can delete the templates we created by clicking the x. We would like the ability to lock these templates to avoid accidental deletion by staff.
See idea 'Removal of standard blank template and ability to create a default institution template which cannot be deleted' for a similar suggestion, which was accepted in November 2021.
10 votesTemplates are managed in Alma in the new UI. Closing this idea as we believe it is no longer relevant.

Add Linkedin Learning resource to the list of supported sites
This Idea to to ask whether the LinkedIn Learning resource used by many institutions for training/self-directly study and learning activities could be added to the list of supported websites for the CiteIt! bookmarklet tool in Leganto for Instructors to harvest metadata and page urls for landing pages and individual courses/course videos possibly

Vertically align the "view online" button in citations
Hello. We are migrating from Talis to Leganto.
In Talis, our students can see the "View Online" button clearly in the bookmarks. This button is always in the same place as they scroll through the list. See the first attached image. It makes for a consistent UX. Students primarily access their reading list content electronically (including articles, websites, scanned chapters) rather than finding a print copy on the shelves.
In Leganto however, the "View Online" button comes after the print holding locations in the citation. This means that as the user scrolls through the list, the "View Online" location in…

Deactivate the bubble "Add items"
The bubble which pops up when you create a new list and indicates 'Add items' is useless, the 'Add items' button is obvious and does not need a contextual help to be noticed.

The initial display of Citation Manager setting
The initial display of Citation Manager settings is Zotero.
We would like Zotero to remain available and initially display Mendeley's Settings.9 votesClosing because the behavior is different in the new UI. Please open a new idea if needed.

Using "Leganto student usage" and noticed that some reading lists/Courses do not appear in this report.
We created a Leganto report with the subject area "Leganto student usage" and noticed that some reading lists do not appear in this report.
We assume that this is because there has not been any student interaction with these lists but there is nothing about this in knowledge center documentation.
We have been having to run separate analytics reports to get all the data we need it.
It would be nice to be able to use the Leganto Student Usage criteria to gather statistics on ALL the reading lists, courses and citations, regardless if they’ve been used or not.14 votesWe will not add all reading lists to the student usage subject area. We have updated the documentation to indicate that the student usage subject area only includes information about courses/lists/citations with usage, and there is an out of the box report that lets you see lists without usage. For the report, go to Shared Folders/Leganto/Reports and see Reading Lists without Usage

Display whether citation appears on another list
Previously there was a feature that displayed whether a citation existed on another reading list, with some limited functionality, e.g. only displaying if the other list was also on your My Lists page and the citation was an Alma repository item. This feature was taken away by Product Management in January 2022. We have received feedback from instructors that they would like to know when a citation is in use on any other list at the institution, including those not taught by them and where courses are not currently active (but lists are Published). This ensures they are not duplicating…
10 votesWe removed this option because it was limited to Alma repository items and therefore displayed inaccurate information. We do not plan to add it back in.

3 votesIn the new UI, the type and the title are on two separate lines.

Reading Lists with status “New Citation Added to Completed List” displayed in task lists
We have added the custom reading list status called “New Citation Added to Completed List” in “Additional Reading List Statuses” in our configuration.
For the moment, we are only able to see reading lists with this status in Alma when viewing reading lists “Assigned to Me”.
It would be very useful and make working with reading lists easier if we could have a task in the task list displaying reading lists where this status is present.

Duplicating lists - make it clearer that the duplicated list is the copy
When you duplicate a reading list, '(1)' is added to the end of the title. This is easy to overlook, and academic staff often make multiple copies because they are not sure it has worked.
We would like the duplicated list to say "Copy of" at the beginning of the title instead. This would replicate the behaviour when a section is copied and would more clearly differentiate the two lists.

Allow institutions to use old display of "Add items" menu
Prior to May 2021, the 'Add items' button opened 'Library Search' in the panel, with other options available in small tabs. Since May 2021, the panel shows a menu with several boxes (at Sheffield we only see three boxes).
This changed view means that getting to Library Search takes an extra click and it increases the risk that academic staff will manually enter the details instead of using Library Search. We would like 'Library Search' to be given priority.
We would like institutions to have the option to return to the previous view to encourage staff use of 'Library Search'…

Include option for sans-serif header font in Leganto
Currently the four options for fonts in Leganto all have serif fonts as their header fonts. Our university has recently moved to a new webpage style where all text (headers included) is sans-serif, and we'd like an option to have this reflected in Leganto for the sake of consistency.
The existing font options already include sans-serif fonts for content text, so perhaps one of these could be suitable as a header font in the correct size.

List Analysis: ability to customise fields that display
When the List Analysis feature is switched on, it is not currently possible to customise which analytics fields display. Some of the fields relate to functionality which can be disabled in Leganto, therefore it should be possible to disable the related analytics field to not display in the citation analysis, as the usage will also remain at zero. This is discouraging and confusing for teaching staff.
For example, institutions can configure whether or not files can be uploaded to citations. If this is not configured, then the usage for 'Student File Downloads' becomes irrelevant and should be possible to be…

Add Leganto Question when exporting title from Primo
We were asked by multiple instructors why there is no Leganto Question when they push a title from Primo to their reading list via the export functionality.
As we are using this (amongst other things) to remind them to add tags to their citations, instructors really depend on this feature and don't understand why it's missing in Primo. We as librarians also don't understand why the feature was not developed when 'Export to Leganto' was added to Primo's export actions last year.
If there is a connection between products (like Primo <> Leganto) all features should be available. Everything else…
18 votesHi,
Thank you for being involved.
We are closing this idea as it would require an excessive amount of time to develop.

Allow instructors to view reading lists for courses in My Lists without being collaborator/owner of list
It should be possible in My Lists for instructors to view all courses where they are listed as an instructor and any lists associated with those courses, without being a collaborator or manually adding the courses to My Lists. Perhaps via a sub-section within My Lists e.g. My Courses, to designate those where they are a reading list owner and those where they are not.
This would be of use if the functionality to auto-add instructors as collaborators to lists was not enabled, to allow instructors to be able to see which courses they are associated to. It could also…

Course code facet in Manage Purchase Requests
Adding a facet for course code in Manage Purchase Requests would be extremely beneficial for staff processing reading list purchases, allowing them to view and work through all purchase requests at a list level.
Currently some course-related facets do exist in Manage Purchase Requests, such as course year and academic department. Being able to filter by individual course codes would a welcome addition to this. The course code can be viewed within the purchase request itself, so it seems logical to be able to add this as a facet
