How can we improve RapidILL?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Rapidill discrepancy between the date in Alma and on Rapidill web input.

    We are getting requests come through Alma that are lacking information compared to their web version counterparts. In both of these cases in the Alma version we have only got the year of the article which is why we have marked them as a ‘bad citation’ and referred them back to the requester. However, when looking at the Web instance a few minutes later which is not enough time for the request to have been updated, we can see the date information in full.   2. Smarter request routing

    Improve automated matching so requests are routed to the most likely supplying library first. This would reduce rejection loops and speed up fulfillment, especially when https://stelariocasinoit.com metadata is incomplete or inconsistent.

  3. Get Notified When a Borrowing Request Is Created

    In Alma, staff currently need to manually check the task list to see new borrowing requests. While the RapidILL web version allows email alerts, these are only sent once a request is fulfilled, not when it's created. We’re requesting a simple notification email at the time a borrowing request is submitted. This would help staff respond faster, because sometimes submitted requests have issues that need quick attention. Early notification would allow us to review and resolve problems sooner, improving turnaround and user satisfaction.

  4. Copyright Settings: Watermark Customization Request

    Currently, the copyright protection watermark cannot be adjusted, such as changing its opacity (making it lighter) or modifying the text size. I would appreciate it if customization options could be added so users can adjust the watermark appearance to better suit their needs.
