1. List filter: Move Notes from 'Types' to 'Subject'

   The Filter tab contains four different categories: Section, Tag, Type, Subject.
   Notes are sorted in 'Type' even though they are not a type of citation. Ideally they should be sorted in 'Subject'

2. course terms - change code to correspond with description

   We are about to start using Terms in Leganto. However, we have seen that you can only change the description of TERM1 etc. not the code. Therefore it is very confusing to remember TERM1 is All Year or TERM9 is Short Module - Spring. This will be difficult to work with when creating the course loader files for the annual rollover. It would be much better if you could change the code as well as the description in the course terms mapping table, so they match.

3. section permalinks in Analytics or API

   We currently manually adding permalinks to Insendi, which is a VLE that Imperial staff have created and are selling to other universities. Some Imperial staff want to put specific section permalinks into specific weekly VLE posts. It would be better, if we could give them a list of permalinks from a Analytics or API export.

4. Add fields "Date Sent For Library Review Month" / "Date Sent For Library Review Month Key" to the RL dimension in SA Course Reserves

   One of our libraries uses additional conditions in Analytics based on "Date Sent For Library Review" in SA Course Reserves. This to be able to change background color depending on when the reading list was sent to the library. It helps them more easily prioritize the follow-up work on the lists.

   There is no Month column/field in Reading List dimension table that can be used with Date Sent For Library Review. The only Month and Month Key fields available in Course Reserves subject area are for citations and courses (in Reading List Citation Create Date, Current Course Start Date and Current Course End Date dimension tables).

   We would like you to add the fields "Date Sent For Library Review Month" and "Date Sent For Library Review Month Key" to the reading list dimension in SA Course Reserves.

5. Add courses to User API

   We have a regular feed of user data from our student information system (SIS) into Alma. The SIS also holds course data, so we'd like to be able to simply include course enrolment data in the existing feed, rather than set up a separate process.

   As well as one process being better than two :-) it's a more practical fit to how the data is available. The current process for course enrolment in Leganto requires us to run one job for added courses and one job for deleted courses. But our SIS can't create a list of courses that have been deleted, so whenever a student changed courses we'd have to delete all their courses, then add all their new ones, and hope they didn't try to access Leganto during the time between the two jobs.

   I'd suggest adding a <courses> section to the current /users API. If users upload a feed where <courses> isn't specified, Alma/Leganto would take no action (this would ensure compatibility for all existing uses). But where <courses> is specified then Alma/Leganto would update the user's enrolments to match the list of <course> elements within it.

6. Library Discussion Notes - glowing indicator when accessed from notification 'bell' icon

   Some users report it is difficult to find Library Discussion Notes at the reading list level and also at the citation level.

   When they log into Leganto, and click on the 'bell' icon for notifications, it would be great if when they click the "New Library Discussion..." within the notifications, the screen would clearly show the new note with a bold red text or a glowing box on the new messages they received.

   It would be even better if Library Discussion was positioned before the Related Items and defaults to being open and easily spotted.

7. Library Discussion Notes - glowing indicator when accessed from notification 'bell' icon

   Some users report it is difficult to find Library Discussion Notes at the reading list level and also at the citation level.

8. Leganto integration with MS Teams

   With the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, online learning has increased dramatically at our institution. Many instructors use Microsoft Teams for teaching, document sharing and communication with their students and spend most of their working days in their “permanent MS Teams classrooms”. It will be beneficial to, besides having Leganto available in the LMS and embedding a sharable Leganto reading list link in MS Teams, to have Leganto available as an app to add as a tab to the Teams the instructors have built for their courses. See screen capture attached.

9. Allow date filtering on the Edit Citations page

   It would allow more flexibility in the Citation-level workflow if there was an easier way of working with dates in the page. Often there are far more citations slowing the page and overloading the users to make this as effective as it could be. It would be useful to be able to filter the report by a date (before/after, or between) and then use the facets to really drill down on criteria to address.

   In a list in Alma, there is a "Citation Last Modification Date" which is almost doing something similar, but as it is just a specific date and not a 'since/before/between' option it is not as flexible as it really could be.

   There may be other ways of 'thinning out' the default Edit Citation view (active courses only, although pre-session working may make this irritation, possibly a default value for course start/ Course year or similar would also assist, but these are probably separate ideas, just to illustrate the workflow impacts.
   Would be good to discuss how these might best work.

10. LTI Relink to reading list

    Currently, LTI links default to going to the course (ie the list of reading lists). If only one reading list is visible to a user, that will open directly, which fooled us into thinking of it as a reading list link, but it is really a course link.

    Instructors can relink these LTI links to a specific citation, or to a specific section - it would be useful if they could also relink them to a specific reading list.

    When rollover is performed, the relinked item should point to the rolled over (new) reading list, in the same way as items relinked to a citation point to the citation in the rolled over list.

    This would be useful for:

    a) students in courses with more than one published reading list

    b) instructors in courses once they've rolled over the list a couple of times: we may need to retain these lists for auditing or reference purposes but instructors don't need to see them on a day-to-day basis. It would also ensure that the link behaves the same for the instructor as it does for the students which currently isn't the case.

    The new UI doesn't have the option to "Relink LTI to here", but it does have the option to copy a link that can be used in the LMS, including a link to the list. To enable, turn on direct_link_from_LMS via Leganto Configuration > UI > List menu

11. Public Note formatting in "View full note"

    If you expand a Public Note that has exceeded the space limit by clicking "Click to view full note" in citation brief view, the original text formatting isn't included. This makes longer public notes difficult to read, since it excludes line-breaks and paragraphs.

    We believe it would improve the user experience if the original formatting, that is visible in full view, is transferred in brief view, View full note, as well.

    The new UI shows the full note and all formatting options on the student view.

12. External Job Notifications

    It would be great if Leganto was able to send external email notifications once a job is complete i.e. Course Load and Enrollment Load. This would eliminate the need for a user to manually go into Leganto to validate jobs, especially if the uploads are using an FTP server and running under a recurrence.

    An email notification would be sent to either a user's email or company email distribution list that would include the status of the job - successful or completed with errors.

    A nice to have would be for the email to include the Event Descriptions.

    Initial thoughts would be that you could configure this email address in the integration profile that is set up for each job.

    Today, the library can add custom links to the useful links, the help documentation, and the getting started videos. We will not add additional buttons to the header.

15. Allow the selection of Course and then Reading List when using LTI in a LMS site

    There is often complex mappings between institutional courses and LMS sites (these are not always a 1-1 mapping) and due to this the automatic LTI match is not viable.

    If courses are pre-loaded into Alma then the instructor may have already built the reading list they require so we do not want the LTI to create another course.

    If the LTI adapter allowed the instructor to select a course first and then the reading list then this would lower administration overhead significantly when there isn't a direct map between the course and LMS site.

16. Hide suggestions from everyone who is not a list owner/collaborator

    At the moment materials suggested for lists are visible to everyone logged in to Leganto, as well as who suggested it and the comment they added.

    We'd prefer if suggestions were only visible to list owners/collaborators.

    There already exists an API for the retrieval of a list of users for a particular course:

18. Improve Courses search in Alma - Add an 'is empty' operator in the advanced search option for Course Year

    The persistent search in Alma has a Courses option, and an advanced search can be constructed based on several course fields, including Course Year. As this field is not always filled in by LTI or manual course creation methods, it would be useful if the search operators on Course Year allowed staff to search for an empty field as well as the current single option of "Contains Keywords".

19. Could it be possible to allow a SpringShare Libapps widgets to appear in Leganto front-end (e.g LibChat)

    This ideas is to explore how far it might be possible to allow integration with a common Library CRM tool - whether it might be possible to integrate Libchat into Leganto. LibChat is the live chat bit of LibAnswers application from SpringShare's LibApps suite. and widgets can be added to webpages, and required a script element in the page HEAD or bottom, and then a div id added where the chat widget was called in the page.
    Allowing such an integration for a common tool (which would be possible in a Primo customisation) would potentially allow more flexible support options. A refinement of this might be that chat was only viewable to students or instructors, but the basic option to be able to embed chat (or perhaps other widgets).

20. Create a history tab on Course records in Alma

    When looking at a course record in Alma, you can see which students are currently enrolled, along with other information about the course and who the instructors are. However, the course record doesn't have a history tab at all, so there's no record of any changes that may have happened to a course over time.

    Keeping such a history would be valuable - it would help to know if the begin and end dates have been changed, or when instructors were added or removed.

    The changes are in Alma but this functionality would be very helpful for us as Leganto users, trying to make sure that the system works correctly for the classes using it.
