Display only the last entered Date Range facet
When a person refines a date a second time in Primo, Primo simply displays an additional date facet in the Active Filters area. For example, a person initially filters a search to Years: 1919-2025 and then decides to filter again by Years: 2024-2025. Instead of removing the first date facet and replacing it with the second, Primo simply adds the second facet underneath the first facet. This does not make sense and presents a usability problem for the end user. In all other cases, when two facets are used within the same category, they are to be regarded as having an OR Boolean between them. (Example: Books OR Articles) But in this case, the user does not want DateRange1 OR DateRange2. Their date range should be REFINED (i.e., changed/updated), as the button implies. And this is indeed what the Refine Date functionality does in actuality; it reruns the search according to the latest Date Range entered by the user. It does not run a search with the multiple Date Ranges combined by an OR Boolean. Therefore, please display only the last Date Range facet as entered by the user to match the Refine Date functionality and increase usability within the system.

I don't see exactly what you describe in Primo VE, but can confirm that the display of the active year facet is confusing.
Testing with two time periods that don't overlap.
