Allow reactivation of withdrawn items
It would be very useful to be able to easily reactivate/reinstate withdrawn items. For example, an item that has been made missing, not found, and deleted may turn up later. This is happening more frequently as we are carrying out large scale stock projects, and will increase when we begin regular stock taking.
Ideally when a deleted item is returned or scanned in a message box would alert the user:
"This item was withdrawn on dd/mm/yyyy.
Would you like to reactivate it?
Proceed/Cancel"
All the necessary data appears to be retained (and can be seen in Analytics), and I am…

Resource type for ceased print and electronic serial publications
Ceased and previous print and electronic serial titles (Newspaper, Journal, and Other Serials) are currently assigned a Resource Type of Undefined, based on 008 pos.6 (if pos.6 = d - continuing resource ceased publication). No other serial date statuses are explicitly excluded from Resource Type in this way.
This results in a significant functional impact in Alma as excluding ceased and previous title journals from the resource types associated with all other journals (including those with "unknown," "questionable," and other non-current date codes in 008 pos.6) makes it impossible to do a targeted repository search or analytics report. Forcing the…

Make it possible to delete a NZ bib record from the Institution tab for records that are CZ in origin (consortial environment)
It is possible to delete a Network Zone bib record from one's institution tab, provided that (1) it is a record created within the Network Zone and (2) it is not "Held by" other institution from the network. However, when the record is originally from the Community Zone deleting it is not possible. Even when it is not "Held by" any other institution from the network. This results in a multitude of Community Zone bib records to which there are no holdings in the network. Needless to say, it will be a great asset if institutions can actually delete them.
122 votesNow records that are originated from the Community Zone and used by either the Institution or the Network can be deleted.

Change physical items job -- adding notes
The Change physical items job allows you to add Internal notes 1-3 or Statistical notes 1-3 by REPLACING any notes that already exist in that field, but not by adding the note IN ADDITION TO already existing text. This option needs to be added. Also, the current job allows you to skip records that already contain notes in your selected field but a "successful" run does not report out which records were SKIPPED as a result.

Make 245 $p, $n, $s, $k, $f, $g part of "Title" resource description when viewing/editing holdings and item record details.
Currently when viewing a list of holdings or list of items (and editing them) for a resource/bib in Alma, the $p -- a part/section of a work is not displayed in the resource description for the title. All you see is the main title of the work (245 $a), not the sub-name designation of the part/section. You have no way of knowing which work you are viewing or editing, unless you know the call number specifically.
Example, I have 4 records that are all "The advertising red books" title, but each one is a different part/section of the work. If…
164 votesThe resource description in the headings information for the Record View, List of Items, List of Holdings, the Physical Item Editor, and single holdings was expanded. Also, the resource description was expanded in the MD Editor holdings record header. The resource description now includes the a, n, p, h, b, f, g, k, and s subfields of the MARC 21 / KORMARC 245 field and the a through i subfields of the UNIMARC 200 field.

When using Scan in Items, provide a pop-up window when there is a hold on an item.
When we process returned materials from resource sharing partners we use Scan in Items. If there is a hold on an item it only displays the message on the screen, and does not provide a pop-up alert. It would seem useful to provide a similar pop-up like you get when processing items with Return Items.
114 votesAs of March release you can configure how pop-up messages will display in the Scan In Interface. All messages can be configured to appear as a pop-up message, a feedback message, or to not appear at all. This is defined in the Scan In Messages Configuration table. Additionally, a yellow icon is added to the list of scanned items for patron request of types Booking Requests, Physical Requests, and Patron Digitization Requests to draw the scanning operator’s attention that some items have a patron request associated with them.
An additional informational message was added to the Scan Items page for lost items which were returned (Lost status removed). This message appears as a feedback message and can be configured similar to all other messages in the Scan In interface to appear as a pop-up message, a feedback message, or to not appear at all.

Allow copy number mapping in Alma Import Profiles
The physical item inventory mapping configuration in Alma import profiles does not include the option to add a Copy ID. It creates a lot of extra work to, after importing records, open each item record with multiple copies, to edit the Copy ID field. We would like to be able to assign the Copy ID in the import, as we do the other physical item fields.
78 votesAdditional fields were added to the Import Profile page > Inventory Operations tab for physical inventory. You can map item-level information from these fields in the input file, or indicate a value to be placed in the imported records.

Display OCLC Number in Brief Results Lists
In the brief results display in Alma, the Record Number field is extremely useful in all types of technical services workflows. However, at times a non-OCLC number is displayed in the Record Number field, even though the record contains an OCLC number. The most useful control number from any record is, if present, the OCLC record number.
It appears that the current behavior is for Alma to display the value from the last 035$a subfield in the record. Can we configure this field, or can Ex Libris modify this field, so that if an OCLC number is present in any…
76 votesThe All titles, Physical titles, Electronic titles, and Digital titles repository search results now display all 035 $a content.

Add more times to scheduled weekly bibliographic import jobs
When running import jobs on a schedule Alma only gives us one weekly option (Saturdays at 3:00 a.m.). OCLC WorldShare generally posts new, delete and updated files on Saturday mornings in the early a.m., although not always by 3:00 a.m.
Since it doesn't make sense to run these import jobs daily since record sets are only delivered weekly, we have them set up to run at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday (the only weekly option that Alma gives us). This causes the following problems:1) Files of deleted records are loaded concurrently with files of new records for the same collections…
24 votesAlma now includes additional scheduled times in the Import Profiles job scheduler.

LC call number search and index
LC call number should support indexing all valid MARC fields as mentioned in http://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd050.html and not only 050$a or local 090$a fields.
It should index also $b and than enable to search for full LC call number, of course this should reflects also in the holdings level (i.e. $h,$i etc)25 votesThe LC call number search index is now enhanced and includes more fields.
For more information, please refer to the Alma May release notes and online help.

limit results by location facet in physical title repository search
Ability to narrow search results by location in a physical titles or physical items results screen.
Currently we can limit by material type, language, publication year and resource type.

Metadata Editor Holdings 852 $b
“Libraries” Facet in Physical Item search
Holdings list in the “Physical” drawer in Physical Titles searchTo enable this new sorting, set the sort_library_by_relevance customer parameter to True

Better way to easily identify suppressed bib & holdings records
Currently, it is not possible to quickly identify suppressed holdings records. It is not unusual to have an unsuppressed bib, with one or more suppressed holdings. Would it be possible to place use an icon next to the holdings records on repository search results (similar to what is used for suppressed bibs), or, to use different color coding of the background and/or text? At the very least, the MARC simple view should indicate a holdings record is suppressed, either with wording, an icon, or a color differentiation. (Color differentiation was introduced into Voyager several years ago, and it worked great.)…

Develop a ‘sticky’ last search feature in the Repository search
We have staff in multiple roles, who use the repository search feature as part of their daily workflow. These staff run many repository searches a day, however, although people within a particular work area routinely use the same search parameters, across different work areas staff use a range of ‘standard’ search parameters.
We like to request that ExLibris to develop a ‘sticky’ last search feature in the Repository search. This would mean that Alma would ‘remember’ the way the Repository search was last configured, based on the user login. Our idea is that Alma would ‘remember’ a user’s most frequent…

Allow Alma phrase searching using quotation marks in quick search box
Our catalogers use the quick search box on the Alma homepage to do keyword searches for titles in our collection. Recently we discovered that using quotation marks around a phrase does not successfully keep the words together as a phrase in the search. The only way to search for a phrase is to use the Advanced Search, and change "Contains keywords" to "Contains phrase". This is very time consuming.
25 votesAs of January release Alma will support phrase search in the simple search box. All entities and index types that have the option to use phrase search in Alma’s advanced search also have this capability with simple search when using double quotation marks to identify the phrase.

Maybe Search indexes is not updated? I want 773 $$t indexed as Title.
I often check this Help site https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/Alma_Online_Help_%28English%29/Resource_Management/020Using_the_Repository_Search/Search_Indexes
to check how things are indexed. It looks like 773 $t is indexed as Content related data. Shouldn't it be indexed as Title? I suspect that it is indexed as title, but the information in Search indexes is not correct? Search indexes is very useful, and I would appreciate it updated.1 vote -
Batch searching in the repository and set creation
It would be extremely helpful if batch searching functionality can be added in the repository search. We have many projects where we have external data from an outside source that we need to find the matching data in our ILS, now Alma. For example, we are a member of a local consortium where we have several hundred oclc master records that all of us in the consortium need to manipulate in our own local ILSs. Instead of conducting one search at a time for these OCLC master record numbers, we would like to do a batch search of these master…

Allow user to specify number of items to display (and select) per page
Currently, only 20 items may be displayed and selected at a time. Most commercial websites offer a widget that allows the user to specify display of, for example, 25, 50, 100, or "all" matches when searching. (The widget option would be useful for other search types as well, but I'm concerned primarily with items here.) Adding such an option in Alma would be welcomed. Displays could still default to 20 per screen, but allow the user to display more on a single screen if desired.
The current limit has a serious impact on our productivity when units are transferring large…
27 votesAs of November release you can now select the number of results appearing on any list of results (previously, only a few lists had this feature). For some lists, the range is between 10 and 50 results. For other lists, it is between 20 and 100 results.
