Content

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).

How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.

The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

  4. Add "Fuente académica Plus" electronic collection in CZ

Currently there are "EBSCOhost Fuente Académica" and "EBSCOhost Fuente Académica Premier" as collections in Alma Community Zone, but "EBSCOhost Fuente Académica Plus" collection it is not available.

So adding "EBSCOhost Fuente Académica Plus" as a collection in the CZ will be very useful.

  5. The Journal of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & Law

The Journal of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & Law (RAIL) is perhaps the first ever law journal devoted to these topics. It is published six times annually by Full Court Press, an imprint of the legal technology company Fastcase. Many major law firms and schools subscribe to RAIL and would like to benefit from SFX. https://www.fastcase.com/press/fastcase-debuts-rail-the-journal-of-robotics-artificial-intelligence-law/

  8. Please add bioRxiv https://www.biorxiv.org/ to Primo Central

bioRxiv (pronounced "bio-archive") is a free online archive and distribution service for unpublished preprints in the life sciences. It is operated by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a not-for-profit research and educational institution. By posting preprints on bioRxiv, authors are able to make their findings immediately available to the scientific community and receive feedback on draft manuscripts before they are submitted to journals.

Could a PCI collection be created for International African Bibliography Online?

    https://www.degruyter.com/view/db/iabo

"The International African Bibliography Online (IABO) is a leading specialist bibliography of African Studies. It already contains 140.000 entries from the International African Bibliography published in the years 1971 to 2017. About 4.000 new entries will be added every year. The IABO can be browsed by categories and offers detailed search options."

  16. Add Odilo Library to the Summon Index.

Add the digital library platform Odilo to collections indexed in Summon. It is used by many universities to offer their e-publications (i.e. https://uv.odilotk.es )
We have done the same suggestion to Odilo staff and they recommended that Summon use Odilo API to get and update the content.

  20. Add Trove: Pictures, Photos, Objects to Discovery

The 'Pictures' zone of the National Library of Australia's Trove service serves descriptions and (where possible) thumbnail images of pictures and objects held in Australian libraries and museums, as well as curated images of Australian history and life from Flickr. This would be incredibly valuable to Australian Ex Libris subscribers as well as anyone studying Australian history and culture, and would complement the New Zealand image collection that is currently indexed.

Trove staff seem to be happy to work with other institutions to expose Australian material to a wider audience. Trove metadata is set up to be able to…
