Add a job to (dis)associate reading lists with course(s)
By default un-associated reading lists are attached to the Exlibris default course, and currently any reading lists imported by Exlibris - ie from Equella, require that the courses already exist, in order to associate properly.
However, what happens if you want to change the association of a reading list to a course or courses? There is currently no API mechanism to do this, and the reading list import by Exlibris can't be run in 'resynch' mode where the courses may have been created after the reading list import.
What we're suggesting is that a job can be run using a spreadsheet as import, containing either reading list + course IDs or reading list + course codes, and the association operation, and that this job can (re)connect courses with reading lists, or disassociate lists from courses .
This would allow for:
- readings lists to be associated with multiple courses
- currently un-associated lists be attached to courses
- the association between a list and course be removed if the operation is (dis/un)associate.
There should perhaps even be an API added to allow courses and readings lists be (dis)associated one-by-one ie something like:
using a similar associate/disassociate operation keyword.
