    I would definitely support this type of functionality.

    For us it isn't so much that the request is overdue but that the user has fees on their account which might be for an RS item or for our libraries owned item. Once fees have reached a certain threshold we want the system to automatically block RS requests like it does with loans, and renewals and most recently holds/bookings. We have a work around with a logical set and an automated job but as then job runs every hour there are gaps. Also the set only accounts for active loans and not transferred loans (like the loan block does). I could craft itemized sets to cover this but more work to have the block added and removed.

    Since ALMA resource sharing or Rapido does not stop lending requests from coming to us even when the item is not available having field indicators as to whether or not the item is available in that moment would save time pulling an item for no reason.

    If this could be configurable so we could decide which ones to display this would be useful. Given we have thousands of Stat Codes and each user could have anywhere from a minimum of 3 up to 15 having them all display could get messy.
