  1. Sort loans by "Due date--earliest" and "Due date--latest"

Under the “loans” section in Primo user accounts, two of the most important sort options are labelled “Due date--newest” and “Due date--oldest”.

“New” and “old” isn't how folks usually describe due dates (correct me if I'm wrong). Rather, you talk about what's due sooner/earlier and what's due later.

Could Primo either allow institutions to customise the labels, or relabel the sorting options as “Due date--earliest” and “Due date--latest”, or some such contrast (closest/farthest)?

  2. Add autocomplete to embedded search tile/box

When setting up a Primo search tile or search box to embed in a library's website it would be great if it were possible to enable autocomplete in the embedded search box/tile so that it works the same way as it does in the Primo interface.

This would help library users enormously.

  3. Add a prm-alma-mashup-after angular directive

It's hard to work with the alma-mashup without the prm-alma-mashup-after directive and the lack of the directive is inconsistent with the rest of the markup in Primo.

  4. Sort date of FRBR groups in date-sorted results lists

When sorting a brief results list by date, obviously always the sort date of the earliest member of a FRBR group is taken to represent the whole group. We would expect that in sort order "year (ascending)" the publication date of the earliest member record is taken, and in sort order "year (descending)" the publication date of the latest member.

The KB article is for classic UI only.

Due to security, we need to force user login.

  7. Feature in advanced search to retrieve all records in a certain language

It should be possible in advanced search to choose a language and submit search and get all books in that language without having to write a word to search. As it works now it's impossible to retrieve exactly ALL books in a language in one result list. Check this feature in Libris: http://libris.kb.se/form_extended.jsp?f=ext

  8. Book covers images for generic FRBR result

In the result list a generic FRBR document does not show a cover image but only the generic FRBR icon. The result list would look much more attractive if also FRBR results had real cover images. Ideally, the real covers images of the top 3 FRBR results were used to form a fan of covers. So, the FRBR icon would only be used if there are no real covers images.

  9. Opening results in a new tab - stop it defaulting to the top of the list

In the new Library Search, every time I open a search result in a new tab, the list of results resets to the top of the list. This is very annoying, especially if i have already had to load 3 or more pages of results.

  10. Read-only permission set for back-office users

As both a training tool and for wider understanding of the primo product, we would like to have a read-only permission profile where heads of public service or others could look up configuration/normalization settings, but not commit permission changes. As it stands now, each permission set has the ability to write to at least one area of back office. We would like a 'do-no-harm' account that senior or technically abled library staff could review/suggest changes without having the ability to make the change.

  11. Check for physical copies between data sources

Currently records harvested from local sources (e.g. Dspace) can not crosswalk to records from Alma. This means that a patron who finds a record from dspace for a dissertation can not determine if the dissertation is held as a physical copy using the find it tab in Primo.

    For example, see http://searchit.lib.ksu.edu/KSUD:Entire_Library_Collection:01KSU_DSPACE2097/18531

The view it tab works, but the Check for Physical Copy times out because Primo's code is not set up to support checking for physical copies from sources other than Primo Central.

I request that the code be enhanced to support this discoverability.

  12. "Save query" for zero results

Add the "Save query" option to zero-results pages (similar to how it already appears on results pages) for when you want to be notified of expected future results. For example, you might want an alert for a recently published article not yet in PCI, or an emerging topic that nothing has yet been written about.

  13. Have Available status in Primo be variable so that it shows Recently Returned for 24 hours and then automatically changes to Available

Currently there is a single code table label showing an Available status. Having the option to configure a label of Recently Returned that would display for 24 or 48 hours and then automatically change to Available would more accurately tell the patron and staff twhere an item might be.

  15. "Show Source Record" to users with Alma Staff Role only

Although we can now display the MARC record in the UI using the "Show source records" we feel this feature is only really useful for Library staff and not for the vast majority of users who will not find it useful and will just add clutter to the full record for the majority. Ideally we would like the "Show source records" to be linked to the Alma library staff role so it will only display when our library staff are logged into Primo.

Currently the only option to display this link in the UI is to have it appear for…

  16. Allow deletion of old unused pipes

We've got a long list of pipes, including some from an old repository we don't have anymore, and one I accidentally created with the wrong type (regular instead of delete-and-reload). These clutter up the list and make it harder to find the ones I actually use. It would be really good if we could delete the ones we don't want anymore.

(Or at least to be able to hide them, or if nothing else then to be able to rename them to "zzzDON'TUSE" or something.)

  17. Ability to increase the number of results that are loaded at a time in New UI

Currently, the Primo New UI retrieves 10 search results. It is not possible to increase the number of results.
We would like the ability to configure the number of results that are loaded at a time.

We view product performance as a top priority, and invest significant effort on optimizing search response time and UI rendering time.
We believe that keeping Primo’s default number of results is important for maintaining high product performance. This configuration also allows us to perform performance testing and measurements.
This request was previously discuss with the Primo Working Group during NERS process, and it was agreed not to proceed in this direction.

  18. Consortia environment; Provide inheritance for open access collections

At present, open access collections that are activated by the consortia account are not "inherited" by individual members of the consortium. Given the number of open access collections, and the possible number of consortia members, it can be a tedious task to activate a large number of OA collections for each member.
We would like to see that OA collections can be "inherited" as well, just like regular subscription collections.

  19. sorting gets lost when switching scopes

If a user sets the sorting of the result list, her predefined sorting gets lost on switching between search scopes. In this case, the sorting returns to the default, e.g. "by relevance".

We see this in the new UI as well, but think that users should not be forced to select their preferred sorting again and again.

Please consider this to enhance user experience.
