Copy parts of Normalization Rules Sets to other fields in the same set
It would be very useful to be able to copy subsets/blocks of a Normalization Rule Set to other blocks/fields in the same set, instead of manually copying very complicated rules. This was a NERS request from the Free University of Bozen (4440), but it did not receive enough votes.

Definitely something we need, having an export/import that would allow tranfert using XML files or other would be great.

Thanks Luigi. I am still not sure if a new NERS request would make any chance. Probably not, and then it is better to have less requests that may attract enough votes. I hope that Ideas Exchange may be better for things like this.

Dear Lukas thank you for proposing this old NERS request as idea. Both approaches, copy NR subset (statically) or include NR subset (dynamically) are useful. We preferred in our original NERS proposal the latter approach because it allows to use subset of NR as routines in a procedural language, and in case of update of the NR subset, any change would have been applied automatically to/inherited by all NR using that included subset.
On the other hand statically copying pieces of rules - as you propose in this idea - allows to use them as templates and it's perhaps easier to implement. Which might also be a factor.
Under the circumstances, any of the two solutions would be welcomed. -

A related NERS request (not accepted either) from Vienna University Library (4443): " copy selected sections or groups from one set of Normalization rules to another"

The original NERS Request is actually not about copying but about using specific NR blocks in multiple NR locations.

Intermediate solution would be to have an export/import utility for parts of NR sets with the option of selecting a target different form the source
