It would often be helpful to include a note to the patron when filling local, digital borrowing requests. This would allow us to provide further context or resources about an uploaded file or link to the patron when filling requests with owned materials through the local fill process.

For instance, for owned digital materials, we would like to paste the permalink for the digital holding in the catalog into the URL field and use this as an opportunity to educate the patron on how to access the material themselves instead of uploading the file we own directly to them. However, since we cannot include a note, we instead would have to send a separate query to the patron first before sending the URL through Filled locally--Upload file, creating unnecessary extra steps. At this point, it's easier to just upload the file over the URL, but in the long term this increases unnecessary docdel and decreases patron awareness.
