When articles with given tag are viewed, implement sorting by date, author etc as in all refs view or folder view
When viewing references by tag, the 'Sort By' option does not appear: I cannot therefore browse refs e.g. by date (to see most recent articles first)

public URL: output style and search function
Sharing folders publicly I'm missing the option to choose between different (customized) output styles as well as a search function. This was available in the old version.
For exernal users without refworks accounts the publications lists are not very comfortable to use.12 votesSearch is now available in Public URL shared folders.

APA 7th style should insert HTTP prefix to DOI, not require it to be hardcoded
The DOI metadata field should include literally just the DOI, so that users can switch styles without having to manually edit every record. The 7th edition style is forcing users to hardcode the https://doi.org/ in the DOI field which renders it unusable for any other style that doesn't use that format. Instead require the user to NOT have any characters (eg doi:) in the DOI field other than the actual DOI, and apply the https://doi.org/ prefix to the data when generating the bibliography for APA 7th citations.
27 votesFollowing additional feedback we added more APA 7th styles so users can choose the most suitable option. A total of 8 versions are now available.

APA 6th no date and multiple same author no date
When there is no date entered for a reference, Refworks should automatically default to n.d. and when there are more than one publication in the same year with the same author RCM should cite as per APA, i.e. Surname, n.d.-a; Surname, n.d.-b.
2 votesDate field accepts free text such as n.d. since July 2019. Author differentiation by various methods, including a/b/c suffix, is supported since April 2020. Make it possible to add the RefID to an export or to a custom style
We would like to export from New RefWorks with a RefID included. At this moment, the default export options don't include the RefID and it's not possible to add the field RefID to a custom style.
Use case: two researchers have to look at the literature for a systematic review and decide on inclusion or exclusion. They want to have a list in Excel with title and abstract and RefID to make it easier to compare and clean their list afterwards. This is possible in Legacy RefWorks, but not in New/ProQuest RefWorks.
45 votesI am happy to update this idea was completed in the November RefWorks release. Ref IDs are now included in all supported export file formats. Bulk edit for DOI field
Hello, would it be possible to Bulk edit also the field DOI? Especially records imported from PubMed include [doi] in this field which should not display in a bibliography.
It would be very helpful if we could Replace [doi] with zero characters in all records at once.14 votesI’m happy to update that bulk edit of DOI was part of the Feb. RefWorks release (along with bulk edit of author, language, reference type and title)

Sign Up Interface - Customize/change "Enter your [University] email to begin"
Need the ability to customize the word "University" in the sign-up interface, or change to "Institutional"/"Organization". This causes much confusion at sign-up because we are not a university, but have many affiliated/cross appointed university staff causing account confusion.
3 votesI am happy to update that since the September release the account creation screens say “Institution” instead of “University”.

Add a ref type for "dissertation"
There is no reference type in RefWorks for dissertations, only theses. In APA style, citations for dissertations and theses are formatted differently so RefWorks should offer an additional reference type.

Add Global edit
legacy Refworks has global edit function, so I can edit language field at once. Thus, it is good for if my output style has two definition for different languages. However, New RefWorks has bulk edit function as similar as Global edit, but there is no function for editing languages filed.
27 votesI am happy to update that the following fields were added to the bulk edit feature as part of the February RefWorks release:
Authors
Language
Reference Type
Title
DOI -
Offer Sensitive and Specific deduplication algorithms instead of New and Legacy
New RefWorks presently offers a choice of two deduplication algorithms that work differently. They find comparable numbers of duplicates, but they do not find the same duplicates. Users have to run both algorithms to find the maximum number of duplicates.
Users would be better off if the choices were between a high-sensitivity search (flag any duplicate picked up by either algorithm) and a high-specificity search (flag only those duplicates picked up by both algorithms).

Sort by Date on Table View
We would like to sort references by data when we display RefWorks on table view.
15 votesReferences may be sorted in Table View (and all other views) by Date added, Date modified, Date published, Title, Author or RefID. Ordering may be in descending or ascending order. Page display limit is 2000, but now all references are sorted.
