Integration with worldshare
Have Alma and Worldshare ILL talk with each other enough that they share updates with each other. Right now, the only thing we can do is send a new request to WorldShare. All other functions have to be done in both Alma and WorldShare: receive, return, request for renewal, and cancellation.
3 votesThe missing functionality is dependent on WorldShare development. Alma's NCIP server does enable other broker systems such as ILLiad and Tipasa to communicate actions such as receive , return, renewal and cancellation. That requires the broker system (WorldShare) to implement its end of the integration.

Ability to edit barcode after receiving borrowing request
Sometimes after receiving a borrowing request, we have a need to change the barcode. This could be because the wrong barcode was scanned in, the barcode is not responsive or another reason. However, there is currently no way to change the barcode in the borrowing request record. Staff can update the item barcode (and we do) however this doesn't affect the original barcode that was scanned in against the borrowing request. Add "Date needed by" to Resource Sharing Borrowing Request page display
When first opening the "Resource Sharing Borrowing Requests" page, Alma shows a list of the first 20 requests by default; each request has various pieces of information, including the item's title, format, external identifier, creation date, etc. Each request also has an "Other details" button which reveals additional information like chapter title, volume, call number, etc.
However, neither the main information nor the "other details" fields show the request's "Date Needed By", which is part of the item's request form which the user fills out. The only way to view this information is by clicking "Edit" on the request, which…

Display user's loan due date in borrowing request screen
When a user who has an interlibrary loan requests a renewal of the item, staff need to check both the due date that the partner library has set, and the current due date of the loan on the user's record. This is because we can sometimes extend the due date of the loan without requesting a renewal from the partner library, since the loan due date will still be within the due date that the partner has given us. Clearer displays for different types of Borrowing Requests
Borrowing Requests could use some greater detail and variability in the information fields that display when viewing them in the overall list of current requests. For example, in Borrowing Requests for book chapters (typically "digital format" requests for items with a "book" type), the "Chapter Title" field is hidden in the "Other details" tab; this field would be more immediately visible and helpful to staff if it displayed alongside other standard fields (ex: MMS ID, External Identifier, Partner, Requested Format, etc.) before clicking into "Other details". Allow additional CITATION TYPES for resource sharing requests
When creating a borrowing request from ALMA 'manually', the only options are BOOK and ARTICLE. The same is true from the 'blank resource request' form presented to patrons. It would be nice if we could support additional resource types, like video, audio, maps...or even just an "OTHER" option. With only book and article, it appears as though those are the only types of things that are requestable.

Compare loan due date with partner library's due date to determine renewal
We have the mediated patron renewal workflow activated for Borrowing Requests. Users often request renewal of interlibrary loans via My Library Account that do not need renewing with the partner library because a further loan period fits within the due date that the partner library has set.
Currently, staff check these two dates manually and extend the user's due date in their record if a renewal with the partner library isn't necessary.

Users should be allowed to place Resource Sharing requests for volumes which are unavailable in local library
For multi-volume titles, if local library has some volumes available, it is not allowed our users to make Resource Sharing requests. It would be very helpful if our users could place Resource Sharing requests for those volumes that are not available at our library. See Support Case #00955156 & #00699280 for further reference.

Converting Digitization request to RS request - The RS request should show this on the first page rather than in the notes section
When converting a digitization request to a resource sharing borrowing request. Currently this is only shown in the notes section. This means interlibrary staff have to do an extra click to see whether the request is a conversion from a digitization. it would be better if this was shown on the first page. So that interlibrary staff can deal with this type of request differently, as it has already been triaged by other library staff.

Provide User Preferred Name option to Resource Sharing Partners
Currently Alma supports User Preferred Names within Alma. We would like to extend this information to our Resource Sharing partners so that any communication on the partner's end to our patrons refers to our patrons preferred name if so defined just like it is handled in Alma.
It would be preferable that on a partner by partner configuration that we could select what user's names are used in NCIP communication.

Borrowing receival - adjusting hold shelf letter
Automatic update of letters sent after receipt of an ILL (Borrowing Requests > Receive), the FulPlaceOnHoldShelfLetter for all kinds of requests, when using (one of) the following two fields:
- Entered request cost
- Reading room onlyIf these fields are filled in/checked, it would be ideal if the letter contains an extra sentence about costs and/or consultation options (no loan, reading room only). Now we have to send a separate mail about this.

Allow truncated resource sharing renewals
When a renewal is requested by a user through Primo, the system appears to automatically ask for a renewal period that equals the loan period which is theoretically fine except that if they request the renewal late enough in their loan it can bump up against the renewal limit or it can bump against the Due Date/Max Renewal Date in the lending side TOU. Converting Digitization request to RS request - The “Requested Pickup Location” should be filled from “Resource sharing library” a requester
When converting a digitization request to resource sharing borrowing request. The “Requested Pickup Location” should be filled by the requesters “Resource sharing library”. Currently there is “No campus” set. As a library that has 8 different campuses, it would be useful to know where the requester wish to pickup the item on conversation. Allow the libraries that appear in the preferred pickup institution dropdown for AFN resource sahring requests to be customizable
When you're submitting a hold request in an AFN, the libraries that appear in the preferred pickup institution are based on your Institutions Relations table, so it's possible to remove certain libraries in the AFN from that dropdown. Unfortunately, that isn't possible for resource sharing requests. Every single library in the AFN appears in the preferred pickup institution dropdown regardless of how the Institutions Relations table is configured. We would like the preferred pickup institution dropdown for resource sharing requests to be customizable in the same manner as the preferred pickup institution dropdown for hold requests.

Improved history tab for lending requests to include when a request is attached to a different MMSID
As a result of lending requests sometimes being attached to an incorrect MMSID, with no clear indication as to why or how, we would like to see an enhancement to the lending request history tab to include information when this happens. This is to better analyze future cases where this error occurs.

Multiple file upload to single digital resource sharing request (lending)
When digitally shipping uploaded files in resource sharing, allow the upload of multiple pdfs, e.g. when a single request reference is for two ebook chapters. Similar to how you can add multiple barcodes to a single request when sending physical items. Thanks.
