  1. Allow the selection of Course and then Reading List when using LTI in a LMS site

There is often complex mappings between institutional courses and LMS sites (these are not always a 1-1 mapping) and due to this the automatic LTI match is not viable.

If courses are pre-loaded into Alma then the instructor may have already built the reading list they require so we do not want the LTI to create another course.

If the LTI adapter allowed the instructor to select a course first and then the reading list then this would lower administration overhead significantly when there isn't a direct map between the course and LMS site.

  2. Hide suggestions from everyone who is not a list owner/collaborator

At the moment materials suggested for lists are visible to everyone logged in to Leganto, as well as who suggested it and the comment they added.

We'd prefer if suggestions were only visible to list owners/collaborators.

  3. List filter: Move Notes from 'Types' to 'Subject'

The Filter tab contains four different categories: Section, Tag, Type, Subject.
Notes are sorted in 'Type' even though they are not a type of citation. Ideally they should be sorted in 'Subject'

  4. section permalinks in Analytics or API

We currently manually adding permalinks to Insendi, which is a VLE that Imperial staff have created and are selling to other universities. Some Imperial staff want to put specific section permalinks into specific weekly VLE posts. It would be better, if we could give them a list of permalinks from a Analytics or API export.

  5. Filter / Remove 'notes' from material type filter

Notes are not a type of citations and shouldn't be grouped with books, journals, articles, websites, etc.
They could easily be moved to filter-group that contains due dates and likes.

  6. Add courses to User API

We have a regular feed of user data from our student information system (SIS) into Alma. The SIS also holds course data, so we'd like to be able to simply include course enrolment data in the existing feed, rather than set up a separate process.

As well as one process being better than two :-) it's a more practical fit to how the data is available. The current process for course enrolment in Leganto requires us to run one job for added courses and one job for deleted courses. But our SIS can't create a list of courses that have…

  7. Library Discussion Notes - glowing indicator when accessed from notification 'bell' icon

Some users report it is difficult to find Library Discussion Notes at the reading list level and also at the citation level.

When they log into Leganto, and click on the 'bell' icon for notifications, it would be great if when they click the "New Library Discussion..." within the notifications, the screen would clearly show the new note with a bold red text or a glowing box on the new messages they received.

It would be even better if Library Discussion was positioned before the Related Items and defaults to being open and easily spotted.

    Thanks!

  10. Include more search features in Leganto such as Subject Search, Sort by Newest, and more filter options that is available in Primo.

Leganto Search box is limited in comparison to Primo which means we need to do more complex searches in Primo and then import/export selected items, which is quite tedious with large and non-specific results. Please allow individual libraries to provide the option to add more Primo features such as filters, sort, and advanced Subject Search.

We plan to add the following options for the new UI:

    Advanced search:

    1. Select from Contains, Contains exact phrase, Starts with

    2. Search by DOI

    3. Type and Availability filters on the Advanced search page

    4. Filter by publication date: Specific year, Last 2 years, Last 5 years, etc.

    Search results:

    5. Select multiple filters for type or availability with OR operator between. Example, Book or Book chapter

  11. BL event Type needed in Alma Analytics

It would be really useful to have BL Event type in Analytics, to improve widgets that our Doc Del team use to work on current requests.

  12. Leganto: Have a Reference displayed for the resource in the style required eg APA7th

There was a comment from an academic saying when their readings were in the Learning Management System they had the correct APA referencing style demonstrated, with the link to the reading – so students could see the correct format. And the academic was disappointed that the Leganto list didn’t demonstrate the referencing in the correct style. So we would propose that under the title of the resource in the Leganto list, the reference for the resource would be listed in APA6 (or probably APA7 now) format. Ideally it would be like Endnote – where we input the data in the…

  14. popular reading lists

We currently have old lists showing on our popular reading list section. We would like to be able to remove these from the list. Either by changing the configuration of how the list is created or being able to pick which lists are in the popular list.

  15. API for Retrieval of List of Courses for a User

There already exists an API for the retrieval of a list of users for a particular course:
    GET /almaws/v1/courses/{course_id}/users

    https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/alma/apis/docs/courses/R0VUIC9hbG1hd3MvdjEvY291cnNlcy97Y291cnNlX2lkfS91c2Vycw==/

This request is for development of an API for the retrieval of a list of courses for a particular user.

  16. When copying a section from one list to another provide a 'search for' option to find the list you want to move to.

At present it gives a randomly ordered list of all lists on 'My Lists' so hard to find the one you want if as a librarian you manage a lot of lists.

  17. Ability to tailor the Alma citations view to support more workflows

This may be multiple ideas to be split out, but the basic idea is the same. Currently in Alma Citations, even with the useful SOLR indexing improvements to allow facets, it can still be difficult to use the Citations list as a tasklist, because there is only exclusive faceting and no date restriction. Although Analytics allows creation modification dates to come into use for filtering lists, in the Alma interface there is no easy way to only show certain dates.

It is also a heavy loading page as it can show all citations in Alma, whereas it would be useful…

  18. Allow placeholder text in author field

When instructors create a citation they have to enter the author manually. We want them to always enter the author as Surname, I.N. or at least Surname, Firstname - so students get used to the preferred citation format and for copyright reporting purposes - but there's nothing to remind them of this.

We'd like placeholder text to display in the author field, which would be configurable via the Labels code table.

  19. Digitization request form - show fields for journal articles as well as books

Improve the request digitization form so that it

shows the appropriate fields if the bookmark is a journal article, and shows the existing information from the bookmark to the requestor.

The information appears in the Alma citation, but I'd like the requester (whether academic or library staff) to see the information from the Leganto side.

  20. Add Citavi Integration to Leganto

As a librarian from a German library just introducing Leganto I would recommend to add Citavi to Leganto.

Citavi (https://www.citavi.com/de) is a widely used, sophisticated and user friendly reference management and knowledge organization software. It is available as site license to the members of most of German, Austrian and Swiss universities (see https://www.citavi.com/de/campuslizenzen) and additionally to some other European and overseas academic institutions (many Spanish speaking).

A Citavi integration with Leganto would be an additional benefit and welcome feature especially to new Leganto users from D A CH where for example software like RefWorks in less widely…
