I would second this idea. Colleagues have flagged the current behaviour as less-than-satisfactory while setting up some new collections.

I would find it useful for electronic resources if the URL of the resource was included in the XML. That way the same letter advising a user that the resource was available would provide access to the very text at a click.
In the age of Click and Collect, I would have thought this should be something the community needs developed as soon as possible.
We got by without it when we set up Click and Collect, but, at the time, I couldn't believe such a letter was not included. It would have helped us no end.
